Protests inside and outside ground
Anderson, who is out of the country, has said he is doing his utmost to sell the club and asked fans to be patient.
But thousands of supporters turned out to protest at their current financial state.
In September, former owner Eddie Davies gave Bolton a £5m loan four days before he died to help the club avoid going into administration.
Players' wages for November were also paid late and they were placed under a player registration embargo.
Protesting fans also showed support for club legend John McGinlay following his "removal of media privileges" after he voiced criticism in a BBC Radio Manchester fans' forum last week.
McGinlay joined the protest despite not being allowed to fulfil his media commitments inside the ground.
The protests continued inside the stadium, with supporters throwing tennis balls onto the pitch to delay kick-off while 'Anderson Out' banners were scattered throughout the crowd.
There was also unrest among a group of fans and stewards which quickly calmed down following intervention from police.

England : West Ham fined £100,000 for crowd trouble at home match vs. Burnley last season - 22/01/2019
Source : https://www.itv.com/
Protests inside and outside ground
West Ham have been charged £100,000 by the Football Association for the crowd trouble during their home defeat to Burnley last season.
The Premier League club have avoided a points deduction or having to play a number of matches behind closed doors after the incident during a 3-0 loss on March 10, 2018.
A number of fans were fighting in the stands, with the director's box - housing co-chairman David Gold and David Sullivan - also targeted.
Supporters made it onto the pitch at the London Stadium, with Hammers captain Mark Noble throwing one intruder to the ground as another stole a corner flag and held it aloft.
West Ham pointed the finger of blame at venue operator London Stadium 186 (LS185) - who are responsible for stewarding on matchdays.
But the FA confirmed the charge, and punishment, in a statement released on Tuesday afternoon.
"West Ham United FC has been fined £100,000 for failing to ensure that its spectators conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and that no spectators or unauthorised persons encroached onto the pitch during the Premier League match against Burnley FC on Saturday March 10, 2018," it read.
"The club denied the charge, but it was subsequently found proven, and was sanctioned by an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing on Friday (18/01/2019)."
West Ham issued a response in which they revealed 23 supporters had been banned over the past year for the part they played in the unsavoury scenes.

Lille Win, 2-1, At Marseille After 38-Minute Delay For Firecracker Incident
A Ligue 1 game between Marseille and Lille was halted for 38 minutes on Friday after a firecracker was thrown on to the pitch at Stade Velodrome.
Second-place Lille went on to win the match, 2-1, over 10-man Marseille, thanks to a brace from Nicolas Pepe. Florian Thauvin was sent off after the break and Mario Balotelli scored a consolation goal late in stoppage time to mark his Marseille debut.
Lille led 1-0 when the incident occurred early in the second half, the object exploding close to Marseille players Jordan Amavi and Kevin Strootman.
Referee Amaury Delerue took the players off the field and there was a lengthy delay before they re-emerged to restart the match.
A chaotic game was preceded by Marseille supporters protesting against the club's ownership, fans displaying a banner that called for coach Rudi Garcia to be sacked.

Celtic fans jailed after 2013 Amsterdam riot have case overturned after CCTV contradicts police evidence - 25/01/2019
Source : https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/
Three Celtic fans jailed for their involvement in the riots in Amsterdam city centre in 2013 have had their convictions overturned.
A court in the Dutch capital today declared that crucial evidence from police during riots in Dam Square, prior to Celtic's Champion's League clash with Ajax on November 6, 2013, differed from what actually happened.
Bedlam broke out in the city when Dutch casuals ambushed Celtic supporters with undercover officers also involved in the mass brawl that erupted.
Eight police officers were injured and almost 50 Hoops fans arrested, with five later convicted of disorder offences and sentenced to between one month and two months in jail.
The fans always protested their innocence but at their original trial Jurgen Piena rejected their claims that undercover cops had not identified themselves properly and they feared they were under attack from Ajax casuals.
The fans had told their original trial they believed they were under attack from Ajax hooligans.
They said they were unaware that the men who had sprung on them without warning were undercover police officers.
Defence lawyer Visser claimed the officers did not identify themselves properly – and a fellow cop attacked them because he mistook them for football casuals.
And now three fans have now had the case against them thrown out after an appeal highlighted inconsistencies in police evidence
Local Dutch publication FOK reports that during the appeal process a number of images of the riots surfaced - which shows the information provided by officers and witnesses differs on crucial points from what actually took place.
The news outlet says that although the situation was chaotic, reports from the police have to be correct, with the errors so serious that the case was deemed inadmissible.

Man slashed in face in brutal street violence ahead of Everton vs Millwall game
A man was slashed in the face amid scenes of shocking violence ahead of the FA cup tie between Everton and Millwall.
Police were called to reports of "disorder" between large groups of males by Southwark Park in South East London.
Videos circulating on social media show large groups of hooligans brawling against each other.
Metropolitan Police said officers were called at 4.31pm to Southwark Park Road.
A spokesman said: "One male aged in his 20s was discovered suffering from a slash wound to the face. He is being treated by London Ambulance Service; his injuries aren't life-threatening.
"Another male was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and possession with intent to supply.
"His arrest is not connected to the male suffering the slash wound. He has been taken into custody.
"A shop front is believed to have been damaged following an altercation between a group of males.
"Officers remain in attendance."
The Force said there were no details of any further arrests or injuries at this time.

Coach driver forced to drive to safety after Everton supporters' bus "destroyed" by 'Millwall fans'
Separate violence was reported at coaches near Millwall's stadium.
A relative of one bus driver said: "He got there at around 5.30pm because they were a bit late, and then the Millwall fans destroyed his bus.
"They were throwing bricks, bottles, anything they could get their hands on.
"He had to drive towards them to get away. All the windows on his bus are smashed and he can't drive it home now."
One Everton fan, who was on another bus, described how fellow fans had been banging on the inside windows and making gestures to the Millwall contingent.
He said: "They were saying, 'come on, we aren't scared of you' type of thing. Then the Millwall fans smashed the windows on the bus.
"I got off the bus but I didn't even go into the ground, I just stayed in a cafe. The atmosphere was terrible. The ugly face of football violence rears its head again."
Metropolitan Police confirmed three coaches were attacked with glass bottles close to Milllwall's ground.
There are no reports of injuries.
Earlier the man slashed in the face, in his 20s, was taken to hospital.
Mounted police separated the two brawling groups and an investigation is underway.

Shrewsbury’s goals provoked rushes to the front that ended in countless objects being thrown at the Wolves fans or on the pitch
Shrewsbury’s goals provoked rushes to the front of Block 19 that ended in countless objects being thrown at the away fans or onto the pitch. They were outnumbered only by the hand gestures that led police to step in and demand for a little decency. On that plea, a losing battle was being fought. Almost every other supporter in the block had goggles built into their coat hood. It wasn’t as a precaution against the weather.
Eventually, the goading provokes exactly the desired reaction. Wolves fans storm the front of their stand, throwing objects of their own and met by a wave of police officers who act as protection as much as disciplinary measure. After the game and away from police, there were running fights on the streets that caused troublemakers to dash across traffic and get involved. Nearer town, pockets of young Shrewsbury fans headed back towards the stadium to seek out another flashpoint.

Police warned members of the public to avoid the area while the rival fans were dispersed.
No further details of the altercation have been released, but an estimated 60 police officers were in attendance at the ground.

England : Everton fan slashed in Millwall brawl reveals horrific wounds as he says 'I can't look at myself' - 27/01/2019
Source : https://www.mirror.co.uk/
The man slashed in the face before Everton's match against Millwall admits he 'can’t even look at myself in the mirror'.
Jason Burns, from Liverpool, revealed the shocking extent of the facial wounds in a post on Facebook .
Metropolitan Police confirmed a man was slashed in the face as the two sets of supporters clashed ahead of the FA Cup match at the New Den.
An image emerged on Saturday evening showing a man with a slash wound and Burns posted on Facebook to show the damage.
He was left requiring stitches across the length of his face while there were also cuts and bruises to his eyes and mouth.
Mr Burns posted: "Absolutely devastated about me face nice one to all the Everton lads and everyone who has messaged me an the Liverpool lads who have messaged me much appreciated.
"I can’t even look at me self in the mirror daft c*** award goes to me again."
Metropolitan Police appealed for witnesses of the violent scenes that occurred on a street that leads from Surrey Quays underground station to Millwall's ground, The Den.
Police were forced to separate large groups of supporters seen coming to blows near a block of flats on Hawkstone Road in south-east London.
In video footage circulating on social media, officers on horseback can be seen attempting to get between rival groups from the Premier League and Championship clubs.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "At around 16:42hrs officers became aware of a large group of males fighting in the Hawkstone Road area.
"One male aged in his 20s was discovered suffering from a slash wound to the face. He was taken by LAS to a south London hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening.
"A crime scene remains in place. Officers worked to separate the groups with support from the Mounted Branch. At this early stage, there have been no arrests."

England : Millwall ready to ban fans 'for life' if found guilty of making racist chants during FA Cup defeat of Everton - 27/01/2019
Source : https://www.telegraph.co.uk/
A video from the game showed Millwall supporters at The Den using racist language in a song discriminating against the Pakistani community.
Kick It Out described the chanting as “disgusting” and called on the FA to take swift action, while Millwall released a strong worded statement of their own.
The FA has confirmed they are investigating the matter and a Millwall statement read: “Millwall Football Club is aware of, and extremely disappointed by, a video circulating online displaying alleged racist chanting during Saturday’s victory over Everton.
“The club will, as is commonplace following such incidents, work with all relevant authorities during investigations into the matter and look to identify individuals involved. Anyone identified and guilty of such abuse will be banned from The Den for life.
“The club would like to place on record its gratitude to, and pride in, the vast majority of its supporters who gave their team outstanding backing throughout the match and who deserve to enjoy a memorable victory. They should be able to do so without being tarnished by behaviour they would find abhorrent.
“Millwall Football Club has a long and proud record of anti-discrimination work and on top of this investigation will continue to work tirelessly, alongside the authorities, to eradicate all forms from the game.”
Despite Millwall’s attempts to clamp down on discriminatory behaviour, this is just the latest in a long line of allegations of racism made against the club.
In 2013, Millwall avoided FA punishment but were warned future misconduct could result in sanctions after two fans were arrested and charged by police and given life-time bans by the club following racist abuse during matches against Birmingham City and Leeds United.
During the club’s run to the FA Cup quarter-finals in 2017, Millwall fans were accused of racially abusing Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min at White Hart Lane but, again, the club escaped sanction.
Now Kick It Out have called on the FA to make a zero tolerance response to the latest allegations.
A statement said: “The racist chanting heard from some Millwall supporters during yesterday’s match is disgusting and typical of mass discriminatory chants that continue to go unpunished.
“We reiterate our message: racial hatred – and all forms of discrimination – have no place in society, especially not in 2019. There is no reason why a footballing environment should be the exception to this rule.
“Kick It Out wants to see the relevant authorities take swift, firm and decisive action against the perpetrators. We have spoken with the FA, who confirmed they are investigating the incident.”
An FA spokesperson added: “The FA can confirm that we are aware of a video posted on social media after The Emirates FA Cup match between Millwall and Everton. Discriminatory behaviour and chanting has no place in football and we will be investigating the matter.”
The Metropolitan Police are also investigating violence between groups of Millwall and Everton fans ahead of the game, which resulted in one man being slashed across the face with a knife.
Michael Avery, from the Millwall Supporters’ Club, said: “We won family club of the year in 2017, we are universally recognised for the work we do with family supporters and young supporters and this kind of thing does not help the club at all. There really is no place for it in football. It’s just a mindless few. It’s not right at all.”

England : Police investigating ‘shocking’ violence as Millwall call for united education - 28/01/2019
Source : https://www.shropshirestar.com/
Scenes marred Milwall’s win over Everton.
The Metropolitan Police have condemned the violent clashes between Millwall and Everton fans ahead of their FA Cup clash on Saturday as “some of the most shocking football violence we have seen for some time”.
An Everton supporter suffered a “life-changing injury” after an attack from a Millwall fan amid ugly scenes in south London before the tea-time kick-off.
The injured man named himself on social media as Jay Burns, posting an image showing a long scar down the right side of his face, while a police officer was also injured.
The Met are also investigating allegations of racist chanting during the match, some of which was captured on video and posted on social media.
Deputy assistant commissioner Matt Twist said: “The disorder which occurred before, during and after the Millwall v Everton Cup match on Saturday, 26 January was some of the most shocking football violence we have seen for some time.
“The abhorrent behaviour lasted a number of hours, involved dozens of people, and resulted in at least one serious injury.
“One man was taken to hospital with a horrific, life-changing injury to his face. One of our officers was also injured, and has now been discharged from hospital.
“We have a highly-skilled team closely reviewing evidence as we speak, and I am confident we will soon know the identities of those involved.
“We will use this evidence and all tools within our power to locate the individuals involved in this ridiculous behaviour, whether they come from London, Liverpool or elsewhere. We will bring them to justice.”
Millwall’s 3-2 win over the Premier League side was then marred by a video which appears to show home fans engaging in racist taunts of the visitors.
The Football Association has said it is investigating while Millwall have pledged to hand out life bans to any one found guilty.
Lions chief executive Steve Kavanagh said the incidents have ruined the win, but insists the club should not be subjected to an “attack” or the “same old response”, claiming the response has been blown out of proportion.
“I have to remember the core support of the club, the vast majority, are outraged by what has gone on here and that is what makes me sad in the attack that is going on,” Kavanagh told BBC Radio Five Live.
“Is (is) that these people aren’t educated and they just don’t understand?
“Millwall Football Club cannot be responsible for educating the whole of south east London and this group of people.
“We need the authorities, the Football Association, Kick It Out, ourselves and other clubs, rather than threatening everyone with ground closures and sensationalising, ‘Chuck them out of the cup’, and ridiculous notions that are going on….
“We need to all come together and find a way of trying to get this education. Football is fantastic, let’s use its place in society to educate people and find a way of doing that and really coming together.
“Don’t say, ‘Oh let’s get Millwall out of the FA Cup’, use it as a position to say, ‘Let’s get with Millwall, they have been doing this for years, they have got organisations set up in place to educate people, let’s go and work with them and see how we can help them’.
“It’s an area I would like to explore with the FA and Kick It Out, rather than the same old response which is, ‘Right, let’s have a go at Millwall, let’s fine them or do whatever’.
“That’s not getting us anywhere.
“This isn’t just a Millwall thing, this happens across society, if you try and tell me there hasn’t been a this sort of chant in another club this season in this country I won’t believe you.
“It’s an issue in society, we will take responsibility for our guys.
“We are an easy peg to hang this on, there is a history there and everything something like this comes up it gets blown into huge proportions as is happening now.”
