Police make arrests and eject fan at Lincoln v Grimsby match
People were arrested ahead of Lincoln City FC's local derby clash against arch rivals Grimsby Town FC.
Lincolnshire Police said several fans were also sent on their way as trouble flared on Saturday, March 17.
One supporter was arrested on suspicion of affray and two were arrested on suspicion of pyro offences.
There was a large police presence around Lincoln city centre and inside the ground during an operation which aimed to keep fans and shoppers safe.
Police tweeted that the majority of fans were good natured but wrote of their disappointment that supporters from both sides had let off smoke bombs.
One fan was ejected from the home end at Sincil Bank during the match. But police reported there were no issues after the game, which Lincoln won 3-1.
A video entitled Lincoln City v Grimsby Town fans fighting has been posted on YouTube which shows people exchanging punches in the High Street.
A number of ant-social behaviour notices were issued in relation to an altercation in the High Street between a group of fans from both sides.
ACC West said: "Thankfully, nobody was seriously hurt and we will investigate this in due course.
"Our officers attended, the two groups were separated, and ASB notices were issued to those involved. This meant those people had to leave the area and so any potential further trouble was avoided.
“These notices are effective because they not only protect any public in the area from ASB, in this case mainly shoppers in Lincoln, but also stop any negative behaviour escalating and therefore protect the individuals who are themselves issued with the notice. I’m confident this was an effective and proportionate course of action in this instance."
The game drew the highest attendance at Sincil Bank this season with 9,774 fans, of which 1,696 were Grimsby supporters.
ACC Shaun West added: "I would like to make very clear that the majority of people who attended this match were there in support of their team and for the love of the game.
"Tickets for this match were sold out, meaning the stadium was at capacity of around 10,000, so the individuals who caused these minor problems were very much in the minority. That’s the way it should be.

France : Ten Lille supporters detained over weekend pitch invasion - 15/03/2018
Source : www.chicagotribune.com/
Ten people were placed in custody on Thursday as part of an investigation into last weekend's pitch invasion in Lille by angry home supporters, the public prosecutor's department said.
They were detained over "entry to a sports area compromising the security of property and people" and for "inciting hate and/or violence during a sporting event", according to prosecutors.
Supporters got onto the pitch at Lille's Stade Pierre-Mauroy at the end of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Montpellier in Ligue 1.
Some of the fans shouted insults and even aimed kicks at players, including Nicolas Pepe, the Ivory Coast forward whose goal had earned Lille a draw.
The supporters -- upwards of a hundred in number -- then gathered by the entrance to the players tunnel, below where incredulous directors were watching on, but were held back by stewards.
Prosecutors in the northern French city said they had ordered the opening of an investigation into the incidents on Sunday morning and that Lille lodged their own complaints for "aggravated violence, criminal damage and death threats" shortly after.

Cologne win derby battle after hooligan clashes leave several injured
Around 400 football hooligans clashed in the western city of Leverkusen ahead of the local derby between Bayer Leverkusen and Cologne. The incidents followed clashes between fans and police in Hamburg on Saturday.
Several people were injured during violent clashes between German football hooligans on Saturday night ahead of Sunday's Rhineland derby between Bundesliga rivals Cologne and Bayer Leverkusen.
Police took the details of just under 200 people, confiscated weapons and combat gloves, and have launched an investigation into breach of the peace and grevious bodily harm.
Around 250 hardcore Bayer Leverkusen "ultras" had attended their team's final training session on Saturday afternoon where they had encouraged the players with banners and pyrotechnics - the smoke from which temporarily affected traffic on the A1 motorway which runs parallel to Bayer Leverkusen's training pitches.
Clashes
Following the training session, the Leverkusen ultras attended the Bayer Giants' basketball game before retiring to their local "Stadioneck" pub, when cars carrying rival Cologne hooligans appeared at approximately 21:30 CET.
According to Cologne police, they were immediately attacked by the Leverkusen fans who had donned balaclavas and armed themselves with bats and car registration plates.
Simultaneously, police report a second group of around 150 Cologne hooligans wearing white tshirts and supported by allied hooligans from Dortmund attacked the Leverkusen fans.
A video posted on Instagram shows the mob of Cologne hooligans pursuing the Leverkusen fans through the city center, where the fans then dispersed.
At approximately 22:00 CET, police took the details of around 80 Cologne hooligans at Leverkusen train station, who were about to board a train back to Cologne. Simultaneously, police took the details of around 100 Leverkusen fans at the "Stadioneck" pub.
"The injured also dispersed and didn't identify themselves," concluded the statement from Cologne police.
Ahead of kick-off, Bayer Leverkusen supporters set off flares and smoke bombs in the away end but no other incidents were reported.

On Saturday, fans of struggling Hamburg also clashed with police following their team's 2-1 defeat to Hertha Berlin. Following Cologne's win, HSV are bottom of the table and facing almost certain relegation from the Bundesliga for the first time in the club's history.
Scuffles broke out among the supporters themselves after the final whistle before some fans also attacked police.
Nine people were injured (six stewards, one policeman and two HSV fans).

Lyon risks season ban by UEFA for fan racism, disorder - 19/03/2018
Source : https://www.foxsports.com/
Europa League final host Lyon is at risk of a one-season ban from UEFA competitions after more fan disorder.
UEFA says it has charged Lyon for incidents including ”racist behavior” and ”crowd disturbances” at a Europa League home game against CSKA Moscow on Thursday. Lyon was eliminated from the competition and lost the chance to reach the final at home.
Last April, UEFA put Lyon on two-year probation after fan disorder delayed a Europa League quarterfinal match against Besiktas.
The French club could be barred from Europe when UEFA makes a judgment on the case.

Dutch police detain 90 England supporters for violence
Dutch police detained 90 England football supporters Friday for public order breaches ahead of their team’s friendly international against the Netherlands in Amsterdam.
Police in the Dutch capital said in a tweet that one supporter was injured and sent to a hospital for treatment.
Dutch media showed footage of England fans chanting in Amsterdam’s Red Light District and police moving in to disperse them.
Trouble started in Amsterdam on Thursday night, when police detained 25 England fans for throwing beer bottles at officers.
There was no sign of trouble at the Amsterdam Arena on the southern edge of the Dutch capital where the two teams were playing Friday night.
Dutch police said about 1,500 England fans traveled to the Dutch capital for the match.

More than 100 arrests made by police over two days in Amsterdam
Ninety England fans were arrested in Amsterdam on Friday after travelling to the Dutch city for the national side's friendly against the Netherlands.
That took the total number of arrests over two days beyond 100, after 25 supporters were held on Thursday.
Riot police detained 60 people in the red light district, officers said.
A number of fans booed the Dutch national anthem before England's 1-0 victory, an act manager Gareth Southgate described as "unacceptable".
There were 5,253 fans in the away section at the Amsterdam Arena.
A police spokesman said the arrests were mainly for "disturbing the peace".
"Some were arrested because they were throwing beer bottles in the direction of officers," a statement read.
"When we arrested that group it became quiet in the red light district. There were still hundreds of English people staying but they were not causing any problems."
Riot police were set to remain in Amsterdam to ensure there was no trouble following the match.
Speaking about the arrests, Southgate said: "Without knowing the details, obviously it's not something I want to hear because I think our players have represented their country really well with pride and with some style.
"Anything else that takes away from that performance for them would be a great shame."

Fifa investigates alleged racist abuse of France players by Russia fans
Fifa is investigating alleged racist abuse directed at French players by Russia fans during a pre-World Cup friendly between the countries.
A Reuters photographer at pitch level for France’s 3-1 win on Tuesday in St Petersburg claims to have heard monkey chants directed at French players on several occasions, including when N’Golo Kante came to the sideline for a throw-in.
“Fifa is collecting the different match reports and potential evidence in regards to the discriminatory incident reported in the media, including the one from the Fare observer who was present at the game,” Fifa said in a statement, referring to a network that combats discrimination in European football.
The incident sparked calls to persevere in the fight against racism in football with less than three months before the World Cup. French sports minister Laura Flessel-Colovic wrote on Twitter: “Racism has no place on soccer fields. We must act together at the European and international level to stop this intolerable behaviour.”
Russia has pledged to crack down on racism as the country faces increased scrutiny before this year’s World Cup, which it will host from 14 June to 15 July in 11 cities including Moscow, St Petersburg and Sochi.

Zenit St. Petersburg charged with fan racism by UEFA - 21/03/2018
Source : https://www.washingtonpost.com/
UEFA has charged Russian club Zenit St. Petersburg with fan racism in a Europa League game.
Zenit fans have been accused of racist behavior and throwing objects during last week’s game against Leipzig, which saw the Russian team eliminated 3-2 on aggregate.
The case will be heard on May 31, about two weeks before Russia hosts the World Cup.
UEFA hasn’t provided any details of the incident. However, the anti-discrimination FARE Network has said there were chants mocking an injured black player.
It is Zenit’s second racism case of the season. It was fined in December for fans displaying a giant banner honoring Bosnian Serb war criminal Ratko Mladic.
