England and Colombia fans clash in Moscow metro leaving one with broken nose as 30 arrested over fight inside stadium

Season 18/19 - July 18070811155147355

ENGLAND and Colombia fans reportedly clashed in a Moscow metro following last night's nail-biting shoot out.

In the footage which surfaced online, it's claimed the row left one fan with a broken nose after an England fan stepped on a Colombian flag.

England are through to the quarter-finals after knocking the Colombian team out of the World Cup in a tense penalty shootout victory last night in Moscow.

But after the match, tempers reportedly flared on the city's metro train as a fight broke out between fans.

Caught on camera by a reporter for Russian online sports site Championat, Dmitry Egorov said he saw "a small fight in the metro" a Colombian fan "had his nose damaged".

It's claimed the fight started after an England fan walked on a Colombian flag.

Police arrived to stop the row, and according to the reporter, two England fans were detained following the incident.

In the footage, an supporter believed to be an England fan can be seen apologising while a Colombia fan has a bloodied jersey.

Russian news agency Interfax reported 30 fans were detained following last night's match in Moscow.

The behaviour of English fans at the match was also blasted by Russia's largest newspaper over an incident in which plastic beer "glasses" were hurled by rival fans in the stadium.

Supporters of the two teams clashed inside the stadium, reported Komsomoslskaya Pravda, as “fans tried to lay their hands on each other,” an online report said.

They said: “It was not like a classic fight but still it was something unpleasant. And then a ‘glass fight’ followed, the English and Colombians began to throw beer glasses at each other, scaring the stewards, who spotted the hooligans very quickly.”

The paper said: “it was the first kind of riots spotted during our championship... We want to believe that it was the first and last time.”

A comment on the video report said: “There was no trouble in Russia while the English were at home thinking that Russia is dangerous. But once they came, they started getting into fights, painting the monuments."

'Pathetic' and 'embarrassing' England World Cup fans violently clash in huge Kent beer garden brawl

Season 18/19 - July 180708112155586754

Tempers flared in England’s win over Colombia on the pitch in the Spartak Stadium, but back home shocking footage has emerged of supporters fighting each other while watching the match.

A beer garden in Kent was the scene as a large brawl broke out between England fans which was momentarily stopped by security.

Up to 20 people men and women were involved in the fight which saw groups of people punch each other and throw beer.

Security guards tried to break up the ruck which quickly escalated but could do little to prevent people getting involved.

England fans storm Ikea Stratford singing ‘It’s Coming Home’ after Three Lions’ World Cup quarter-final win against Sweden

JUBILANT England fans today invaded a branch of Ikea singing 'It's Coming Home' after the Three Lions quarter final win against Sweden.

The cheeky group managed to infiltrate the Stratford branch of the Swedish founded flat pack giant to continue their celebrations.

Video from the store shows the group dancing and singing shortly after England booked their place in the World Cup semi final by beating Sweden 2-0.

An IKEA spokesperson said: “We are aware of a small group of fans celebrating the match result in one of our stores.

"Being both British and Swedish, we were on the edge of our seats during the game and we would like to say ‘Grattis!’ (that’s congratulations in Swedish) to the England team for getting through to the semi-finals.

"In celebration, we’ve put one of the nation’s favourite dishes, fish and chips, on offer for just £1. Visit IKEA.co.uk for more information.”

Police make a number of arrests following 'shameful' behaviour after England's win against Sweden

A number of arrests have been made after "shameless behaviour" led to a taxi being trashed and bus stops being smashed following England's win against Sweden.

Footage emerged on Saturday night of two men jumping up and down on a Nottingham Cars taxi parked just off Old Market Square.

The two videos show the men on top of the silver car with hundreds of people watching and cheering.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: "We were first on scene to assist the taxi driver of this vehicle and help him retrieve his personal belongings from the car.

"Shameful behaviour from some members of the public tonight.

"Fortunately the driver is safe and unharmed, but will not be able to work for a while."

It is not yet known if any arrests have been made in regards to this incident, but police have confirmed that "a number of arrests" were made throughout the evening.

Bus stops were also smashed in Friar Lane and England fans climbed onto the roof of buildings.

Police added: "The force had lots of additional resources deployed throughout Nottingham city centre due to a number of venues showing the football.

"A number of arrests have been made in the city for public order offences."

The force said it will be organising more officers ahead of the semi-final against Croatia on Wednesday night.

Riot police fire teargas at unruly France fans celebrating World Cup final place

Celebrations in Paris turned ugly on the Champs-Élysées after France beat Belgium 1-0 to qualify for the World Cup final. Some fans were filmed throwing flares, street furniture and other projectiles at riot police, who in response fired teargas to clear the avenue. Debris including plastic traffic barriers, metal railings and even a sofa were all placed in the middle of the street after thousands massed near the Arc de Triomphe monument to celebrate the French victory.

French riot police forced to clear Champs-Elysees with tear gas as World Cup celebrations spill over

Riot police fired tear gas at crowds on the Champs-Elysees in a bid to restore control as celebrations following France's World Cup semi-final victory descended into violence in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The euphoria following Les Bleus' 1-0 win over neighbouring Belgium soured as the night wore on, with reports of injuries emerging as trouble flared across the country.

More than two dozen fans were hurt in a stampede triggered by firecrackers in Nice, while in Paris fans were spotted throwing bottles and stones at police.

However, violence soon erupted, as dozens of fans were filmed running down the main street with flares and throwing debris – including metal barriers and traffic cones – at police, who responded by charging at them.

In Nice, footage showed people running through a restaurant screaming, while images emerged of shaken onlookers standing around overturned tables and chairs, the ground littered with broken glass.

The incident has underscored how the city remains on edge two years after an Isis terrorist drove a refrigerator truck through a crowd celebrating Bastille Day, killing 86 people.

“There was a crowd surge after firecrackers were detonated,” Jean-Gabriel Delacroix from the city prefecture said, adding that 27 people were injured. “Most of the injuries are glass cuts and bruising picked up when people fell.”

French cops deploy tear gas & water cannons to contain fan frenzy after World Cup win

While a wave of jubilant celebrations has swept across France following Les Bleus’ FIFA World Cup victory, sporadic clashes between police and over-excited fans erupted in several cities amid the nationwide football fest.

As the nation cheered the French 4-2 triumph over Croatia, some hardcore fans could not contain their excitement, somewhat spoiling the historic evening with violence. While most Parisians took to the Champs Elysees, a few rowdy fans started thrashing the side streets of Paris.

Parisian law enforcement officers had to deploy tear gas and water cannons to stop unruly groups from vandalizing the streets of the capital, damaging shops and setting trash cans on fire.

The party mood was also ruined in Marseille, where firecrackers, smoke flares, and projectiles were thrown at police lines. Law enforcement had to intervene using tear gas to suppress the crowd, which also smashed car windows and set trash cans on fire. At least 10 arrests were made, according to reports.

"Shops including the Publicis Drugstore close to the Arc de Triomphe were ransacked. Windows were smashed and officers who intervened were attacked. There have been scenes of absolute chaos that have spoiled the party."

As the trouble intensified, the authorities shut all transport links, including Metro services and other local trains

There was also serious trouble in the eastern city of Lyon, where hundreds of youths went on the rampage, attacking cars and setting fire to wheelie-bins.

Several graceless incidents also took place in Lyon, where fans targeted the police by throwing empty cans at them. Centering around the Bellecour area, where a fan zone had been set up to welcome the public, the restless crowd did not shy away from expressing their emotions with violence. The police fired back using tear gas. Firefighters also had to intervene to extinguish fires set to trash cans.

Tragic twist as two die in wild French party

FRANCE'S World Cup celebrations have been marred after two fans died and police were forced to fire tear gas amid clashes with football fans.

Cops used water canons on crowds after the country became two-time world champions after beating Croatia 4-2 in Moscow, The Sun reports.

In the Alpine city of Annecy a 50-year-old France fan broke his neck after jumping into a canal at the end of the team's 4-2 triumph over Croatia in Moscow on Sunday.

Then, in nearby Saint-Felix, there was another death when a man in his 30s died when his car crashed into a tree as he celebrated the win.

Such accidents were accompanied by baton charges by CRS riot squads as tear gas was used to keep crowds in order.

World Cup 2018: 292 French arrested after night of RIOTS – 2 dead - 16/07/2018

Source : https://www.dailystar.co.uk/

A TOTAL of 292 people were arrested in France last night as violence erupted across the country following last night’s World Cup win.

Cops used water canons on crowds when the country became two-time world champions after beating Croatia 4-2 in Moscow.

Two fans died during the celebrations.

In the Alpine city of Annecy, a 50-year-old France fan died after breaking his neck when he jumped into a canal at the end of the team’s World Cup win.

Then, in nearby Saint-Felix, there was another death when a man in his 30s crashed his car into a tree as he celebrated the win.

Elsewhere, riot squads used tear gas to keep crowds in order.

The most violent disturbances took place in Paris on Sunday, where 102 people were arrested, and 92 taken to cells.

Michel Delpuech, the Paris Prefect, said: ‘Given the crowd present and despite unacceptable disorder, we have record a measured balance sheet.’

There was more trouble of Monday morning, when riot police had to attend the Nike store on the Champs Elysee.

This was because crowds built up to try and get hold of the new France shirt, complete with two stars to signify two World Cup wins.

Following minor scuffles, it was announced that the garments would not in fact be put on general sale until Tuesday.

Meanwhile, police remained in situ in preparation for a victory parade by Les Bleus team when they get back from Russia later today

A police source in Paris said: "Rioting broke out soon after midnight as large crowds refused to disperse.

"Shops including the Publicis Drugstore close to the Arc de Triumphe were ransacked.

"Windows were smashed and officers who intervened were attacked.

"There have been scenes of absolute chaos that have spoiled the party."

Some of the worst scenes were in central Paris, where the Champs Élysées remained closed in the early hours of Monday following widespread rioting and looting.

As the trouble intensified, the authorities shut all transport links, including Metro services and other local trains.

More than 4,000 police and security forces had been deployed across the French capital in case of trouble following France’s first World Cup win for 20 years.

There was also serious trouble in the eastern city of Lyon, where hundreds of youths went on the rampage, attacking cars and setting fire to wheelie-bins.

Public fountains and other monuments in cities such as Bordeaux and Marseille, as well as Lyon, were filled with youths brandishing flares and throwing bottles.

French police fired tear gas and dispersed crowds from the Champs Elysees late on Sunday after clashes with a small group of unruly fans threatened to spoil the celebrations.

France had mobilised around 110,000 security staff for the Bastille Day festivities on Saturday and World Cup soccer final on Sunday.

Fans parties in the streets as thousands gathered at the Eiffel Tower and Champ de Mars to watch their nation in action on the big screen.

Legia Warsaw - Cork City - 17/07/2018

Cork City fan claims supporters were pepper-sprayed in Polish pub

Cork City were taking on Polish champions Legia Warsaw on Tuesday night in a Champions League qualifier.

City fan Con told The Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's Red FM that they were pepper-sprayed for "no reason whatsoever."

The 68-year-old said the British Bulldog Pub had been their local for days leading up to the match and there had not been "a bit of bother."

He said roughly 50 or 60 fans had been in the bar in the smoking area.

Con told the show that he had worked in bars all his life and that he "can smell trouble a mile away."

He said if there was trouble he would have seen it and "would have been out the door like a shot myself.

"There was no trouble whatsoever. All they [the fans] did was sing and dance. That was it.

And this young barman for some reason just came out...I was looking at him...I didn't know what it was first until he hit me. And then people started getting sick and their eyes were burning.

"Now one guy did kick the door after. But that was after we were pepper-sprayed."

Con said his eyes were burning and he felt sick after the incident.

Describing what it felt like to be pepper-sprayed, Con said: "It's a burning sensation in your throat. You can hardly see. Your eyes burn and your throat burns.

"It's a horrible, horrible feeling.

"A lot of guys did get sick. There were two of three guys getting sick in the bar within two minutes."

A head-bartender at the pub told Buzz.ie that the fans had been aggressive and had broken a window.

He told the publication that fans had been asked to leave, but "they started to get on the tables, shouted, and destroyed wall lamps."

The fans were also warned that pepper-spray would be used a self-defence if they didn't stop.

When Prendeville put it to Con, he described it as "lies".

"We were never told to leave," he said. "They stopped serving at half past 12, that was it, and we left. We were leaving - we were finishing our drinks.

"If they had given us another 20 minutes, everyone would have been gone and there'd have been no trouble."

"It was one barman - a young fella, I'd say he was early 20s - he caused all the trouble in there. He had a fierce attitude towards the people. And he was the one that pepper-sprayed us."

Marseille: French side fined and face European ban for fans' behaviour - 25/07/2018

Source : https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/44958826

French side Marseille face a one-year suspension from European competitions unless the behaviour of their fans improve, Uefa have announced.

Season 18/19 - July 180726092530798771

Last season's Europa League runners-up have been ordered to play their next European home game behind closed doors and have been fined £88,774.

Further sanctions include a partial closure of the Stade Velodrome for their following home game in Europe.

Liverpool have also been fined £7,101 for their fans' conduct against Roma.

Last season's Champions League finalists were charged for having fans set off fireworks, the throwing of objects and crowd disturbances in their semi-final first-leg win at Anfield on 24 April.

Marseille were punished for the same offences, as well as acts of damage and late kick-offs in matches against RB Leipzig and FC Salzburg.

They have also been ordered to contact Lyon, in whose stadium the final against Atletico Madrid took place, in order to pay for the damage caused by their supporters.

Uefa have told Marseille, who finished fourth in Ligue 1 last season and qualified for the Europa League, that their "exclusion from Uefa competition is deferred for a probationary period of two years".
