RC Genk - FC Bruges - 24/10/1999

Source: Bruges website

Like the season before, the B.C.F. gathered at a city nearby Genk counting a nice group (though not as big as the year before). Only about 25 had tickets and they were for stands with home-fans only, all the rest had come down without tickets. Tickets which were later bought at busses from the official part of the fans.

During the game, all remained calm untill FC Bruges came down 1-0 after 85 minutes. Then things got hectic in the visitors block. The home team's manager decided to send in a hired private security team, counting all immigrants (including members of the local hard core named Racing Ultras).
The B.C.F. immediately charged towards them and all hell broke out with the riot police no where to be seen. Despite the fact that they where heavily armed with bicycle chains and knuckle-dusters some of the "V.I.P. Security" crew were brutally attacked and had to leave the scene after some minutes. The area was now filled with riot-police who had to use teargas to restore order.

After a few minutes of "rest" and after the final whistle, the Bruges group steamed outside their block running towards segregation fences outside the stadium. The group managed to force a gate, entering an area filled with only scarfers of Genk. Mounted police came in very quickly and forced the crew back in and closing the in for about 45 minutes. Meanwhile, the Racing Ultras walked by trowing stones demolishing some car windows.

Nothing further happened...3 visiting fans were arrested, 2 policemen were heavily wounded and some minor woundeds.

Note: few days later, the Genk manager was called to order by the local police chief. It was clear that the manager of KRC Genk, P. Heylen, acted in an illegal way as the police did not gave their permission to send in the security crew.

****************************************************************************************

About 50 BCF gathered in Hasselt and made there way to Genk from there. Only 20 Bruges lads had tickets for the visitors-section, all the others had tickets for home fans section. When the Bruges boys tried to enter the Genk-stand (block Q), they were spotted by BOB and they were escorted into the visitors section of the ground. During the game nothing happened until 15 minutes before the end of the game when the BCF started to fight with security-team that had entered their section. Bruges went 1-0 down with 5 minutes to go all which led to the Bruges fans causing even more trouble in the visitors section. The local police had to use teargas to force the Bruges lads back. But the Bruges mob managed to open a gate and made a charge at the police and the security-team. At that point mounted police made a charge and they forced the Bruges boys back. During these fights 2 policemen and several Bruges lads were injured, and 3 Bruges lads were arrested. The Bruges fans were kept inside the carpark behind the visitors-stand for about 1 hour after the end of the game.

Beerschot - FC Bruges - 21/01/2000

Source: Bruges website

A group of about 100 Bruges hooligans came down to Beerschot. Already more then 1 hour before kick-off, the lads mobbed-up at a nearby parking. From there the group left, ready for action.

After some minutes of walking around, some 25 to 30 Beerschot hools were spotted at the other end of the street. While screaming "Bru-ges hoo-li-gans", the Bruges mob ran over some railwaytracks and charged towards their foes. Then a small contact between both side's hooligans errupted, but (mounted) police came in very quickly seperating the 2 groups.

After this, the Bruges group was escorted away by the local police. At certain moment, the home hools were spotted again, at the end of the street. A charge was tried but police were again just in time, this time even preventing every contact. The watercanon was pulled in to intimidate the lads, but wasn't used.

After a desolutioning game (with FC Bruges losing 5-3) the visiting group was again led away under police escort. Despite some provocations between the Bruges lads and local immigrant everything staid calm. Only at one time, things got a little bit hectic when some Bruges guys kicked in a door of a Turkish pub, but riot police steamed in (luckly for the muslim scum).

After a very long walk, the whole mob ended back at the parking, leaving a game in which not much really happened.

AaB Aalborg - Brondby IF - 99/00

Source: BIF website

The SSU lads went down to Aalborg with a rented bus. However, this bus broke down some 20 km before Aalborg, but the cops arrived very quickly putting the firm in another bus.

Before, during and after the game there were incidents involving the Brøndby following. One police officer was knocked-out after being hit on his head with a beer bottle, police arrested 10.

After the game, the rest of the group was put on a train (on governments expence). Police had to escort the group the whole way back to the Copenhagen suburbs, to prevent further clashes.

Vejle B - Brøndby IF - 01/08/1999

Source: BIF website

The reunion with the Vejle-stadium was a great thing for all of the SSU hooligans. Since the last game between both teams, the game had to be stopped because the Brøndby fans started trowing smokebombs and bengal torches on the pitch. Since that game, all kinds of fireworks have been totally illegal and if any were caught taking it into a stadium the persons would be arrested.

Police forces where afraid of episodes likes the ones that happened before, when players were caught in a rain of fireworks and where riots on the terraces escalated, resulting in two wounded policemen and 14 arrested SSU hooligans. This time the cops where prepared and were out in big numbers.

The game was played on a thursday evening, so it was difficult to gather a large firm. Only about 40 hooligans made the trip to Vejle, followed very close by the Copenhagen riot police.

Nothing seriously happened at the stadium, a few torches were lightened but nothing further happened...6 persons arrested!

Viborg - Brøndby IF - 12/09/1999

Source: BIF website

After a couple of boring matches, the SSU went to Viborg with a firm counting about 50 of their hard core.
Brøndby IF had been playing like shit in their 3 latest games and no points were gained, so there was a crisis among players and fans.

Again Brøndby couldn't manage to win the game (2-0 defeat), and at the end of the game, the SSU started a minor pitch-invasion, where torches and bottles also were trown towards the cops, making it difficult for them to come between. 7 hools were arrested by this action.

After the match, the SSU boys were walking through the city, directly to the pub of the Viborg fans. Only some official supporters where found, so a clash wasn't interesting. Instead of playing up here, the whole mob went searching for the "Green Pride" which are the so-called hooligans of Viborg.

Only about 15 showed up screaming "Who do we hate? South Side Brigade!", a yell which is an old Copenhagen Ultras song which hasn't been sung for many years. The Viborg hools were charged but managed to get away...nothing further happened.

Amica Wronki - Brøndby IF - 16/09/1999

Source: BIF website

Brøndby IF was only given about 400 tickets which were directly distibuted to the official fan club "Brøndby Support". The SSU were pretty mad about this, because a bus was already rented. Still the group decided to go to Poland, even though nobody of the firm had tickets. In Poland it was possible, for all of the hooligans, to buy cheap entrance tickets. So, off went a mob counting some 60 boys, which was a nice group for a european tie on a thursday.

Some members of the SSU had been in contact with Lech Poznan hooligans, and they told that the Wronki team had no hooligan element. But, because the city of Wronki isn't that far from Poznan the Brøndby lads where warned that the Lech hools might come down and play-up, even though their team had a game scheduled vs Göteborg that same day. No one of our mob took it serious...

Before the game there were some incidents with the police and some shops were attacked, but no one was arrested. After the the SSU where demanded to leave the area as soon as possible, as the police knew that the Lech Poznan hooligans where on their way to Wronki. The busses transporting the official part of the Danish support immediately left, but the hard core decided to stay for a while. Then the police first warned and then charged the SSU making it clear they had to leave immediately. Everything remained calm and the mob went towards Denmark.

The day after the Danish newspapers where again full with the actions of the hooligans, with titles like:

"Brøndby hooligans named South Side United are still progressing"
and
"The Danish hooligans acted very aggressive before and after their game in Wronki".

Brondby IF - FC Copenhagen - 20/09/1999

Source: BIF website

The derby vs the rivals from Copenhagen was scheduled two days after the "Sweden trip". Both sets of supporters had been provoking each other for weeks in advance, and so the police knew that a troubles were possible.

The home firm gathered with about 80 to 100 at their pub, a group which was split into two groups who began scouting their foes in the streets around the stadium. About an hour later the Copenhagen Ultras still hadn't arrived or shown up anywhere, and then they where suddently spotted at a gas station nearby.

The SSU quickly managed to regroup into one main mob and charged towards the C.U. with the police just in time preventing a big clash between the two groups. The number of C.U. boys present at the moment was about 50 to 60 boys together with some Swedish friends, Ultras Helsingborg.

After the game all remained calm, probably because the police where all over the place.

The day after, the SSU were accused for not trying to fight their C.U. opponants and not having the guts to travel to Copenhagen after the game.

Aab Aalborg - Brondby IF - 26/09/1999

Source: BIF website

The police and the media became aware of the escalating problem of hooliganism in Danmark, especially after the brutal attack made by the SSU last week against FC København fans.

The South Side United crew decided to go by bus instead of by train, like they usually do. The riot police, who were present in big numbers, were totally surprised. And so a bus load of Brøndby hooligans managed to arrive in Aalborg without any police attention. The SSU hools stormed out of their bus yelling and provoking their opponants creating a chaotic situation.

AaB don't have any real hooligan groups, only some little groups of youth who sometimes gather after a big game. This time, there were no pre-game incidents to report only a small clash with the local police in which 4 persons got arrested.

After the game, the bus driver refused to drive "his" violent passengers home, but no one seemed to care. Instead the group ran in the city centre charging through a famous shopping street, full of pubs and AaB fans. Again police forces were surprised and more trouble broke out. More lads got arrested, but the number is unknown.

Brondby IF - AGF Aarhus - 03/10/1999

Source: BIF website

The Aarhus hooligans named "White Pride" are known as a racists and neo-nazi group and they are connected with famous organisations such as "Blood & Honour" and "Combat 18". A small group of about 25 came down to Brøndby by bus, picking up 25 more skinheads in a city named Valby (from the club Frem BK, a club which is also known for their nazi hooligans).

White Pride arrived without police attention and were walking around in order to find SSU, and when no one of the SSU was found, some official Brøndby supporters were attacked. An action in which 7 persons from White Pride found themselves arrested.

The Aarhus hooligans were now also denied into the stadium, and slowly the SSU were informed the White Pride group was in the neighbourhood, which almost no one expected.

After the game, a firm counting about 90 hooligans was gathered but again police got on top of things and the SSU boys were led back to their pub. After an hour police dissapeared because in their eyes there were no more risks of clashes to errupt.

But...a person from the SSU managed to spot the White Pride bus at the big police station. The rest of the SSU hools were informed and the mob directly headed towards the police station, where the Aarhus lads where waiting for their 7 arrested friends.

The attack was immediatley made by South Side United, an attack which turned the police headquarters into a real warzone. The police were totally surprised by this attack and everywhere policemen were jumping out of the windows in order to restore order on the battle-ground. The action resulted in 20 arrests in the Brøndby side and surprisingly no one was seriously injured.

OB - Brøndby IF - 06/10/1999

Source: BIF website

Only 3 days after the incidents between SSU and White Pride of Aarhus, the calendar brought BIF to Odense once again to play a high-risk game because of both teams' hooligans. In the past the OB hools were known as "Odense Hellside" but nowadays the group has fallen apart.

The game was played on a wednesday and after the previous fights 3 days earlier, the police were alerted. A large policeforce were called out to prevent further incidents because people feared some heavily wounded persons. Here's the situation:

In the last couple of months, a large group of second-generation immigrants in Odense had been into a war with the Hells Angels, a situation which got very hectic at one point. Furthermore these immigrants are also known to bushwhack innocent people in their daily life. This group has become bigger over the last few years, and it's the same group who got into a large fight with the SSU some while ago. So the police feared heavy riots to break out, that's why there was more police than one could imagine.

Before the match the SSU were followed by the police from the minute they took the train in Copenhagen untill they got off in Odense. On the way to the stadium all remained calm, just like it stayed calm during the whole game.

After the match, the SSU mob were walking into the city centre in order to spot the group of immigrants. When no immigrants were to be found the SSU decided to visit a well-known pub of the OB fans. A pub which was famous among the OB hooligans in the older days. In the pub there were lots of OB celebrating their 2-0 victory. The SSU boys all lined up in front of the pub and attacking it with bicycles and fireworks.

One OB guy was wounded and had to be brought to the hospital.

AGF - Brøndby IF - 13/10/1999

Source: BIF website

Only 10 days after their previous meeting in Brøndby and the clash at the police headquarter, both teams were scheduled to meet again, this time in Aarhus.

The biggest police force ever in Denmark was called out to prevent clashes between both sets of supporters. It was expected that White Pride wanted revenge for the battle in Brøndby.

The game was played on a wednesday, so it was a little bit more difficult to gather an effective firm. But still the Brøndby lads managed to go down to Aarhus with a mob counting about 60 South Side United members. The White Pride hooligans were with some 80 of their boys, but the police were too much and were able to prevent any clash.

One minor fight, between some official AGF fans and the White Pride hooligans, went off inside the stadium, resulting in one injured AGF supporter and 7 W.P. hools arrested. Also 1 Brøndby supporter was arrested in the visitor section when he tried to beat some police officers with his flagstick.

All by all the game was extremely peaceful, but only because of the large police force. Without them there might have been some serious action.

Reaction of the Brøndby IF management:

In the past few days, with lots of media attention towards the SSU hooligans and Brøndby IF, the BIF management reacted. The club manager Per Bjæregaard, called in a meeting with all of the "unofficial supporters" (Brøndby Warriors, Fanaticos, The Hyenas, Yellow Dragons, The Poles and the rest of South Side United) together with some of the club's players and the rest of the management.

The meeting was well organised and it was not that kind of meeting where the "Big Boss" sat down on his chair while he deplored the actions made by the SSU. No, he had considered the situation from the hooligans' point of view, which is rather abnormal for a club president.

He suggested that everybody could make a new start and that this meeting would be "day zero". All of the banned hooligans where now allowed back in thestadium. Also the SSU were offered their own sections in the ground. Furthermore it's now legal to wear the t-shirts of SSU, Warriors, Yellow Dragons etc. inside of the stadium. T-shirts which had been illegal to wear for many years!

The Government stepped in:

The toleration among the politicians, towards the hooligan element, has been broken. They think it's way too expensive to call out a big police force every time there is a football match in Denmark.

They want to prevent hooliganism by using new laws (like they did in England many years ago) but so far these laws aren't allowed by the Danish constitution. In the near future it would be possible for the police making a register of Danish hooligans, something which is illegal for them at the moment.

FC Copenhagen - Brøndby IF - 07/11/1999

Source: BIF website

Like always this derby game provided lots of expectations from as well both sets of supporters as from both groups of hooligans.

The Brøndby hools, South Side United, brought a firm counting about 110 boys to Copenhagen. Their rivals had a mob of about 70 to 80 hools plus a group of Swedish friends, the Helsingborg Ultras.

Days in advance a fight was organised which should have go off in a park nearby the FC København stadium, but police found out and they could easily prevent any contact by holding the SSU at the stadium just after the final whistle.

RSC Anderlecht - Beerschot - 03/10/1999

Source: Soccer Fans website

The Anderlecht lads gathered at their regular meeting point, the Saint-Guidon, with a hardcore of 100-150. After a while the mob began to move, after they heard the Beerschot crew had arrived in Anderlecht. They were 200 strong, and had already attacked busses carrying genuine Anderlecht fans to the match (not hooligans), at a motoray service station. Nothing happened during the game. After the game a mob of 50-70 K4 began searching for the Beerschot crew, but were blocked everytime by BOB and the Gendarms. The Beerschot crew also had the same problem with the police, so a confrontation didn't occur.

KV Mechelen - RSC Anderlecht - 06/11/1999

Source: Soccer Fans website

(Report by the Brussels Casual Service).
With the last confrontation two years ago in their minds, the K4/BCS Mob came together in a town near Mechelen. A coach with 50 lads and some 40 BCS lads by car hit the road, direction Mechelen. The cars parked in the neighbourhood from the Racing stadium, and the 40 man mob headed towards the ground. They arrived in front of the pub of their rivals from Mechelen, but strangely no S-sider could be spotted. Sporting won the game by 2-5, and immediately after the game a mob some 100-150 lads, lead by 50 K4/BCS, headed towards the Oude Lierse Baan, where they found the KVM lads waiting. The Anderlecht Boys headed towards the Mechelen lads, but these didn't want to engage in a confrontation, although the two mobs were only separated by a meter or two. Then the gendarms entered the game and drove back the Sporting lads, and they got split into little groups. It was strange that when the gendarms set the
assault, the S-siders woke up and entered action. Anderlecht lads were surprised because they thought they had gone 15 years back in time, seeing lots of Mechelen Boys with scarves (!!!) to hide their face. Anyway, then the Mechelen mob decided it was time to attack the little groups of 4-5 lads with stones and bats, so some of our boys had a hard time (5 against 20 armed: you can hardly call this fair...). A number of our boys were arrested and the rest of the group returned to Brussels, while some others went to see their arrested friends. Briefly: a good Anderlecht mob as in the old days, a little deceived by Mechelen because of their use of weapons and their attitude when the two groups stood face-to-face.

DC United - Tampa Bay Mutiny - 08/08/1999

Source: Yahoo

A 27-year-old man was in serious condition Monday, a day after he was stabbed during D.C. United's victory over the Tampa Bay Mutiny at RFK Stadium.

The stabbing marked the second time this season that violence marred a game between United and the Mutiny at RFK.

Fans in the Washington area have been upset with United management since Raul Diaz Arce was traded at the end of the 1997 season. When Diaz Arce and the San Jose Clash visited RFK in April, there were fights and reports of
other unruly behavior among the crowd of 35,167. Diaz Arce was traded by San Jose to Tampa Bay in July.

Sunday's attendance was 18,753, including thousands of fans who booed the home team.

The Washington Post on Monday identified the victim as Sergio Senteno of Arlington, Va. It said he was treated for stab wounds to his lower back and abdomen. No arrests have been made, although police are checking videotapes
from surveillance cameras for possible suspects.

Valerenga IF - Brann Bergen - 08/08/1999

Source: Soccer Fans

Hools of Vaalerenga attacked a pub filled with Brann fans, first we sent 4 scouts in to see if the Brann hools was there. there where about 10 known hools and about 100 not seen before, some hools, but most ordinary fans!!! our mob of 30 people stormed the pub throwing stones and knocking down the fence outside the pub!!
this was an revenge after 3 fans who are not hooligans got hit in the face with glasses in the first meeting earlier in the season!!! Brannfans was not expecting the attack and had no way of hitting back!!!!

2 minutes before the game about 10 people tryed to get in the away end but was stopped by the police. After the game more people gatherd around the away end (almost 300, many non hools also wanted to fight).
Their bus was attacked and the police had to hold back the brannfas inside the stadium, they then blocked the whole road and escortet the fans in the buses and drove them avay!!!
6 people was arrested (only Vaalerenga hools).
Brann will maybe qualify for the norwegian cupfinal(they are in the semifinal) being played in Oslo, they will be looking for revenge, and since about 4000 brannfans will come to Oslo (our city) they will be many fights!!!

Vaalerenga has about 50-60 strong mob, while Brann has a little smaller firm about 25-30

On big matches many non hools also get involved!!!

Belarus - Russia - 18/08/1999

Source: Soccer Fans

800 russian hools presented that day in Minsk. Before the kick-off everything was alright. Russian lads walked about the city, drank beer with belorussian fans. But at the match a group of belorussian nationalists from BNF sat near the russian sector and began to provoke russian lads, shouting "Chechnya" and "Russians go home".
Police didn't do anything, so some lads tried to "talk" to this bastards. But they ran away in fear. Stupid
local police tried to defend fellow countrymen. A large clash began. Two times russians "cleared" neighboring sectors and many times repeled police attacks. After the match 65 russians were arrested. 5 lads are waiting for court now.
