Chester FC condemns disorder after play-off defeat

Police said Chester fans invaded the pitch, threw smoke bombs and tried to storm the away end after the 1-0 loss.

Brackley's manager Gareth Dean said it was a "disgrace" that children were "petrified for their safety".

Police said Chester fans also damaged coaches after Sunday's National League North game. Chester FC has apologised.

Police were called to an M1 service station as Stoke City fans clashed with Hull supporters.

Around 20 fans were caught up in the trouble at Northampton services on the M1 northbound between junction 15 and 15a on Bank Holiday Monday.

The ugly scenes came as Stoke had suffered a 2-0 final day defeat at Watford and slumped to their lowest Championship points total since being relegated from the Premier League. Hull, who ended one place higher in the table in 15th, had drawn 0-0 at Luton Town.

The tension between the Paris Saint-Germain ultras and the management continues to grow, in the wake of protests outside the club’s headquarters last week which culminated in a group of fans going to Neymar’s house to call for the Brazilian forward to leave.

Although the head of the Collectif Ultras Paris, Romain Mabille, had expressed his disapproval towards going to players’ houses, the group as a whole was sanctioned by the league leaders. This took effect on Sunday, when the tickets allocated to the CUP for the trip to Troyes were cancelled. At the start of the week, the CUP indicated that a meeting would be taking place on Tuesday with the club.

Today, the day after the meeting in question, the collective have announced that they will cease all activities until further notice – including their support for the handball and women’s football teams. In the statement, the CUP indicate that they consider the situation to be “very serious” and that “we do not intend to compromise on our freedoms”. They add that they are expecting responses from the club, and that they nevertheleess wish the best for PSG’s various teams for the end of the season, regardless of what is happening in the stands.

CF Montreal announced Wednesday that its visitors section at Stade Saputo will be closed for Saturday's match against Toronto FC following a fight between the teams' supporters in Toronto on Tuesday night.

Videos circulating on social media showed a small group of supporters exchanging punches in the upper-level seats at BMO Field during Montreal's 2-1 win in the Canadian Championship quarterfinals.

The fights took place at the corner of Union Street and Market Street at about 1.30pm today, less than two hours before Aberdeen and Hibernian kicked-off at Pittodrie.

Punches and kicks can be seen to be thrown while the rival sets of supporters pushed and pulled each other.
