| Lokomotiv Plovdiv - Botev Plovdiv - 29/09/2007Source : Sportal.bg + Sofia News Agency Lokomotiv team officials and the firm are due to meet on Monday to discuss ways to prevent such occurrences in the future, as well as the breakout of violence in the stands during the game, which Lokomotiv won convincingly 4-0. The local derby is traditionally a charged affair, but at least two fans were injured during Saturday's game. A 14-year-old Lokomotiv supporter was taken to hospital after his faced was burned by a flare and a 19-year-old Botev fan needed stitches to his brow after a mini-bomb went off in near him. Both flares and mini-bombs, which are routinely employed because of their loud noise, are banned on Bulgarian stadia, but at least 60 flares and 20 mini-bombs were thrown from the stands during the game, the police said. | |

Hooligans clash ahead of Turin city derby
Rival fans clashed in Turin on Sunday ahead of the derby match between Juventus and Torino.
The Italia 1 television channel showed footage of the clashes and reported that 15 fans had been arrested.
It has been a bad week for soccer-related violence in Italy.
Two Inter Milan fans received hospital treatment for stab wounds after being attacked by AS Roma supporters before Saturday's game in the Italian capital.
Last Sunday's derby between Sampdoria and Genoa was marred by clashes before kick off.
Earlier that day, Rome police arrested 66 Lazio fans, some armed with knives, machetes, clubs and knuckle-dusters, before they could set off for a match against Atalanta in Bergamo.
The Italian Foreign Ministry has warned Roma supporters of possible trouble on Tuesday when their side visit Manchester United in the group stage of the Champions League.
Both legs of last season's quarter-final between the sides were marred by violence.
The ministry told fans to "behave correctly and prudently".
Italian soccer has been beset by crowd trouble in recent years and is still recovering from the death of a police officer at a Serie A game in Catania in February.

Marca says a number of angry fans sought confrontation with Ruiz and other directors at the end of the game outside an executive box and the Levante chief didn't back down.

| Buck slams Chelsea fans over racist abuse - 30/09/2007
Source: www.soccernet.com
Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck has accused some of the clubs fans of sending abuse bordering on racism after Avram Grant replaced Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea's decision to replace the Portuguese coach with the 52-year-old Israeli has spawned a number of anti-Semitic comments which Buck says are unacceptable.
Buck's latest revelations arrived on the same day that Chelsea's season showed no signs of improving.
Their goalless draw against Fulham, Grant's first league game in charge of the Blues, was their fourth consecutive match without scoring.
But although they stretched their unbeaten home league record to 67 matches, Grant's problems were compounded with a serious injury to captain John Terry and a red card in the second half for returning striker Didier Drogba.
Terry saw a specialist last night and is to undergo an operation on a depressed fracture of the cheekbone after he was elbowed by Fulham's Clint Dempsey in the third minute.
Terry continued until half-time but was then substituted by Grant and the player's injury looks certain to keep him out for some considerable time.
He is unlikely to be fit in time for England's Euro 2008 qualifiers against Estonia and Russia despite suggestions from Chelsea staff that he will be able to return to training almost immediately.
Drogba will be suspended for one game following his dismissal for a second bookable offence but Buck is equally concerned with the reaction to Grant's arrival.
The fans chanted Jose Mourinho's name during the second half and even the club's billionaire owner Roman Abramovich, who sat with the fans in the upper tier of the Shed stand instead of his private box, was forced to endure their taunts.
But the sinister element of the near racist backlash following Grant's arrival is something Buck is determined to end.
Buck declared: 'We welcome all constructive points of view. But there have been a few which could be viewed as racist and anti-Semitic and that must stop immediately.
'This is one thing we will not tolerate, whether in written correspondence, on the chat pages, on posters or banners, or through singing and chanting.
'It unfairly smears the reputation of the vast majority of the Chelsea fans who rightly do not want to be associated with such activity.'
The anti-Semitic comments were aimed at upsetting Grant whose Polish father Meir, 80, is a holocaust survivor.
On the football front, Grant had promised the Chelsea fans a new attacking style but even with the fit again Drogba, they failed to find the net.
But the injury to Terry and Drogba's sending off did not help although Fulham's dogged determination almost brought them all three points when Petr Cech made a fine save to deny Paul Konchesky a winner five minutes from time.
Chelsea were guilty of squandering numerous chances with Salomon Kalou and Andriy Shevchenko the biggest culprits but Grant faces more injury problems ahead of their trip to Valencia in the Champions League this week.
Terry is almost certain to be missing following his cheekbone surgery while midfielder Michael Essien and England winger Shaun Wright-Phillips remain doubtful.

| Napoli Fans Handed Stadium Ban - 27/09/2007
Source : Goal.com A segment of the Napoli tifosi has ensured that their heroes will play their next home game behind closed doors, following an Italian FA-imposed stadium ban at the San Paolo... Napoli fans were all smiles following their side's late 1-0 win over Livorno on Wednesday night, but the tifosi will be in a grimmer mood following the revelation that they will miss the next home game.
The Italian FA (FIGC) has ordered that the ciucciarelli play their next home fixture - against Genoa in a week and a half - behind closed doors.
The infringements carried by a portion of the fanbase include the displaying of offensive banners, and throwing bottles towards the pitch. Apparently, an assistant referee was hit by one of these missiles, this seemingly being the crux of the issue.
A statement on the official Napoli website, however, states that the club intends to appeal the decision.
It began, "The società, while condemning without reservation the events that took place during the match with Livorno, attributable to the actions of a thoughtless person occupied in our field, states that it will tomorrow propose, with full urgency, a claim to the appeals court of the FIGC in order to revoke the decision of the sporting judge."
Last time the sides met for a 0-0 draw at the tail end of last season, both Napoli and Genoa had already secured promotion. This time, the visitors are fighting for survival while the home side will look to continue their decent run of form - with or without their fans.

Source: http://iccoventry.icnetwork.co.uk THUGS who attacked Preston fans after the Sky Blues match at the weekend have been branded as 'scum'.
Hooligans hurled stones and coins at Preston supporters as they left the Ricoh Arena on a coach after the match on Saturday which Coventry won 2-1.
Now users of the Telegraph's website forum have rounded on the yobs, and called for the club to publicly apologise to Preston's fans.
A coach window was smashed in the violence and the vehicle stopped at the roundabout outside the ground on the A444.
A few Preston fans got off the coach and fought with Sky Blues followers before retreating to the coach.

| Oxford: Two arrested after football fracas - 17/09/2007Source: http://www.thisisoxfordshire.co.uk TWO fans were arrested after trouble flared at Oxford United's loss to Aldershot on Saturday. Thames Valley Police spokesman David Paull said one fan was arrested for a public order offence while the other was arrested for assault. He was unable to say if the fans supported Aldershot or Oxford and added: "I understand the arrests took place outside the ground. "There was not much trouble at the match and the police operation went smoothly." Mr Paull was also unable to say if the supporters had been charged, released or put on police bail. Angry U's fans in the North Stand began making threatening gestures to rival fans after Aldershot scored their late winner. advertisement Stewards then stepped in to make sure the United fans did not breach the seated area which segregates the two sets of fans. There had been fears of trouble between the rival supporters and police upped their presence. Mounted police officers were on patrol before and after the game to keep fans apart and, aside from one or two incidents of fans threatening each other, there were no major incidents. | |

| Four-year ban for Wolves yob - 12/09/2007
Source: Birmingham Mail A TEENAGE Wolves fan who hurled missiles at police officers in ugly scenes of violence after last season's Molineux defeat by Albion has been barred from all matches for four years.
"Your behaviour was utterly dis-graceful," Judge Anthony Cleary told 19-year-old Birmingham University student Krishan Patel at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
"This sort of offence frightens and even terrifies members of the community. This was effectively a riot taking place in an English town with young hooligans throwing missiles at police. You are a football hooligan and you deserve to go to prison."
The judge added his hands were tied because other young men who had come before the court for being involved in violence after the derby game had not been sent into custody.
Patel, of Catherine Road, Coseley, admitted violent disorder. He was given a nine-month jail sentence suspended for two years and ordered to carry out 200 hours' community punishment and to pay £838 costs.
Kanwal Juss, prosecuting, said there was "large scale public disorder" after the game against Albion and Patel was in a group of around 500 Wolves fans baiting police officers.
After his arrest the student told police he had supported Wolves since he was a child and was angry because the Albion fans had been given a main stand at Molineux to view the game.
The judge told Patel it was a "thoroughly unpleasant" incident.
