Lazio president urges fans to avoid violence at Coppa Italia final - 01/05/2013
Source : http://forzaitalianfootball.com
Lazio president Claudio Lotito is urging all supporters who will be attending the Coppa Italia final to refrain from committing violent and inappropriate acts.
Now that the match has a kick-off time, focus has shifted back to one of the officials’ original concerns: preventing violence between Roma and Lazio fans.
Lotito addressed these problems in a press conference and explained why supporters of both teams should be on their best behaviour.
“I have to make an appeal to my fans,” he said. “The fans have to respect the law.”
“We have to ensure that this game is a reason to revive sport in this city.”
“Fans must know that we are under observation at an international level. Our behaviour will become an emblem of Rome.”
“We have to show that Roma can organize great occasions.”
The final between the Biancocelesti and the Giallorossi will take place at 18.00 local time on May 26 at the Stadio Olimpico.

Police injured clashing with Hajduk Split fans
Nine policemen were injured and two football fans were arrested in clashes with dozens of Hajduk Split supporters after the club had lost a derby match against arch rivals Split, police said Sunday.
The riots erupted after Saturday's late match that Split won 2-1, as several dozen Hajduk Split hardcore fans -- known as Torcida -- attacked police officers and Split supporters leaving the stadium, a police spokeswoman told AFP.
They threw bottles, stones and torches, damaging several vehicles, including two police cars, destroyed two traffic signs and demolished a bar, she added.
The group was among some 500 Hajduk Split fans, who boycotted the match to protest the high prices of tickets and camped outside the stadium during the game.
Police were searching for other fans believed to have been involved in the violence, the spokeswoman said.
Saturday's match was the first in charge for former international defender Igor Tudor who took over as Hajduk Split coach on Monday.
The club from the central coastal town of Split are currently fifth in the national league.
Croatia has pledged to tackle football violence after UEFA repeatedly warned the former Yugoslav republic over the issue.

Scotland: Two more arrested in football probe - 04/05/2013
Source : http://www.irvineherald.co.uk/
Two men have been arrested in connection with a disturbance at a youth cup final between Glasgow rivals Rangers and Celtic, taking the number of arrests so far to five. The pair, aged 21 and 28, were arrested on Friday for alleged offensive behaviour at Monday's game, police said. The development came as officers said that further arrests could be expected. The Glasgow Cup under-17s fixture at Firhill Park, the home of Partick Thistle FC, was the first meeting of the Old Firm duo since Rangers were relegated to the Third Division.
Kick-off was reportedly delayed as supporters set off flares and smoke bombs and damaged seats in the stands. Fans also reportedly invaded the pitch at the match, which was attended by about 6,000 people. The latest arrests were made by officers from Scotland's football co-ordination unit. The 21-year-old was arrested at an address in Thornliebank, East Renfrewshire, while the older man was arrested at an address in Erskine, Renfrewshire. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal. It is understood that both men were released on an undertaking to appear at court at a future date. Police Scotland previously revealed that three arrests were made at the match, which Rangers won 3-2. Two 17-year-old boys were arrested inside the ground over an alleged pitch invasion and a 19-year-old man was arrested outside the stadium in connection with a minor assault. Chief Superintendent Andy Bates, local police commander for Greater Glasgow, said: "We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the disturbance. Officers are still reviewing CCTV and it is anticipated there will be more arrests."

Walsall football fans in court charged over fighting - 03/05/2013
Source : http://www.expressandstar.com/
Eleven suspected football hooligans from Walsall have appeared in court charged over fighting which broke out before the team’s game against Shrewsbury.
The supporters appeared at Shrewsbury Magistrates Court yesterday accused of being involved with violent disorder when trouble erupted in Shrewsbury town centre before the fixture on October 14.
Rival groups linked with the two clubs were involved in the unrest. Three police officers were injured as they tried to quell the trouble.
One 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted a public order offence of violent disorder and will be dealt with in youth court later this month.
The other defendants, who are between the ages of 25 and 56, gave no indication of a plea. They have all been charged with violent disorder.
One defendant, James Ross, 27, of Abbey Square, Walsall, has also been charged with possessing cocaine. He gave no indication of a plea.
The other men accused include Aaron Arrowsmith, 34, of Harden Road, Walsall; Samuel Bryan, 49, from Leamore Lane in Walsall; Ben Edwards, 25, of Roebuck Road, Walsall; and Michael Edwards, 56, also of Roebuck Road in Walsall.
Also among the defendants are Stephen Leonard Sr, aged 50, of Kent Street, Walsall; Stephen Leonard Jr., 27, of Roebuck Road, Walsall; Neil Robinson, 50, of Stephenson Avenue, Walsall; Dean Stone, 32, of Burgh Way, Walsall; and Mark Walters, 27, of Alumwell Road, Walsall.
The men were granted conditional bail until another hearing at magistrates court next month before the case is sent to trial at crown court. Seventeen Shrewsbury Town fans were up in court earlier this week in connection with the same violence.
