| Former East German football clubs move to stamp out racism - 15/09/2007
Source : AFP
Three clubs from the former East Germany have banned any supporters showing symbols of extreme far-right groups or brands of clothing associated with racist speeches or anti-semitism.
"We will not tolerate anti-semitism, violence or the hatred of others in our football," said Bernd Maas, the managing director of third division Dynamo Dresden on Saturday.
The other clubs, third-division Magdeburg and second-division Iena, have also joined the incentive.
The measures are aimed at those wearing Thor Steinar clothing, which is associated with German extreme right-wing militants, but the three clubs have also moved to stamp out symbols of the extreme left.
"Flags, banners and clothing which points to organisations whose speeches are against the German constitution, are also banned," said a spokesman for Bundesiga second division side Iena.

hooligans cause problems for the police
A small gang of teenage trouble makers were again foiled by Derbyshire Constabulary at last nights game against Newcastle.
A small band of trouble makers has attached itself to Derby County Football Club and are becoming a pain in the side of the Derbyshire Police and other law abiding football supporters who attend matches involving Derby County.
The gang calling themselves the Derby Youth Connection, are a bunch of teenagers aged between 15 and 17 years of age. They have been involved in several incidents at games involving the Rams including the matches against Blackpool at home and Liverpool away.
The hooligans again tried to provoke trouble during last nights game with Newcastle united. Around 30 members of the gang were prevented from causing trouble, however a number of arrests were made, all Newcastle fans.
The youths were warned that any further trouble could result in Asbo's being handed out, or even banning orders from attending Derby County Matches.

| FOOTBALL VIOLENCE: HOOLIGANS ARRESTED IN LUCCA - 18/09/2007
Source : AGI News
This morning Lucca State police began an important operation coordinated by the central Unit of Prevention Police - the UCIGOS - which has already led to the arrest of several members of the extreme right-wing "Bulldog Lucca 1998" hooligans of the Lucca football team. All have been charged with criminal association, assault and battery, grave personal injury, threats with aggravating circumstances and the carrying of instruments for offence and damage. Even the group's internet site has been seized as a preventative measure. Numerous searches are underway by police officers. The Lucca special investigative forces (DIGOS) operation began after a long and complex investigation following the last football championship, which saw violent distancing by "Bulldog" members of other groups of fans from the sector of the "Porta Elisa" stadium reserved for the home team. The investigative activities by police allowed for light to be shed on a series of intimidating actions for fans belonging to the "Fedayn" and "Tori Flesciati" groups, politically on the extreme left, as well as other criminal episodes outside the stadium itself consisting in threats and violence against the young people belonging to the area of the leftist wing and culminating in the attack of a member of the "Cantiere Resistente", violently beaten on 27 February 2007.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxIz3JM1vGg
Seven Bolton fans have been arrested in Macedonia ahead of the club's UEFA Cup match against Rabotnicki Kometal on Thursday night.
The supporters were detained following a fracas outside a nightclub in the capital city of Skopje, the Foreign Office said.
All have since been released without charge following the incident near the Skopje City Stadium and will be free to watch the tie against Rabotnicki tonight.
A Foreign Office spokesman said: "Seven British nationals were arrested in the early hours of this morning, between 2am and 4am, outside a nightclub near the stadium after being involved in a fight. "All seven were taken to the local police station, questioned and released without charge."

Wanderers fans spend night in the cells
SEVEN Bolton Wanderers fans arrested in Macedonia ahead of the club's UEFA Cup tie with FK Rabotnicki tonight, have been released, police have said.
The fans spent a night in police cells in the capital city of Skopje after what has been described as a confrontation with taxi drivers outside a nightclub.
It is understood the row did not become violent and all seven supporters were released and will be allowed to watch the game at the 18,100-capacity Skopje City Stadium.
advertisementUp to 1,500 Whites fans are expected to arrive in the city before kick-off and the head of Bolton Police, Chief Supt Dave Lea, praised the behaviour of fans who had gathered so far.
"The conduct of the fans I have seen so far has been exemplary," he said.
"Seven people were arrested but I have been in touch with the chief of police and it would seem that there was a very small fracas with some taxi drivers close to a nightclub.
"There was no violence and it would appear it stemmed more from a misunderstanding and a clash of cultures.
"We do not expect any trouble and the local police have made it abundantly clear that people will be arrested for bad behaviour."

A short but violent fight took place just a few minutes before kick-off, opposing a dozen of local Boixos Nois to the same number of Lyon Lads, just in front of away stand. Police charged and arrested all French lads. At half-time these lads were sent out of the stadium. Boixos Nois also attacked isolated fans outside the stadium...like their reputation.
