Ajax Amsterdam - Celtic Glasgow - 17/09/2015

Celtic fans escorted through streets of Amsterdam by army of police carrying batons, handguns and shields
CELTIC fans were escorted through Amsterdam by an army of Dutch police.
Around 3000 supporters were herded out Dam square by hundreds of heavily armed riot police carrying batons, handguns and shields.
Dozens of officers on horseback, a helicopter and riot vans were involved in the tense operation to chaperone the fans to the stadium.
At one point a crowd of Celtic supporters surged towards a side street where Ajax fans had emerged to hurl abuse.
But within seconds a squad of police, mounted and on foot, charged between them. Stunned locals looked on in shock at the procession snaked through the town and underground to a waiting metro train.
Many fans took full advantage of the foreign location - beyond the reach of Scottish football laws - to chant IRA songs.
After a 20-minute train ride to the stadium a wall police vans separated Ajax fans from the visitors as they queued to get into the stadium.
Restaurant owner Toni Vastano, 46, a Hoops fan from Aviemore, said: "It has been a great day and the vast majority of the Celtic fans don't want any trouble.
"Last night we didn't wear colours out in town, nobody did, there is a bad element around the Ajax fans and we just don't want to come into contact with it.
Earlier, Celtic fans kicked off a Dam square street party today amidst a massive police presence ahead of tonight's Europa League clash with Ajax.
Hundreds of Hoops fans began flooding into the Amsterdam landmark from mid-day as rain lashed down relentlessly.
And while a good-natured atmosphere prevailed Dutch authorities were taking no chances after rioting in 2013 when Ajax thugs attack travelling supporters.
Around the square a dozen riot vans packed with body armour clad "Politie" officers lined up through the afternoon.

Rival Dutch fans infiltrate Celtic game in bid to attack Scots fans
Fans of a rival Dutch club were arrested after attempting to attack Scottish football fans ahead of a European game in Amsterdam.
No Scots were among the 27 arrests made around the Europa League match between Celtic and Ajax on Thursday evening.
Police in Amsterdam confirmed the number had increased from 17 overnight after ten fans of a rival Dutch club had also been arrested in the city.
It is not yet known which club the group were a fan of however those arrested were released on Friday morning.
Around 6am a tweet read: "All 27 'football' suspects Ajax-Celtic are sent home. The nationalities were 21 Dutch, four English, one Irish and no Scots."
A statement from police in Amsterdam added: "The arrests took place mainly because of violation of the public safety order. The suspects are not supporters of Ajax and Celtic but a rival Dutch club.
"Organised by a trader on the Dam, the 'fan zone' was poorly attended because of the heavy rain in the early afternoon.
"From 4pm came much Celtic supporters together in the fan zone. The police took in the immediate vicinity of the Dam, which 'Ajax supporters' could not come into contact with the Scots.
"At 5pm the Celtic fans were escorted by the police on the Damrak and brought to the subway station.
"At the top of the Haringpakkerssteeg a group of 'Ajax supporters' tried to carry out an attack towards the Scottish supporters.
"The accompanying police prevented any violence immediately.
"The Celtic fans were brought directly to the Arena with a reserved metro train and escorted by the police."
The arrests come after it was confirmed extra security was being put in place for the same fixture which caused trouble in 2013.
Violence between rival fans and police led to a number of arrests
A group of Celtic supporters were also attacked in a pub by a large group of rival fans the night before the match.
On Thursday night Celtic held on to earn a point from the Europa League opener against Ajax despite being reduced to ten men in the second half.

England : Five arrested after Leyton Orient and QPR hooligans clash at pub - 18/09/2015
Source : http://www.guardian-series.co.uk/
Police have arrested five football fans after QPR and Leyton Orient hooligans clashed in violence that left one fan unconscious.
The men aged 18 , 22 , 26, 28 and 30 from West London, Hemel Hempstead and Southall were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder in the Square Mile in an operation on Tuesday and Wednesday (September 16 and17).
City of London police were called to the Woodins Shades pub in Middlesex Street at 7.45pm on August 8 to reports of a fight.
A brawl broke out between a group of Queens Park Rangers and Leyton Orient supporters with bottles and glasses being thrown.
A Leyton Orient supporter was struck by one of the bottles causing a cut to the head and was taken to a London hospital.
A member of the public was also injured by flying glass after the window of the Woodins Shades was smashed.
One O's fan was kicked in the head causing him to lose consciousness and suffer cuts to his left eye socket.
A Queens Park Rangers spokesman said: "The club is disappointed to learn of these arrests. We do not condone this type of behaviour from any of our supporters – and we won't accept or associate ourselves with those who deem this type of behaviour to be acceptable.
"We will work alongside our colleagues at the City of London Police in offering any available assistance with the case."
Detective Chief Inspector Edelle Michaels maintained there would be further arrests.
He said: "So far we have arrested five men after several people were injured and property was damaged during a brawl between two sets of football fans."
"Further arrests will be made and we will not stop until all those responsible have been brought to justice.
"This sort of violent behaviour is rare in the Square Mile and will not be tolerated.
"We will continue to work with the clubs concerned to identify other suspects but we also need witnesses to come forward with information to help with the investigation."

England : Three charged over Villa v West Bromwich Albion FA Cup violence - 18/09/2015
Source : http://www.expressandstar.com
51-year-old Robert Bernard of Carisbrooke Road, Wednesbury; 29-year-old Carl Ashmore of Kesteven Road, West Bromwich and 34-year-old John Ritchie, of Marnham Road, West Bromwich, have all been charged with causing fear of unlawful violence.
As part of their bail conditions the trio are barred from attending any regulated matches and must not go within five miles of Villa Park before, during or after a game.
The men will appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court on 16 October and, if found guilty, officers intend to apply banning orders that will prevent them from attending future football fixtures.
The arrests come just two days before the teams play each other for the first time since the ill-tempered quarter final in March.
Seventeen people were arrested on the day of that match on March 7 and further arrests have followed.
Trouble flared before and after the Saturday evening tie, with two pitch invasions taking place in the game's final minutes.
Seats were ripped up and thrown by Albion fans, while West Brom’s Callum McManaman and Boaz Myhill were confronted by dozens of fans as they fled the field.
Rival fans also brawled at the Witton Arms pub prior to the game.
After the match Villa issued a swift apology for their fans' behaviour, while West Brom vowed to take a "zero tolerance" approach and promised to co-operate fully with the FA's inquiry.
Villa were later fined £200,000 by the FA for failing to prevent the pitch invasion.
Tony Pulis called for a lifetime ban of any Albion fan responsible for throwing seats.
Police have since trawled through hundreds of hours of CCTV footage and have made a number of arrests for a variety of offences.
Investigations continue.

Argentina lifts ban on away fans - 17/09/2015
Source : http://www.worldsoccer.com/
The Argentina Football Federation has approved a provisional return of visiting team supporters for two Argentine league matches this weekend, the first time the ban has been lifted since it was imposed in 2013 due to the escalation of violence at matches in the country.
Olimpo de Bahia Blanca fans will be permitted to attend the match against Arsenal de Sarandi in Buenos Aires on Sunday while in the Metropolitan B league, Tristan Suarez will welcome fans of Sportivo Italiano.
The federation initially contemplated allowing away team fans at a third match, Sarmiento vs. Defensa, but opted against it, saying that the stadium was not yet equipped to accommodate visiting fans.
After an executive committee meeting, federation president Luis Segura told reporters that the decision to allow fans for these two matches could pave the way for the return of visiting team supporters next year.
The federation imposed the ban in 2013 after a supporter of visiting club Lanus was killed in a clash with fans and police in La Plata, near Buenos Aires, during a match against Estudiantes.
Scores of football supporters have been killed in Argentina since the year 2000, with the authorities seemingly unable to stem the growing tide of violence

West Bromwich Albion - Aston Villa - 19/09/2015
Source : http://www.expressandstar.com/
Thirteen arrested after West Bromwich Albion's West Midlands derby victory at Aston Villa
Yesterday's match - which saw the Baggies win at Villa Park - saw no reported flashpoints, and all arrests were for minor offences.
•A 47-year-old man from Aldridge detained in a pub car-park for breaching his Football Banning Order which prohibits him being in Birmingham before matches; he will answer that charge at Birmingham Magistrates Court on October 19. •A 20-year-old Albion supporter, from Worcester, was charged with a public order offence for gaining entry to the home end and goading fans at the final whistle. •A 17-year-old was arrested after the game on suspicion of assaulting a steward during the August 29 visit of Sunderland to Villa Park. •Two men – a 46-year-old from Pype Hayes and 29-year-old from Erdington – were arrested on suspicion of assault at half-time in Villa Park’s Holte Suite; both have been bailed pending further enquiries. •A 25-year-old from Kingstanding was arrested on public order grounds after he allegedly abused staff at a bar inside the stadium; he’s been bailed while officers secure statements from bar staff. •A 23-year-old from Stourport was arrested on suspicion of running onto ground adjacent to the pitch when West Brom scored; he’s also been bailed to allow officers time to examine CCTV footage.
Elsewhere, three men aged 41, 28 and 19 from Brierley Hill, Stourport and Rowley Regis respectively were issued fixed penalty fines for being drunk and disorderly.
A 40-year-old salesman from Wednesbury and a 24-year-old man from Brierley Hill were both given police cautions after admitting public order offences, while a 60-year-old man from Wednesbury arrested to prevent a breach of the peace by taunting rival fans was later released without charge.
Inspector Howard Lewis-Jones, said: “Fans may have feared a repeat of last season’s problems at this fixture but I hope they came away yesterday reassured that the main talking point was the football and not any disorder.
“Transport police oversaw the arrival of ‘Baggies’ fans at Witton Station – it meant on that side of the ground there was only limited crossover of rivals fans – and club security made tweaks to help deter encroachment on the pitch or crowd trouble.
“We had plenty of officers on the ground in the right places, including in the bar areas. Our focus is to engage with fans and contribute to an enjoyable atmosphere…but being clear that anyone who oversteps the mark and commits offences will be arrested.”

O.Marseille - Lyon - 20/09/2015
Source : http://goal.com
Marseille - Lyon suspended amid crowd trouble
The Ligue 1 fixture between Marseille and Lyon has been suspended due to crowd trouble, with the visitors leading 1-0 at Stade Velodrome.
Prior to kick off there was a heated atmosphere fuelled by the return of Mathieu Valbuena to his former side, yet this continued and boiled over during the game.
The home support were left frustrated by several decisions from referee Ruddy Buquet, who awarded Lyon a first-half penalty from which Alexandre Lacazette gave them the lead. Romain Alessandrini was subsequently dismissed for a lunging tackle on Mathieu Valbuena, while moments before play was halted, Benjamin Mendy had been booked for simulation in the box.
It was in the aftermath of this incident that visiting goalkeeper Anthony Lopes was pelted with objects, including what appeared to be a flair, which landed near him.
Earlier, there had been a warning to fans in Marseille’s Virage Nord to stop throwing objects at Valbuena as he prepared to take a corner.
A 20-minute delay has been ordered to allow the supporters to calm down.
10 fans were arrested.
Previously this season, Marseille’s Stade Velodrome had certain areas closed due to previous indiscretions from the crowd at the end of last term. Following this latest occurrence, they could theoretically be forced to play behind closed doors for at least one Ligue 1 fixture.
