England : Police hunt 18 fans over violence at Millwall vs Leicester football match - 01/03/2017
Source : http://www.standard.co.uk/
Police are trying to trace 18 football fans in connection with violence that marred the end of the Millwall FA cup win over Leicester last month.
Scotland Yard today issued images of fans they are trying to trace following the disorder between both sets of supporters.
After the final whistle at the match, in which Millwall defeated Leicester 1-0, there was a pitch invasion by home fans at The Den and missiles, including seats and bottles were thrown.
Detective Chief Inspector John Oldham, from Specialist Crime and Operations Public Order Branch, said: “This was despicable behaviour and has absolutely no place at a football match. It was pure luck that no-one was badly hurt.
“Supporters should be in no doubt that anyone involved in or responsible for the disorder will be dealt with robustly and once identified, we will seek to arrest them and put them before the courts.
There is no place for this kind of behaviour and I would urge anyone who recognises who any of these people are to get in touch with us.”

Germany : Stadium bans for 88 Dortmund fans after combat cache discovered - 03/03/2017
Source : http://pulse.ng/
The gang of 88 were stopped en route to a game at Darmstadt on February 11 and sent back to Dortmund.
Nearly 100 Borussia Dortmund fans have been banned from Bundesliga stadiums nationwide for up to two years after police stopped them in possession of combat equipment, the German FA (DFB) said Thursday. The gang of 88 were stopped en route to a game at Darmstadt on February 11 and sent back to Dortmund, a week after Dortmund fans attacked women and children from visiting RB Leipzig. "The duration of the bans has been determined mainly by the age of the people, but also according to their past behaviour," Hendrik Grosse Lefert, chief security officer for the DFB, said. The minimum nationwide stadium ban handed out was four months for the gang, who were found with flares, helmets and combat sport gloves. Dortmund were punished following the Leipzig incidents with the closure of its South Stand, which holds 24,000 spectators, for the next match.

England : Newcastle and Everton football hooligans clash in vicious pub brawl - where thug uses his crutch as weapon - 03/03/2017
Source : http://www.mirror.co.uk/
Disturbing footage from the Black Bull near St James' Park shows notorious hooligan Darren Brindley headbutting a man before another wades in with crutch
Football hooligans from Everton and Newcastle have been captured on CCTV being caught up in a vicious pub brawl, with one thug even using his crutch as a weapon.
In the disturbing footage, notorious Newcastle United yob Darren Brindley is seen headbutting Everton fan Joseph Kinsella, sparking a mass punch-up.
John Murray, another Everton fan, is then seen wading into the vicious clash wielding his crutch.
The brawl came after Everton beat the Magpies by a goal to nil at St James' Park on Boxing Day 2015, in the Premier League season Newcastle were later relegated to the Championship, reports Chronicle Live.
Pride among rival factions triggered the mass brawl at the Black Bull near Newcastle's stadium, with one of the Everton fans later telling police: “I had to fight because it’s a firm thing" - a reference to football gangs.
Brindley has previously been jailed for 26 months for affray and breaching a suspended sentence for his part in the violence. He was also given a Football Banning Order.
Now the Merseyside faction have been given suspended prison sentences and Football Banning Orders at Newcastle Crown Court.
Judge Amanda Rippon told them: “As is often the case, when violence develops among people who have been drinking in a pub, a melee ensued and a number of people involved themselves.
“Tables were thrown, including by you, Kinsella and you, Murray, picked up a table and when this broke out, you used your crutch as a weapon.
“There was more violence outside and members of the public walked past, including a woman with two very young children.
“Violence at football matches is reprehensible under any circumstances. It damages the reputation of a game which you purport to love.
“Both of you couldn’t complain if I locked you up.”
The court heard Kinsella and Murray had been to see their team play Newcastle on December 26, 2015 at St James’ Park.
Prosecutors said Kinsella was booted out during the first half of the game and Murray left with him and they went to The Black Bull - although Kinsella insists he left of his own accord.
The two men were socialising without incident until Brindley entered the pub and spoke to Kinsella and trouble flared.
Brindley later claimed he was called a “Geordie b******”.
Prosecutor Michael Bunch said: “Brindley headbutted Kinsella, who pushed him back.
“Kinsella and Brindley were fighting and Murray raised a crutch and swung it in the air, trying to hit out at the group.
“Kinsella picked up a table and swung it.
“CCTV outside shows Murray waving the crutch about and Brindley was brandishing the other crutch at him.
“There was something of a stand off.
“Kinsella knocked a man to the ground outside the pub.
“The incident continued until a police car arrived.”
The court heard Brindley was a known Newcastle hooligan and Kinsella a recognised Everton yob. Both men are classed as an “identified risk” by police spotters because of past behaviour, although the Merseyside pair have no convictions for football related violence.
Murray was arrested at the scene and interviewed by police.
Mr Bunch said: “He said he was at the football watching the game and went to the pub.
“He said after that it all kicked off and his mate got headbutted.
“He said when his friend, Kinsella, asked where the nearest off licence was, he was headbutted and he, Murray, lost it and hit out with the crutch.
“He said ‘I had to fight because it’s a firm thing’, a reference to rival football gangs.”
Kinsella, 24, from, Liverpool and Murray, 26, of Kirby, Merseyside, admitted affray in relation to events outside the pub.
Kinsella got 10 months in prison suspended for two years and Murray eight months suspended for two years.
Both men must also do 180 hours of unpaid work and were given three year Football Banning Orders.
Brendan Carville, for Kinsella, said: “It’s arguable in the pub he was the victim and he has pleaded guilty to affray outside.
“Outside, he should have gone across the road to the where the coaches were but he didn’t.
“He has worked as a bank teller in the past and was working as a taxi driver at this time.
“He says his days of going to football matches are over.
“He is a normal working man ordinarily who on this occasion lost it and he apologises.”
Christopher Morrison, for Murray, said his father, who helps organise away trips for fans, was injured in the fracas.
He added that warehouseman Murray had helped with the Bradley Lowery cancer appeal and has no history of offending.
Mr Morrison said: “There is a wider picture of this man than is shown on the CCTV.”
Last year Brindley, 44, from Heaton, Newcastle, who armed himself with one of Murray’s crutches during the violence, was jailed for 26 months for affray and breaching a suspended sentence and was also given a Football Banning Order.

Brawl of 30 in Surry Hills disperses when police arrive
Horrified onlookers said a large group of 15 “roused-up” men started walking towards Central Station on Devonshire St before grabbing nearby roadworks poles, about 6pm.
They then clashed with another group of 15 males walking in the opposite direction.
Police are investigating whether the men were footy fans on their way to the Sydney FC clash against Melbourne at Allianz Stadium.
Video footage shows the large group of men throwing the poles at one another.
“They started fighting at Ward Park, it all happened so quickly, there was lots of screaming and they seemed roused up before they got there,” witness Michael said.
He said police were on the scene quickly and he believed capsicum spray had been used.
Surry Hills police confirmed they received multiple triple-0 calls to Ward Park about a fight but the crowd ran away when they arrived.
Two men were arrested, however, they were released pending further investigation.

The Bulls have already been under investigation by the Football Association this season due to incidents involving their supporters.
On the pitch, a John Mills penalty brought the scores level after George Reid's free-kick opened the scoring for Didcot.

CSKA Moscow and Zenit St Petersburg hooligans fight in the stands during Russian Premier League match
Russia's hooligan problem flared up again on Saturday night when CSKA Moscow and Zenit St Petersburg supporters clashed in the stands during the Premier League match. The two clubs have a long and bitter rivalry and the goalless draw between the two title contenders at the Arena CSKA was overshadowed by off-field violence. The trouble started when the two sets of fans started goading one another through the tall metal fence that split the home and away sections.
Some of the visiting Zenit fans manage to break through, with kicks and punches flying as stewards make no effort at all to quell the trouble. A Zenit fan sets a CSKA scarf on fire before a firecracker and a number of smoke bombs are thrown over the fence before order is finally restored. A Zenit supporter is then seen climbing to the top of the dividing wall and dropping his trousers. The country has a long-standing hooligan problem that has raised serious concerns ahead of the World Cup there next year.

Russian lawmaker aims to make football hooliganism a sport - 06/03/2017
Source : http://www.dailymail.co.uk/
A Russian lawmaker has proposed an unorthodox solution to the country's problems with soccer hooliganism ahead of next year's World Cup - legalize it and make it a spectator sport.
Organized groups of Russian fans, many with martial arts training, fought English fans on the streets of Marseille during last year's European Championship. That inspired Igor Lebedev, who sits in the Russian parliament, to draw up rules for what he calls "draka," the Russian word for "fight" - 20 fighters on each side, unarmed, in an arena.
In a statement on the website of the nationalist LDPR party, Lebedev said organized brawls "could turn fans' aggression in a peaceful direction." He also claimed it would serve as an "example" for English fans, who he characterized as undisciplined louts and poor fighters.
"Russia would be a pioneer in a new sport," said Lebedev, who also suggested fights between different fan groups could draw crowds of thousands. "English fans arrive, for example, and start picking fights. And they get the answer - challenge accepted. A meeting in a stadium at a set time." Some fan groups in Russia already hold illicit fights along similar lines, typically pre-arranged mass brawls in rural locations, away from police. A Russian Premier League game on Saturday between CSKA Moscow and Zenit St. Petersburg was marred by clashes between small groups of rival fans who fought one another and tried to break through a security fence.
It isn't the first time Lebedev has courted controversy with his views on hooligans. He hailed the violence in Marseille last year, telling Russian fans: "Well done lads, keep it up!"
Besides his parliamentary duties as deputy speaker, Lebedev is also on the board of the Russian Football Union. He's a longtime associate of fan leader Alexander Shprygin, who was deported from France last year following the Marseille violence. Two board members of an organization run by Shprygin were given prison sentences.
Despite his enthusiasm for soccer-related violence, Lebedev insisted Russian policing meant foreign fans wouldn't be in danger at the World Cup. "We've taken all the safety measures, modernized legislation. Not a single tourist has any reason to fear traveling to our country in the summer of 2018."

Manchester United fans braving hooliganism and 4,500 mile round-trip to travel to Rostov for Europa League – and there’s only 238 of them going
A SMALL band of hardy Manchester United fans will endure the threat of hooliganism and a 4,500-mile round trip to watch the club in the Europa League.
The club revealed that only 238 souls are brave/stupid enough to make the long trip to watch the first leg against FC Rostov.
The city, in the south-east of Russia and 1,000 miles south of Moscow, is a 2,400-mile drive each way - or an eight-and-a-half hour flight from Manchester.
And not only are the small group of fans facing a strenuous trek, they will be met with the threat of violence when they finally arrive.
The fans have been warned not to wear club colours amid fears of potential attacks by Russian hooligans.
Letters have been sent to fans spelling out the dangers.
Incredibly, not only will United have to be mindful of Rostov fans, but have also been warned that members of other Russian firms could be attracted to the city.
A letter from by United’s Head of Ticketing and Membership, Sam Kelleher, reads: "For you safety and security you are advised not to wear Manchester United colours when in Rostov, or attract attention to you presence in the city.
"It is also advised you stay in groups where possible, and do not walk around the city alone.
"It is not just opposition football fans who may potentially pose a risk to your safety, and incidents of serious disorder during the European Championships in France last summer, involving violent individuals and groups emanating from Eastern Europe, should be remembered when considering your movements and actions, and any potential risk."
"If you are there you should calculate getting your arse kicked.
"There is no need to travel to have fun. There is a stretch of forest next to the stadium. It’s adjacent to the stadium so people can hide in the forest, go for a swim and arrange ambushes.
"They can basically do anything they like to do. For some it will be a festival of football — for others it will be a festival of violence."

Chester city centre arrest follows derby match
A confrontation between fans followed last week’s derby game between Chester FC and Tranmere Rovers resulting in one arrest, it has emerged. Police have just revealed there was an incident in Chester city centre late on Friday night (March 3) following the evening match.
Chester fans are believed to have been drinking in The Shropshire Arms in Northgate Street when a group of Tranmere supporters approached the alehouse.
Staff bolted the front door at which point outdoor furniture belonging to the pub was allegedly thrown at the windows although no panes of glass were broken. Officers attended following reports of the incident about 10.55pm.
A 49-year-old man from Observatory Road, Bidston, was arrested. Following questioning, Henry Joseph Topham, was charged with criminal damage and use of threatening and abusive language. Topham has been released on bail and is set to appear at Chester Magistrates Court on April 5.
Earlier in the evening, prior to the match, police vehicles were seen outside The Bull and Stirrup in Northgate Street, about 5.30pm. Staff say there was no trouble but officers checked on the premises as part of the policing operation. There was an incident at the match itself when a 19-year-old man was arrested for throwing a smoke grenade towards police and fans and was found to be in possession of an eight inch flare in his waistband.
A blue flare had apparently been set off in the corner of the pitch, close to both sets of fans, after Tranmere clinched a last minute winner in a match that was won 3-2 by the visiting side. The allegiance of the arrested fan is unknown.
The emotion of the late winner also spilled over into a minor pitch invasion from the away end.
Security was tight for the derby game played within the National League, the fifth tier of English football. The attendance was 3,696 including around 1,300 Tranmere fans.

England : Sheffield United fan jailed for assaulting police officer after Grimsby Town clash - 10/03/2017
Source : http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/
A man has been jailed for his role in violent disorder after Grimsby Town’s clash with Sheffield United last summer.
Derem Smith, 28, of Bridby Street, Sheffield, was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer following the match on July 23. Magistrates in Grimsby jailed him for 56 days on Tuesday after he was found guilty at trial last month. They also ordered that he pay £100 compensation and issued him with a six year football banning order. Smith was one of 29 men charged with violent disorder and police are seeking banning orders against all those convicted. Superintendent Dave Hall, of Humberside Police, said: "It is completely unacceptable that our officer was assaulted in this incident while on-duty protecting and serving the community. "We are committed to ensuring offenders are identified, charged and brought to justice, and I am pleased he has been imprisoned for his actions. “The court has clearly judged Derem Smith’s behaviour post-match as wholly unacceptable after it resulted in a six year Football Banning Order and has prevented him from attending matches across the country and causing any further disruption."
He said the vast majority of people attending sporting events were genuine fans who would welcome action to clamp down on disorder. Supt Hall added: "I would like to reiterate that there is no place for this kind of violence and disorder around what should be an enjoyable, family friendly activity, supporting your local team. “Our message is clear – behaviour of this kind will not be tolerated and we will take action to tackle anyone responsible.”

West Ham fan who ran onto the pitch to confront celebrating Chelsea players during Premier League clash is arrested as club push for ban
A West Ham supporter who ran onto the pitch to confront celebrating Chelsea players during Monday night's match at the London Stadium has been arrested. Ian Paul Crouch, 51, has been bailed to appear at court in two weeks' time, with West Ham likely to press for ban from all football stadiums around the country.
The incident occurred after Eden Hazard had fired the Blues into a 25th-minute lead. The fan - who emerged from the home end - climbed over the advertising hoardings and got to within a few feet of Hazard and his team-mates as they celebrated, before he was tackled by stewards and led away.
The EFL Cup meeting between the teams in October was marred by crowd trouble when rival supporters threw coins, bottles and seats at each other. While there was no sign of a repeat of those ugly scenes, the security breach will be another major concern to those in charge at the London Stadium. The Metropolitan Police said in a statement: 'Three people were arrested in connection with last night's match between West Ham and Chelsea in Stratford. 'A 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of pitch encroachment. Ian Paul Crouch (12.10.1965) of Corringham, was subsequently charged with going on to an area adjacent to the playing area under sections 4 and 5 of the Football Offences Act 1991. He has been bailed to appear at Thames Magistrates' Court on 21 March. '[In addition] A 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of common assault. An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempting to enter a stadium whilst in possession of a flare. 'Both remain in police custody at this time at east London police stations, and enquiries continue.' Another fan was ejected from in front of where the Chelsea supporters were housed as the game approached stoppage time, but the match otherwise passed off peacefully.
West Ham had implemented a robust five-point security plan since Chelsea's last visit, when seven fans were arrested on the night. The segregation area between rival supporters was widened, with a physical barrier also put in place, along with a 10-metre 'sterile' area as well as new measures to keep rival fans apart after the game. Stewards have been issued with handheld video cameras to help identify troublemakers, while a 'no tolerance' banning order policy is in place for anyone found guilty of offences ranging from abusive and offensive language to missile throwing.
So far this season West Ham have banned 97 fans. The measures seemed to have had the desired affect as, barring those two isolated incidents, there was no hint of crowd trouble.

“There were also a number of blue smoke bombs set off from the South Stand away end.”
Another fan said: “It was disgraceful behaviour and not what we want in football.”
