Israeli Football Team Fined for 'Shoah Slogans' Against Rival's Supporters
The Hapoel Tel Aviv soccer team was fined 25,000 shekels ($6,800) after its supporters chanted “Holocaust songs” against fans of hometown rival Maccabi Tel Aviv during a derby on Monday, as well as throwing objects onto the field.
The disciplinary judge adjuticating the incident harshly criticized the team’s management and said a visit to the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial center in Jerusalem could be beneficial to its supporters.
The spokesman for Hapoel Tel Aviv, Erez Naaman, said this was an isolated incident and was not at all as severe as described by the Soccer Association observer. “This does not mean the Holocaust in the meaning of the attack on the Jewish people but as an expression of deep hatred,” he said. “It's a call for the destruction and devastation of the rival team,” said Naaman. According to Naaman, all in all, the game went off extremely well.
As for the throwing of objects onto the playing field, the judge recommended to the team’s management to meet with the security officials for other teams, such as Maccabi Haifa, to learn how to prevent such incidents in the future.

Italy : Inter ultra leader nabbed for fan death - 17/01/2019
Source : http://www.ansa.it/
Nino Ciccarelli arrested in Milan
Italian police on Thursday arrested one of Inter Milan's hardcore ultra fan leaders in connection with scuffles ahead of the Boxing Day match with Napoli in which an Inter fan was killed. Nino Ciccarelli was taken into custody in Milan, sources said. They said another Inter ultra was also set to be arrested. Inter and Varese ultra leader Daniele Belardinelli, 35, was fatally run over during the scuffles, which occurred when Inter fans attacked a column of vehicles carrying Napoli fans. Inter won the match 1-0. Another four Inter ultras have been arrested over the incident including Marco Piovella aka 'Red', leader of the ultra Boys group, and Luca Da Ros, who has been helping police with their inquiries. The number of people probed on charges of voluntary manslaughter and aggravated violence in the investigation in Milan on the clashes between Inter and Napoli fans has risen to 23, investigative sources said last week. The voluntary manslaughter charge against all 23 suspects is a key technical step to move the investigation forward, the sources said. Meanwhile, investigators are examining a second car seized by police in Naples, which reportedly has dents to verify whether they are compatible with the incident.

England : The 14 complaints about policing at Stoke City and Port Vale matches in last five years - including being bitten by dog - 17/01/2019
Source : https://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/
Staffordshire Police have received 14 complaints from the public about policing at football matches over the last five seasons, a StokeonTrentLive investigation has revealed.
The complaints - laid bare by a Freedom of Information request – are about a range of issues at Stoke City or Port Vale home games, from the use of force to being bitten by police dogs, and took place between 2013/14 and 2017/18.
There were five complaints regarding officers’ use of force, though no further details were provided. Three weren’t upheld, one was withdrawn and one had the outcome “special requirements.”
Three complaints were made about dog bites, none of which were upheld.
Staffordshire Police aren’t alone in receiving complaints about officers’ conduct at matches. Our FoI request revealed that at least 233 complaints have been made up and down the country.
Amanda Jacks of the Football Supporters Federation said: “Policing at football matches has vastly improved in recent years.
“We find supporters may shrug things off as part and parcel. But if supporters feel they have cause for complaint then we welcome them to get in touch.”
Only 30 UK police forces responded to the FoI request, with 16 failing to provide information. The actual number of complaints is therefore likely to be higher.
Responding to the complaints revealed by this investigation, the Home Office said: “Law-abiding fans should be able to enjoy football matches in safety, and any violence or disorder will not be tolerated.
“The nature of policing means it is sometimes necessary for police officers to use force. However, we are clear that all use of force must be necessary, proportionate and reasonable in the circumstances. We are committed to improving transparency and accountability. This is why the Government initiated reforms to the way in which use of force data is recorded and published.
“Where members of the public are dissatisfied with the way they are treated by a police officer, the police complaints system provides a route for them to raise this concern to be dealt with in accordance with the law.”

Southampton FC - Derby County - FA Cup - 16/01/2019
Source : https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/
POLICE have launched an investigation after a skirmish broke out between fans in the wake of Saints’ FA Cup exit.
Supporters from both sides were seen being wrestled by St Mary’s stewards as the Derby players celebrated their third round replay win on Wednesday night.
The fracas broke out in the Northam Stand, in the neutral zone between the two sets of fans, moments after Richard Keogh slotted Derby’s fifth penalty to seal a 5-3 shoot-out win, following a 2-2 draw.
A separate incident, showing what appears to be a Nottingham Forest fan being removed by stewards, was also filmed by away fans.
But Hampshire Police say their investigation is into the “disorder” incident following the final whistle.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We are aware of some disorder that took place in the Northam Stand of St Mary’s Stadium following the winning penalty.
“Officers are making enquiries. No arrests have been made.”
The club has also confirmed it will assist the police in their investigation.
A Saints spokesman said: “The minor incident was dealt with as quickly as possible on the night and, as ever, the club is working with Hampshire Constabulary to resolve the matter.”
English football’s governing body, the Football Association, has also confirmed it is aware of the matter.
A spokesperson added: “We are liaising with the police.”
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Derby County Football Club said it did not feel the need to comment as no visiting fans were ejected from the stadium last night.

Italy : Napoli Supporters Were ‘Prepared For Clashes’ Before Inter Match - 18/01/2019
Source : https://sempreinter.com/
New evidence has emerged regarding the scuffles outside San Siro prior to Inter’s Boxing Day match against Napoli, Gazzetta dello Sport reported today. Italian police yesterday arrested two men known to be involved in Inter ultra groups, identified as 49-year-old Nino Ciccarelli and 48-year-old Alessandro Martinoli. The latter is believed to have been a friend of Daniele Belardinelli, 35, who died as a result of the violence and led a group of ultras comprising Inter and Varese supporters. However the police’s interrogation of Ciccarelli, who heads up the Viking Nerazzurri group, uncovered new evidence which suggests Inter’s fans were not the sole aggressors on Boxing Day. Ciccarelli undressed himself to show police the injuries he had sustained and revealed wounds caused by knives and screwdrivers, pointing towards a planned attack from Napoli fans. The evidence tallies with reports police found several weapons aboard a minibus taking Napoli ultras to the match, although this was not the same coach which allegedly ran Belardinelli over and killed him. Arrests for Napoli supporters could follow in the next few days.

Punters hit out at the behaviour from both teams supporters, branding it "Scotland's shame".
And one eyewitness told us: "I turned up just as the fights broke out. A crowd of Celtic fans were clashing with police and stewards. They were then pushed back behind the segregation gate as cops tried to close it.
"A load of Airdrie fans were behind a wall of stewards to the right while all this was happening. I think there was trouble between both sets of supporters earlier, though.
"Usually there's no problem walking through the away end before a game, but there was certainly bad blood this time. It all got a bit out of hand."
Police Scotland today confirmed the arrests and said they continue to investigate the violent clashes.
A spokesperson said: ""Officers continue to investigate a number of incidents of disorder from a small element of both home and away supporters at the Celtic V Airdrionians match at Celtic Park on Saturday 19 January 2019. ‘100-strong Airdrieonians crowd’ were ‘out of control attacking pubs singing sectarian songs’ before Parkhead clash.
A SHOCKED witness claims a group of Airdrieonians fans were "attacking pubs" and "trying to pull down Irish flags" in Glasgow ahead of a clash with Celtic.
The League One outfit took on the Hoops in the Scottish Cup last weekend but the game was overshadowed by issues off the field amid fan troubles.
The Airdrie Supporters Trust blasted the Scottish champions and the SFA after a number of fans were allegedly pelted with glass bottles and coins as they made their way to Parkhead.
The Trust took to social media to explain how more than 300 supporters were left in a "vulnerable position" after getting off fan buses and heading up London Road before kick-off.
Now one witness has claimed that a crowd of Airdrie fans "one hundred strong" was "out of control" as they made their way towards the match.
Crowds allegedly wearing Airdrie team colours were spotted in the Gallowgate area of the city around 4.30pm on Saturday.
And one shocked onlooker claimed they were singing sectarian songs.
He said: "I was on the scene in the Gallowgate ahead of the game about 4.30pm on Saturday.
"There were about 100 Airdrieonian fans who must have come off the train at High Street and made their way down.
"They were singing anti-Irish songs and attacking pubs and shops on the Gallowgate.
"I saw a couple of them trying to pull down Irish flags from outside one of the bars.
"They were really out of control before the police stepped in and started to usher them towards the stadium."
Police said that one person had been arrested after an alleged disturbance. A spokesperson for the police said: "One man was arrested following an alleged disturbance involving a small number of fans in Gallowgate on Saturday afternoon.
"Around 50 fans where then walked to the stadium by officers."
We told you yesterday how Airdrie fans claim cops prevented them from walking along the Kinloch Street area before they were kept in the spot for 20 minutes.
Celtic supporters are then alleged to have thrown bottles and coins as well as other items, leaving a 75-year-old fan with a head injury and others - including children - hurt by flying objects.
The statement racked up hundreds of likes and shares with supporters of both sides getting involved.
Scottish Sun Online contacted Airdrie Supporters Trust asking if they had picture or video evidence to support their claims.
A spokesperson said: “Following yesterday’s Trust statement, we are currently looking at our options on the next course of action and will be meeting with representatives of Airdrieonians FC tomorrow.
"Once there is a plan on how to proceed we will notify our members and all supporters of the club.
"We strongly feel the need to pursue this matter in the name of those who were affected on the day, and to help avoid a repetition happening in the future.”
star It comes after footage surfaced of cops battling with both home and away supporters before kick-off.
And officers confirmed four arrests were made following the clash.
We told you earlier how a footie fan who allegedly punched three police horses and threw bottles and lit cigarettes at cops on his way to Parkhead is set to stand trial.
Kevin McGuire, 35, is accused of “causing unnecessary suffering” to Nerston, Oban and Glasgow on Kinloch Street before the Scottish Cup clash between Celtic and Airdrieonians.
Celtic, Airdrie and the SFA have all been approached for comment.

Charlton fan crunches own player during wild goal celebrations
Charlton Athletic earned a hard-fought 1-0 win over Accrington Stanley on Saturday, a result that sees them remain in 4th place and firmly in the promotion hunt in League 1. The three points were delivered courtesy of a Karl Grant penalty deep in injury team, a goal that understandably sparked wild celebrations for the home fans.
All the ecstasy of the moment, however, was cut short for centre back Krystian Bielik, who was inadvertently crunched by a Charlton supporter whilst celebrating with his team.
Fortunately for us the moment was captured perfectly.
The culprit you're looking for appears on 00:18, as a fan in a brown jacket sprints, out of nowhere, to join the throng of players and supporters hugging. As he does this, he slips on the suspect looking turf at The Valley and flies, studs up, firmly in the direction of poor Krystian Bielik.
