England : Doncaster Rovers fans arrested in raids - 26/06/2013
Source : http://www.thestar.co.uk
Five Doncaster Rovers fans were arrested yesterday in dawn raids by police investigating a serious incident involving rival supporters on a train.
Trouble flared hours after Rovers fans had enjoyed their epic League One championship victory at Brentford in London on the last day of the season.
Since the incident on April 27 railway police have spent hours trawling through CCTV footage taken on the King’s Cross to Doncaster train, and at Newark station, where the alleged fighting erupted.
A total of 15 supporters of Doncaster Rovers and Nottingham Forest have been identified from the images and in an early morning operation yesterday, five were detained by British Transport Police.
Houses in Scawthorpe, Thorne, Kirk Sandall and Thurnscoe were raided and the men taken in for questioning.More arrests are expected over the next couple of weeks as the net closes in on other men believed to have been involved in the serious disorder which left one young man scarred for life.
The rival supporters had been involved in banter on the train back from London but it got out of hand.
It is believed the Nottingham Forest fans called for friends to meet them when the train pulled into Newark station and about 20-30 people were involved in a melee in one of coaches.
One of the Forest fans is alleged to have smashed a bottle on the side of the coach and ‘glassed’ one of the Rovers fans.
Det Insp Alderson, of BTP Doncaster, added: “Fans seem to to think if they get away with it on the day it’s put to bed and nothing happens to them. But we do investigate serious disorder like this and we are committed to following jobs through and they will get a knock on the door at some stage.”
The five males, aged 41, 23, 19, 19 and 16 were questioned and released on bail until August pending further enquiries.

Bulgarian Football Union Office 'Badly Damaged' by CSKA Fans - 29/06/2013
Source : http://www.novinite.com + local press
The office of the Bulgarian Football Union has suffered heavy damages after an attack by angered CSKA Sofia fans Saturday.
The windows and door of the office have been broken and part of the inscription has been removed.
There are damages even to the above ground floors, according to the Bulgarian Focus Information Agency.
Police have closed down the area, located on the central Ivan Asen II Str. in Bulgarian capital Sofia.
CSKA fans are currently protesting in front of the team's stadium in the nearby Borisova Gradina park.
The rally has been provoked by the takeover of the team by former football legend Hristo Stoichkov, and its possible merger with the team of Litex Lovech.
The change of ownership comes after years of financial trouble and unconvincing performance by CSKA, which however finished third in Bulgaria's latest national football championship.

Royal Mile Brawl: Hibs casuals lured thugs to trap
THE mass brawl which erupted on the Royal Mile saw Hibs casuals ambush football hooligans linked to Rangers and Hearts, it was revealed today.
An advance guard of Hibs fans were sent to the pub where the Rangers and Hearts fans were drinking – to act as bait and lure them to a CCTV blind spot.
They were then jumped by a rearguard of Hibs fans who laid into the fans who only seconds before had been chasing their “prey” with glee.
A source said: “This was a ploy so nothing would get caught on CCTV.”
Witnesses said that a number of Rangers and Hearts hooligans had been drinking in The Mitre Bar on the Royal Mile, including some notorious “faces” from the Glasgow casual scene.
A group of up to 30 young Hibs casuals are understood to have learned of their presence in the city centre and quickly assembled in nearby Niddry Street.
Some of the Hibs hooligans “lured” the Rangers and Hearts fans out of the pub by shouting at them from the street, challenging them to a fight.
The ensuing melee, caught on camera by a passer-by and later posted on YouTube, saw bottles hurled, punches thrown and one combatant kicked in the face as he lay on the ground on the historic thoroughfare.
But the Rangers and Hearts fans then disappeared off camera down Niddry Street where the worst of the fighting allegedly took place with the waiting Hibs thugs.
Witnesses said that a number of men were knocked unconscious during that savage street battle.
A witness said: “The Rangers and Hearts casuals were nothing to do with the march, they were just looking for bother.
“The Hibs casuals found out about it and they must’ve had quick ring round to get together a group to confront them.
“The Hibs guys lured them out the pub and there was bottles and other things being thrown about. But the Hibs casuals wouldn’t come on to the Royal Mile because they know there’s CCTV cameras up there.
“They stayed in Niddry Street and the worst of the fighting took place down there. There was maybe 20 or 30 from each group involved and when it ended there were five or six people lying knocked out.”
The shocking incident occurred at around 4.30pm Saturday in an area usually popular with tourists and families. The Hibs casuals were primarily in their teens and 20s, while many of the Rangers and Hearts hooligans were middle-aged.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “During any demonstration, Police Scotland provides an appropriate response to ensure the event passes peacefully. Any incidents that arise will be deal with proportionately.”
Four men, three aged 18 and one aged 21, were to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.

Sweden : GAIS Gothenburg - Helsingborg + Copenhagen - 29/06/2013

GAIS & Helsingborg hooligans involved in ugly clash in Copenhagen
The clearly pre-arranged meeting saw ultras from both teams come face-to-face, fist-to-fist and boot-to-boot in what can only be described as football hooliganism.
Both sets of ‘fans’ are clearly well prepared, with fists wrapped ahead of the close contact fighting.
The footage gives a bizarre insight into the world of football hooliganism, as after the men spend about 90 seconds beating the hell out of each other, they separate with little fuss and a conversation.
That doesn’t take away from the truly shocking footage however, and it’s a shame for the respective clubs that these ‘ultras’ choose to be connected to them.

Brazil : Referee beheaded after killing player - 30/06/2013
Source : http://www.espn.co.uk
An amateur football match in Brazil turned into a double murder scene as a referee was beheaded by spectators after he had stabbed a player.
The shocking incidents occurred in Maranhao, Brazil, last Sunday. According to reports, referee Otavio Jordao da Silva fatally stabbed footballer Josenir dos Santos Abreu.
Dos Santos Abreu is believed to have struck the referee after questioning a decision. In retaliation, Jordao da Silva fatally stabbed the player.
Having witnessed the incident, an outraged group of spectators turned on the referee. He was tied up, beaten, stoned and quartered. They then put his head on a stake and planted it in the middle of the pitch.
One man, Luiz Moraes de Souza, 27, has been arrested over the incident. Police are searching for two more suspects.
Valter Costa is handling the case and, in a statement, he said: "One crime never justifies another crime. Actions likes this do not collaborate with the legality of state law."
