PSG fans sprayed with tear gas by baton-wielding riot police in Paris as thousands take to the streets to celebrate their side beating RB Leipzig to reach the Champions League final for the first time ever
Police have clashed with PSG fans on the streets of Paris following their win over RB Leipzig, which booked their spot in the Champions League final.
Videos on social media showed that tear gas was used to disperse the partying supporters, and officers have reportedly also beat back some fans with batons.
People in Paris must now wear a mask in a lot of public spaces, and anyone coming to Britain from France must self-quarantine for 14 days on arrival.
The famous Champs-Elysees was a hotspot of action, and fireworks were reportedly fired off around the Arc de Triomphe.
Traffic was blocked on a number of streets as supporters set off flares and waved flags.
Cars honked their horns in the gridlock, but the fans would not be swayed from celebrating their team's win.
PSG fans also gathered around the club's empty stadium Parc des Princes, where more fireworks were let off as they looked to party into the night.
Helmeted riot police were called out to certain areas of the city in an attempt to enforce lockdown rules and break up any violent activity.

Source : https://sportstoft.com/
The Ligue 1 champions are through to their first Champions League final after a 3-0 victory over their German opponents.
But the event was somewhat marred by celebrations from fans that turned ugly.
Fans ran through the streets with flags and singing but scenes became more violent as the night went on.
Riot police were eventually called as tear gas and non-lethal launchers were used on crowds that descended on Champs-Elysee.
Shocking footage of police charging large swathes of fans have emerged.
The Champs-Elysee is a famous gathering point for PSG fans, who convene there during time of celebrations.
Video footage shows fireworks being let off and flares as the Arc de Triomphe was clouded in pyrotechnics.
Traffic had been blocked by the large crowds as well as the police, who used batons and tear gas to break up people.
The police were draped in huge riot gear, including body armour and helmets.
Some sections of fans hit back, throwing glass bottles and other missiles as violence grew more widespread.
Supporters also gathered outside PSG's ground the Parc des Princes, where more fireworks and flares were let off.
36 PSG fans were arrested.

France : Marseille police revoke PSG shirt ban for Champions League final - 21/08/2020
Source : https://www.france24.com
A ban on Paris Saint-Germain football shirts in Marseille's city centre has been revoked just hours after it was imposed to avert clashes between rival fans during Sunday's Champions League final.
PSG face Bayern Munich in Lisbon on Sunday evening, attempting to become only the second French winners after Olympique Marseille, who clinched the biggest prize in European club football in 1993.
Marseille's police prefecture on Thursday had announced a ban on "the presence of PSG supporters or people presenting themselves as such and behaving as such" around the historic Old Port — only to revoke it the next morning.
The ban was supposed to apply from 3pm local time on Sunday afternoon to 3am on Monday, with the evening match scheduled in between.
Tensions between fans of the two clubs are so strong that the French interior ministry regularly issues travel bans for away fans when the clubs meet.
Justifying its initial ban, the police said "there is strong animosity on the part of some Marseille residents, supporters or not, toward the PSG team, in contradiction with any sporting spirit".
The aborted order followed incidents during the broadcast of Tuesday evening's Champions League semi-final, in which PSG beat RB Leipzig.
The police said gatherings of more than 250 people took place in Marseille and there were two assaults on people wearing PSG shirts, including "attempts to intimidate them in order to interrupt the broadcasting of the match".
French authorities are also wary of possible unrest in Paris, where 36 people were arrested following Tuesday's semi-final when jubilant fans clashed with police on the Champs-Élysées.

Around 3000 Police to be Deployed During PSG's UEFA Champions League Final - 22/08/2020
Source : https://www.news18.com/
With Paris Saint-Germain looking to become only the second French club to win the Champions League, around 3,000 police will be deployed on the Champs-lyses and outside the club’s stadium on Sunday night to prevent wild fan celebrations amid coronavirus concerns.
Interior Minister Grald Darmanin announced the measures on Saturday. To encourage preventative measures, 2,000 masks will be distributed to fans who arrive without them. In a bid to keep the numbers down, 17 subway stations will be shut and three ring road entry points into Paris will be closed off.
Not only so things take place in the best way possible in terms of public security, but obviously so that the wearing of masks can be ensured, Darmanin said.
PSG faces five-time champion Bayern Munich in Lisbon, but all eyes will be on the game in bars and cafs back home. With virus cases increasing, authorities want to avoid scenes like Tuesday, when raucous fans celebrated reaching the final for the first time in the clubs 50-year history.
Thousands poured onto the famed Champs-lyses, some on scooters or hanging out of cars, lighting up the night sky with flares as they danced and cheered wildly. Many were without face masks as social distancing disappeared entirely amid the hugging and jubilation.
Police arrested 36 people after throngs at the foot of the Arc de Triomphe degenerated into scattered violence and shop windows were smashed. But police authorities were also widely criticized for not anticipating the situation properly and deploying only a dozen vans.
The avenue will be for pedestrians only from 9 p.m. kick off time with no vehicles allowed to enter. This rare measure is usually reserved for New Year’s Eve.
PSG is beaming the match on a giant screen at its Parc des Princes stadium in western Paris, where 5,000 fans will be allowed the maximum number that can attend soccer games in France.
All fans entering the stadium have to wear masks and wash their hands, and police are being deployed outside to prevent a repeat of the widespread gathering on Tuesday.
On the outskirts of the city, 500 people will be allowed to watch the game at the club’s training ground at Saint-Germain-en-Laye.
There is more than victory at stake for PSG, which is trying to end decades of gloating from bitter rival Marseille the only French club to have won the competition in 1993.

Riots erupt in Paris as police use tear gas and baton charges on THOUSANDS fans hurling fireworks and flares in 'coronavirus red zone' after their team PSG lose Champions League final
Rioting erupted in Paris tonight following the city's biggest football club losing the European Cup final.
Tear gas and baton charges were used by French police on thousands of Paris Saint Germain football fans following the 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League game.
Despite France's capital being a Coronavirus red zone, crowds had built up around the Parc de Princes, PSG's home ground, and on the Champs Elysee.
'Trouble started before the final whistle,' said a fan at the Parc des Princes. 'Riot police were out in force, and they came under attack when PSG went one-nil down.'
As he spoke, scores of tear gas cannisters were aimed at fans, who fired red flares and fireworks back.
Videos posted on Twitter showed the concourse around the Parc looking and sounding like a war zone.
At one stage a white police vehicle was attacked by a small group of fans – prompting police to move in.
Riot police were also involved in skirmishes with gangs of youths in other parts of the city, including packed cafés, were arrests were made.

PSG fans clash with Paris riot police after CL defeat
Dozens of disgruntled Paris Saint-Germain fans clashed with French riot police on the Champs-Élysées on Sunday after their team lost to Bayern Munich in the Champions League final in Lisbon.
Hundreds of other supporters trudged away from the famed avenue in Paris following the 1-0 defeat, which ended PSG's bid to join Marseille as the only French club to win Europe's elite soccer competition.
Close to the Champs-Élysées, a dozen riot police in full gear burst into a bar to aggressively remove people, because some were not wearing masks, or were failing to keep social distancing amid coronavirus concerns.
Over in western Paris, there were also incidents when riot police used tear gas to disperse fans gathered outside the club's stadium.
PSG beamed the match on two giant screens at its Parc des Princes stadium, with 5,000 fans allowed inside in keeping with the maximum allowed for soccer games in France.
But only minutes before kickoff, at 9 p.m. local time, hundreds of fans were still queuing and frustrations soon escalated because they could not see the biggest game in their club's history.
PSG was trying to end decades of gloating from bitter rival Marseille — still the only French club to have won the competition in 1993.

One group of rioters was caught on video appearing to loot a jewellery store after the window was smashed before being charged by cops.
PSG fans could also be seen climbing on cars, and at least one vehicle was flipped over while another was set on fire.
French interior minister Gerald Darmanin tweeted: "Thank you to the police who are currently carrying out interventions and arrests of small violent groups, troublemakers."
Mr Darmanin added that fans had gathered around the Parc de Princes in an "unacceptable excess" as cops enforced lockdown rules.
Videos from the chaos also showed supporters firing fireworks over the heads of police.
Paris police tweeted that at least 148 arrests had been made during the violent clashes.
Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said 16 police were injured, 12 shops attacked and about 15 vehicles damaged overnight.
Cops added as of midnight local time the crowds had been broken up along the Champs Elysees.

French police investigate looting, violence after PSG Champions League defeat - 24/08/2020
Source : RFI
Fifteen people have appeared in court in Paris accused of theft, vandalism and violence during clashes which followed Paris Saint-Germain's loss to Bayern Munich in Sunday night's Champions League final. A further 80 people are being investigated for their involvement in the looting of luxury shops in the French capital.
French authorities are picking up the pieces after yet more scenes of chaos on the Champs-Elysées as gangs went on a rampage following the defeat of Paris Saint-Germain to Bayern Munich in the final of the Champions League on Sunday night.
Fifteen people appeared in a Paris court on Tuesday, arrested for violence, theft and vandalism, while two investigations are underway into the looting of luxury shops.
Dozens more people have been remanded in custody.
'Not real supporters' France's Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said those responsible were "thugs who have nothing in common with real supporters".
"These are unacceptable acts," he said, adding that 16 police officers had been injured in the clashes, 12 shops had been damaged and 15 cars set on fire.
Police also fined over 400 people for not wearing a mask, as per the new restrictions in place for public spaces in a bid to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
Security forces were on high alert throughout Sunday night, as hundreds of people gathered on the world-famous avenue which had been closed off to traffic to allow space for pedestrians.
The atmosphere quickly soured when PSG lost to Bayern Munich 1-0, at a closed door match in Lisbon.
French riot police (CRS) were forced to use tear gas to evacuate the Champs Elysées, Trocadéro and the PSG stadium Parc des Princes after the match.
Groups of young men converged on Paris' wealthy 8th district, taking advantage of the tense post-match atmosphere, looting luxury shops, damaging street furniture and assaulting police officers.
Witnesses said flares and fireworks were thrown at the police and several cars were set on fire.
Out of the 158 people arrested on Sunday evening, 24 of them remain in custody, some were referred to a district attorney and around 40 were let off with a warning.
Forty-nine of the arrested were minors and will appear in a juvenile court in their department of residence.
Luxury stores targeted
The Paris court has also launched two inquiries into looting, the first involving jewellery store Christofle, on rue François 1er, where authorities said windows had been smashed and 50,000 euros worth of merchandise had been stolen.
The second inquiry concerns the nearby Nina Ricci store, on avenue Montaigne, where items such as a computer, cash box, clothing and perfume worth 150,000 euros were taken.
Around 80 people are believed to be involved in the two robberies.
Police presence had been increased in and around the Champs-Elysées in anticipation of violent scenes mirroring the chaos of last Tuesday's match, in which PSG won the semi-final against Leipzig.

Barcelona fans descend on Camp Nou in Messi exit outrage - 26/08/2020
Source : https://www.goal.com/
Supporters have been left enraged by Tuesday's news, with it appearing that the Argentine could be on the way out
Barcelona fans have gone to Camp Nou to voice their displeasure over the uncertain future of Lionel Messi.
The Argentine informed the club on Tuesday that he does not wish to continue at Barcelona, and it appears the forward is set to exit the only professional club he has ever represented.
The news comes in the wake of Barcelona's embarrassing 8-2 drubbing at the hands of Bayern Munich that sent them out of the Champions League. That loss led to the dismissal of manager Quique Setien, with Ronald Koeman brought in as his replacement, while sporting director Eric Abidal was also sacked in the wake of the defeat.

Riot police storm Paris bar during Champions League final over no social distancing - 25/08/2020
Source : https://news.sky.com/
Riot police burst into a bar to remove people who were not wearing masks or who were failing to follow social distancing rules.
The incident occurred during the Champions League final between Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich, which was taking place Lisbon.
A 1-0 defeat dashed PSG hopes of winning Europe's top competition for the first time.
During the match around a dozen riot police in full gear burst into a bar in the centre of the city to remove fans watching the game.
According to Paris police officials, the crowd was dispersed because some people were not wearing face coverings or were failing to follow social distancing rules.
In the west of the city, police used tear gas to disperse fans outside the club's stadium at Parc des Princes, frustrated that they could not see the game on two giant screens.
Government officials had urged people to wear masks in public before the game, and several bars were closed due to COVID-19.
More than 200 people were cautioned by police for not wearing face coverings, according to interior minister Gerald Darmanin.
Paris police officials said there were no arrests.
Extra security measures had been put in place on Sunday for the Champions League final with 3,000 police deployed on the Champs-Elysees, as well as to prevent large numbers gathering outside Parc des Princes.

England : Three men admit attacking stewards during Southend v Barnsley match - 28/08/2020
Source : https://www.echo-news.co.uk/
THREE hooligans have admitted causing affray after assaulting stewards during a Southend United football match.
Kyle Swann, Harvey Kennett and Curtis Horbury were attending a match at Roots Hall Stadium between Blues and Barnsley.
At the half way point of the game, which took place on March 2 last year, stewards were seen attempting to deal with an incident within the crowd of away fans.
Video footage from the game shows the stewards being assaulted by several men.
The stewards were reportedly trying to remove one of the Barnsley fans during half-time.
Swann, 19, of Laithes Lane, South Yorkshire, Kennett, 19, of Newstead Road, South Yorkshire, and Horbury, 21, of Station Street, South Yorkshire, were later charged and appeared at Basildon Crown Court yesterday via videolink.
They all admitted affray in relation to the incident and their sentencing will take place later in the year.
Four other men have denied causing violent disorder at the game and appeared during
the same hearing at crown court.
Darren Kennett, 54, of Newstead Road, South Yorkshire, Cameron Rose, 23, of Little Stubbing, South Yorkshire, Jonathan Senior, 47, of Calabria Grove, South Yorkshire, and Tom Bracken, 35, of Oakley Avenue, West Melton, all appeared via video link and denied one count each.
All seven men will next appear in the same court on September 11 this year in front of Judge Samantha Leigh for further case management.
The game where the violence took place saw Southend United lose 3-0 to Barnsley.
An appeal was launched by Essex Police in the aftermath to help find those responsible.
CCTV images of men sought for questioning were also released.
Southend United also went through its own independent investigation into the matter.
The maximum sentence for causing affray is three years in jail.
The trio of hooligans could face a lengthy spell behind bars when they are sentenced.
An agreed date for sentencing has not yet been set.
The four other men are set to stand trial at a later date.

SC Gjilani · Apoel Nicosia - 27/08/2020
Source : https://greekcitytimes.com/
Albanians in the Serbian province of Kosovo burnt the Greek flag following a match between SC Gjilani and APOEL from Cyprus.
APOEL needed extra time to beat Gjilani 2-0 in the Kosovo capital of Pristina to progress to the second qualifying round of the Europa League.
Congolese striker Dumersi Endogala with a good energy and an accurate cross in 102′ gave a ready goal to Georgios Efrem. Dieumerci Ndongala sealed his debut with a goal, after a nice place he made it 0-2. Tomás De Vincenti made the vertical pass in both goals.
However, despite their defeat yesterday by the APOEL Nicosia football club, the fans of Gilani did not thwart their plan to burn the Greek flag after the match in Pristina.
Gilani fans calling themselves “Hawks”, chanted after the match that “Kosovo is the heart of Albania”, unfurled the Greek flag and burned it while shooting videos that they posted on social media.
