Two Rosario Supporters Shot Dead After Football Match
Two fans of Rosario Central were killed by gunfire on the evening of November 9 near the stadium after an Argentine league match, reported various media outlets.
Local television Cadena 3 and several national newspapers have identified the victims as the leader of the "barrabrava" (ultras) of Rosario Central, Andrés "Pillin" Bracamonte, and another group member, Daniel "Rana" Atardo.
Bracamonte, banned from attending matches due to his history of violence, fell into an ambush with his companion near the Gigante de Arroyito stadium in Rosario, where the home team had just lost 1-0 to San Lorenzo, according to the reports. Over his 25-year reign as the head of Rosario's "barrabrava," Bracamonte had reportedly faced around thirty assassination attempts.
On Friday, he appeared in court for charges of gender-based violence, with the prosecution seeking a two-year prison sentence. He was also facing charges of extortion, conspiracy, and money laundering.
