High tension in Cosenza



The first incidents were recorded outside the stadium. Some Catanzaro fans got off their bus and engaged in a brief confrontation with police. Then new clashes took place near the Cosenza Nord crossroads, with smoke bombs and firecrackers thrown before the police intervened. Two of them were injured. A McDonald's annex was damaged, with families inside the establishment.
There was an arrest.

TROUBLES AFTER THE DERBY GAME

Incidents at the end of the derby between Juve Stabia and Casertana, with the Viale Europa in Castellammare still the scene of clashes and scuffles. As the celebrations for the Pagliuca team's derby victory continued inside the stadium, around 30 Casertana ultras, wearing balaclavas and black scarves and armed with clubs, managed to enter the surrounding streets, in particular Via D'Annunzio, and then continued along Via Cosenza as far as Viale Europa, where clashes broke out with the police.

The ultras, who had attacked a fan with a knife, robbing him of a yellow and blue scarf as booty, threw paving stones and bags of rubbish at the police in riot gear.

Lazio fan arrested for Hitler salute as supporters sing fascist songs in Munich beer hall

One Italian fan among about 100 Lazio soccer supporters who sang fascist songs in the beer hall where Adolf Hitler founded the Nazi party has been arrested and fined for giving a Hitler salute.

Munich police spokesman Michael Marienwald told The Associated Press on Tuesday that an 18-year-old from Italy was issued a four-figure fine after police were called to the Hofbräuhaus beer hall late Monday.

Marienwald said the police were looking at further action against more individuals after a large group of Lazio fans were filmed in the beer hall singing about the Blackshirts, the paramilitary wing of Italy’s National Fascist Party.

In a video published by the La Repubblica newspaper, the fans finished the song by chanting “Duce! Duce! Duce!” in reference to former Italian dictator Benito Mussolini, an ally of Hitler. The fans appeared to be giving fascist salutes.

Hitler founded the National Socialist German Workers’ Party, better known as the Nazi party, with a speech in the same beer hall in 1920.

The local Ertzaintza police intend to put an end to any violence, such as at Sociedad and the Portuguese from Benfica. On the way to Paris, 12 PSG hooligans were arrested by the French police.

Two Brighton fans attacked in Rome ahead of Europa League clash with Roma

Two Brighton & Hove Albion fans were admitted to hospital with minor injuries after being attacked in Rome on Wednesday ahead of their team's Europa League last 16 first-leg tie with AS Roma, the Premier League club said.

Local media reported that the two fans were stabbed and robbed.

"Two supporters were attacked as they left a bar last night and hospitalised with minor wounds. Thankfully, it’s not serious," a Brighton spokesperson said on Thursday.

"They’ve since been discharged and the club, English police liaisons and British Consulate have been in touch with them to provide help and support. We would reiterate the advice we’ve given fans ahead of the match."

Brighton advised travelling fans to use designated shuttle buses for safety reasons.

"Italian police advise it is better to avoid flags and colours in the city," Brighton said in a statement last week.
