Germany - England - Friendly - 22/03/2017
Source : https://www.thelocal.de/
On Tuesday evening, police in Düsseldorf were confronted by the first signs of trouble from English fans, Ruhr Nachrichten reports.
About 700 English fans had met in the alleys and bars of the city centre to drink together. Police stepped in to send some aggressive fans away, but had bottles thrown at them by the crowd. Two people were taken into custody. On the same evening 37 German gang-members were also stopped at the edge of the Düsseldorf old city, reportedly on their way to fight the English fans. They were all taken into custody by police. Dortmund police have also increased security ahead of the friendly international due to previous experience of riotous English hooligans.
"We have more officers on duty than for a game against Spain or Jamaica for example," police spokesman Gunnar Wortmann told DPA on Tuesday.
There have already been significantly more police deployed in the city in preparation for the game, with many assigned to train stations and inside trains around the city. The biggest police presence, however, will be around the city centre and the stadium. A police spokeswoman refused to disclose to The Local how many police were on the streets, but said that they will "react to the continuous assessments of the situation with appropriate force."
The spokeswoman also said that Dortmund police have had previous experience with English football fans when club supporters have travelled to the city for European games. "English football fans are a celebratory people, who do not say no to alcohol," she added.
But she also noted that "as long as everything stays peaceful, we won't hold fans back from celebrating." The traditional rivalry between English and German fans has caused clashes before, and German police have prepared for hooliganism from the English at previous games too.
English fans garner lots of respect from hooligans around Europe, having been famous for riotous and destructive behaviour in the 1970s and 80s. Many German hooligans even still say they admire English fans.

Source : http://www.salisburyjournal.co.uk/
Football fans clash ahead of match
POLICE trying to keep the peace between two sets of football fans ahead of this afternoon's game have already been dealing with a disturbance in the city centre. Kick-off between Hereford FC and Salisbury FC is 3pm at the Ray Mac and at around 2pm police were called to The Five Bells in Salt Lane. Four police cars attended with around ten police officers. Inspector Simon Cowdrey said: "We are trying to keep the two sets of fans separate to keep the peace and prevent any disturbance, and allow everybody to watch the game this afternoon.
"We are here to keep an eye on it - quite a few are going to the game and we want to make sure the people of Salisbury can go on with their normal business without being affected by it." There have been some concerns about the behaviour of a small minority of Hereford supporters following recent incidents at away games, and some online speculation regarding potential problems at the weekend’s match. Extra safety stewards and police are on duty. Earlier this week Inspector Pete Sparrow said police were working with both football clubs and licensed premises in the city. He said: “I would encourage all fans to continue to behave responsibly and if they have any concerns to approach officers or club staff to make them aware.”

Italy beat Albania in match marred by crowd trouble
Italy survived some first-half scares on the way to a 2-0 win over Albania in a World Cup qualifier marred by crowd trouble caused by away fans on Friday. A Daniele De Rossi penalty and Ciro Immobile header gave Italy three points in Group G as their veteran goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon made his 1,000th senior appearance. De Rossi had to wait to take his penalty when two firecrackers were thrown onto the pitch by Albania fans behind the goal. The match was then interrupted for nearly 10 minutes in the second half as Albania fans set up more firecrackers, creating a cloud of smoke over Buffon's penalty area. The match resumed after the Albania players appealed to their supporters for calm.

Cagliari ultras were involved in what has been described as ‘urban warfare’ with Torres supporters ahead of a friendly match. The 200 fans made the short trip to Sassari for the game against Promozione-level local side Sorso, but were greeted at the station by Torres ultras armed with fireworks, smoke-bombs and sticks. According to local reports, a brawl erupted as the two sets of supporters fought a running battle down the streets close to the station. Police intervened to bring calm, but at least four or five people are reportedly in hospital undergoing treatment for their injuries. This was supposed to be a friendly match, but the Torres ultras evidently prepared an ambush.

Russian football fans stabbed in Belgrade; unclear by whom - 27/03/2017
Source : http://www.b92.net/
Three Russian football fans were injured late on Saturday in Belgrade when as yet unknown assailants inflicted stab wounds on them.
The fans, who were in the Serbian capital for a Red Star (Crvena Zvezda) Belgrade - Spartak Moscow friendly, came under attack in Kralja Milutina Street. Two were taken to the Serbian Clinical Center's Emergency Center, one in a critical condition, while the third victim was treated at the scene. The Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) made no statement about the incident until the media broke the news. The MUP then confirmed that the fight took place, but not that the injured persons were Russian citizens. This left room for speculation and various versions of the event.
On its Russian language website, Russia's TASS reported that the Russian fans came under attack by supporters of Red Star's crosstown rivals, Partizan. But the agency's English website said the attackers were "Albanians."
"Eyewitnesses said the group of Russian and Serbian fans, who were marching with flags after the match on Saturday, were attacked by the Albanians. The fans chased the attackers away, but three persons were wounded," the English language report said.
"A group of Russian and Serbian fans were marching with the flags of their clubs after a match between Moscow’s Spartak and Serbian football club Crvena Zvezda (Red Star) on Saturday, when they were attacked by fans of Belgrade’s Partizan club in central Belgrade. The conflict sparked off over a red-and-white scarf one of the fans was wearing. Three Russian fans were taken to hospital."
The same source said that the police had launched an investigation and already had two persons in custody.
Russia's Sputnik website, meanwhile, is reporting that the attackers were not football supporters, but "a group of people."
Russian embassy media attache Yury Pichugin confirmed that two Russian citizens were injured during the incident, and named them as Maxim Butrin and Pavel Bodrov, adding that "for now, the Serbia police are dealing with this case."
The website also said it learned that the more seriously injured Russian had surgery and that his life is not in danger, while the police continue to look for the attackers.
The home side won (2-1) the Red Star-Spartak friendly, dubbed "the brotherly derby."

Police on high alert for fan trouble as West Ham's London derby with Tottenham moved to Friday night - 31/03/2017
Source : http://www.independent.co.uk/
The London Stadium experienced a lot of fan trouble at the start of the season
West Ham’s London derby with Tottenham has been moved to a Friday night, with a heavy police presence expected over fears rival fans will clash. The game will now take place on Friday 5th May and is likely to attract extra security at the London Stadium given the crowd trouble there in derbies earlier in the season. Chelsea and West Ham fans clashed during October of last year when the Hammers knocked the Blues out of the EFL Cup on a Wednesday night game.
Seven supporters were arrested after fighting broke out in the stands while others were banned for abusive language and throwing missiles. It was the most severe case of fan violence West Ham experienced at their new home with trouble also against Middlesbrough and Watford as supporters adjusted to their new surroundings. That sort of trouble has not been seen since but there are fears that it could return for the Friday night game with Spurs – notoriously a volatile fixture anyway. It will be the first Friday night game at the London Stadium with the game being moved for TV, despite Sky Sports’ poor viewing figures for the time slot so far this season.

Barcelona fined by Uefa for pitch invasion after incredible PSG comeback - 23/03/2017
Source : http://www.independent.co.uk/
Barcelona have been fined €19,000 (£16,372) for the pitch invasion which followed their extraordinary 6-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain. Luis Enrique’s side completed one of the most remarkable comebacks in Champions League history earlier this month, bouncing back from a 4-0 first leg defeat to the Ligue 1 champions. Sergi Roberto’s decisive stoppage-time goal sparked wild celebrations in the Nou Camp, with some supporters entering the field of play after the final whistle. Uefa, European football’s governing body, have now fined the Catalan club €19,000 for a “field invasion by supporters” contravening Art. 16 (2) of the organisation’s disciplinary regulations.
