Argentine player Elias Di Biasi stripped of shirt and shorts by hooligans mid-match
It’s not unusual for players to throw their shirts into the crowd after a match, but what happened in an Argentine lower-tier match this week was slightly more bizarre.
Elias Di Biasi of Sportivo Italiano, in Argentina’s third tier, lost his kit slightly earlier than planned after a group of hooligans ran onto the pitch during his side’s 3-0 defeat to Villa San Carlos yesterday.
Di Biasi was not only stripped of his shirt but also his shorts midway through the second half.
‘At the beginning I was going to try to fend them off, but there were three of them.’ Di Biasi said.
Fortunately the player was handed another kit but he undoubtedly remained red-faced for some time.

England: Swindon Town football fan escapes ban order - 17/09/2014
Source : http://m.swindonadvertiser.co.uk
SWINDON Town fan Kieran Parker, convicted of two football-related public order offences this year, has escaped a three-year banning order after a court was told he had moved away.
The 19-year-old, formerly of Moredon but now of North Street, Huddersfield, previously pleaded guilty to one count of common assault and another public order offence at separate Swindon matches this year.
The court was told that police suspected he was part of a high risk group of fans and applied for the order, which would have banned Parker for a minimum of three years from a designated area around the County Ground for four hours prior to kick off, during and immediately after the game, as well as regulated matches away from Swindon and all England national fixtures.

Two CSKA Moscow fans hospitalised in Rome violence
At least two Russian CSKA Moscow fans were rushed to hospital, one with suspected stab wounds, on Wednesday following clashes between supporters of the Russian club and fans of Serie A side AS Roma, according to reports. Roma won the game 5-1 to top Group E of the Champions League, but the celebrations — on what was the club’s return to the competition after a three-year absence — were marred by ugly scenes of violence before and during the match. According to a web report on Italian sports daily Gazzetta dello Sport, one unnamed Russian was stabbed in the stomach and the arm and was transported to the city’s Gemelli hospital. Initial reports said the man’s life was not in danger. Another fan of the Russian Premier League side was taken to hospital with head wounds after being hit with what was thought to be a bottle.
Violence also erupted in the later stages of the game as Roma romped to a 5-0 lead. Television pictures showed fans of both sides taunting and throwing missiles at each other, prompting the intervention of stewards. When the Roma fans were cordoned behind a line of stewards, fans of CSKA began attacking stadium stewards, many of whom had to defend themselves from punches being thrown and what appeared to be iron bars before they moved back as police with guns and batons arrived.

Beaten just because southerners: arrested two ultra veronesi - 17/09/2014
Source : http://jaxzdesign.com
Two ultra scaligeri were arrested by Digos Verona police suspected of having attacked with other extremists not yet identified, the day before yesterday evening, before meeting Verona-Palermo, three football fans ‘ guilty ‘ to be southerners. For the postponed meeting last Monday evening, the police headquarters had prepared a prevention service that had afforded to about 150 fans in Sicily to assist, without incident, to race and return to places of origin. The three victims, a Sardinian and two campani, freelancers, temporarily residing in Verona for business reasons, from simple football fans, had planned to spend the evening at the stadium. For this they had bought tickets to a sector of the stadium usually intended for local fans. Although not wearing distinctive signs of any kind, nor referred to a football team, their presence has not gone unnoticed, perhaps because of their southern accent. Some ultras of Hellas followed the three while preparing to enter the stadium and having dealt with have asked them from that city came. The victims have remained silent, surprised and afraid for a threat that they could not understand, before it was stolen from their entrance tickets and then hit by suspects with kicks and punches. The vittimehanno denounced yesterday happened to Digos which, thanks to the images recorded by video surveillance system, has identified the alleged perpetrators who, earlier today, were taken from their homes. There are two known ultras of South Bend», one of 25 years residing in the province and one of 21 years resident in the city, both already submitted in the past to San Juan for similar violent incidents during matches from Hellas Verona. One of the two has been repeatedly denounced for Brawl, threats, bodily injury. Now they are charged with aggravated robbery and personal injury. In addition to the two the Digos Police resulted in a 17-year-old, recognized among the attackers. having regard to the minority and for being clean, though known for his militancy in the Ultras groups of Hellas Verona that interface with the local teams of the radical right has been reported and, in accordance with the juvenile court of Venice, issued and given to parents. For all three the Questore di Verona Danilo Gagliardi initiated administrative proceedings to prohibit the access to the stadium. Bolton Wanderers Fan Banned From Matches After Racially Abusing Players - 17/09/2014
Source : http://www.towerfm.co.uk
A Bolton Wanderers supporter who unleashed a tirade of racist abuse that was directed at players and the manager has been given a football banning order.
Philip John Ward 03/07/1982, of Tintern Avenue, Tyldesley, was found guilty of a racially aggravated public order offence following a trial at Bolton magistrates court.
On Tuesday 16 September 2014, he was issued with a fine and costs and given a three year football banning order.
During the match between Bolton Wanderers and Burnley on 11 February 2014, Ward was observed by a steward, who was operating as a plain clothes spotter, to shout racist abuse at two players in relation to their ethnicity. He also directed abuse at the manager in relation to his nationality.
Police were made aware and he was subsequently arrested.
Police Constable Rob Smith, from GMP’s Force Events Section, said: “Philip Ward and people of his ilk – whose bigot mind-sets are out of place and touch with decent members of our society – have no place and are not welcome in any walk of modern life, including sporting events.
“The type of vile nonsense spouted by Taylor is offensive to most but is especially unpalatable to those parents who were nearby with their young children.
“To vehemently target the manager and players of a team you are supposed to be supporting is also indicative of the intolerable person he is.
“We want to work with clubs and the FA and other organisations to stamp out such behaviour and would encourage anyone who experiences or hears anyone committing these types of offences to report it to police.”
In a statement, the club said: “BWFC will not condone such behaviour from any of our supporters and we will work with police as necessary as on this occasion.”

Manchester United fans brawl with stag party dressed as Where's Wally at Piccadilly station - 20/09/2014
Source : http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk
A family of United fans were involved in a ‘ridiculous’ brawl with a fancy dress stag party on moving travelators at Piccadilly station.
Drunken goading led to violence after Reds supporter John Eyre, his sons Jack and Rhys Eyre, and their pal Ross Hunter crossed paths with revellers dressed as ‘Where’s Wally’ on their way home from a game, Manchester Crown Court heard. CCTV footage released by the Crown Prosecution Service captured the bizarre fracas.
The parties were travelling in opposite directions on travelators linked to platforms 13 and 14 when they began taunting each other. After leaning over the handrail to push one of the ‘Wallies’. John Eyre got off the moving walkway his family were on, barged his rival and fell flat on his face in ‘ridiculous’ fashion, the court heard.
Mr Eyre’s sons then ran down to join the fray. Jack Eyre began attacking members of the rival ‘Wally’ group with a crutch, and a mass brawl erupted on both escalators in front of commuters, Phil Dobson, prosecuting, said.
John Eyre, 46, Jack Eyre, 22, Rhys Eyre, 17, and Ross Hunter, 17, all of Chesterfield, admitted affray. Stephen Hargreaves, 54, of Strangford Street, Radcliffe, who was in the 'Wally’ group, was found guilty of affray at trial.
The Eyre party had watched Man United play Norwich that day, and visited several pubs, while the stag party had set off from Bolton at 10am and been boozing all day on the Yorkshire Ale Trail.
John Eyre, said by his defence to have drunk a ‘gallon of ale’ on the fateful day, has now been handed a six-month sentence, suspended for two years, plus 120 hours unpaid work, and must pay prosecution costs of £250.
Rhys Eyre was made subject to a youth rehabilitation order, with 75 hours unpaid work, Ross Hunter received the same sentence, plus £250 costs, while
Jack Eyre was given a six-month sentence, suspended for two years, with £250 costs. Stephen Hargreaves was given nine months, suspended for two years, plus £500 costs.
Mr Recorder Williams, sentencing for the incident on the night of March 2, 2013, said: “This was disgraceful - you consumed such a quantity of alcohol that your judgement went out of the window.”
Explaining why he wasn’t locking them up, he added: “I take the view that its more important that you keep your jobs and make some kind of repayment for this, and I’m persuaded you will not get into trouble again.”

Port Vale and Barnsley fans clash in Burslem
PORT Vale and Barnsley fans have clashed in Burslem town centre ahead of their teams' match this afternoon.
Trouble flared up between the rival supporters at about 12.30pm in and around Queen Street.
Police attended the incident and the Barnsley fans were escorted to Vale Park ahead of kick-off at 3pm.
Members of the public have been commenting about the disturbance on The Sentinel's Facebook page.
Cheryl Louise Williams wrote: "I saw all of it. It was like the film Football Factory."
Teresa Embury wrote: "We got stuck in it behind the riot van! Took 20 mins to get through the high street."
Some Vale fans blamed the policing, or lack thereof, before the match for allowing the rival groups to clash.
Following the match, which Vale won 2-1, there was a heavy police presence around Vale Park, with the Barnsley fans being kept in the ground until the home supporters had left.
A police cordon across Hamil Road resulted in lengthy delays for motorists.

Police comb CCTV footage to identify more troublemakers after Port Vale v Barnsley violence in Burslem - 22/09/2014
Source : http://www.stokesentinel.co.uk
POLICE were today scouring CCTV footage to help identify more troublemakers after violence flared between football fans in the city.
At one point, pepper spray was used to try to contain supporters following Port Vale's 2-1 victory against Barnsley on Saturday.
One officer was injured and missiles were thrown during the melee.
The trouble started before kick-off when fans confronted each other in Market Place, Burslem.
An 18-year-old man, from Barnsley, and a 43-year-old, from Hemsworth, near Pontefract, were arrested for affray, while a 27-year-old, from Kirkby, and a 25-year-old, from Barnsley, were arrested for disorder. All four were later bailed.
A fifth man, aged 20, from Barnsley, was then arrested after the match on suspicion of causing criminal damage and public order offences. He was still in custody yesterday.
Police were also called to a separate incident at Stoke station as departing Barnsley fans encountered Stoke City supporters, who were arriving home from seeing the Potters play QPR.
Chief Inspector Neil Hulme, from Staffordshire Police, confirmed the force was now scanning CCTV images captured on officer body-cams as well as at Vale Park and Burslem town centre.
He said: "We're disappointed by the actions of a significant number of so-called fans, who attended the fixture intent on disorder."
Supporters' groups have raised concerns over the latest outbreak of matchday disorder.
Tempers flared as Barnsley and Port Vale fans clashed before and after Saturday's game, leading to five men being arrested.
Last season saw 34 people arrested after ugly scenes marred the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Now Valiants supporters are concerned they could be attracting the wrong crowd from other clubs.
Ally Simcock, chairman of Port Vale Supporters' Club, said: "Unfortunately, because of what happened with Wolves and with the way it was advertised across national media, some people got the impression we have a big hooligan problem here, which isn't the case.
"We don't want to see the bad elements attached to other clubs thinking they can come here and cause problems.
"We do have some problem fans, but it's a very small number and we had no trouble in the ground."
Ms Simcock also praised Staffordshire Police for their response to Saturday's disorder.
"I think they seemed to be handling things a lot better than they did last season," she said.
Mark Porter, vice-chairman of Port Vale Supporters' Club, said he was surprised by the trouble, especially with Vale lacking any rivalry with the South Yorkshire side.
He added: "I've never seen any trouble with Barnsley fans before, but Vale fans seem to be victims in this case. Yet again, it's a handful of people causing problems and ruining things for proper fans."
Alan Bloore, committee member for Barnsley's supporters' club, attended Saturday's match and questioned the policing operation.
He said: "From my initial calls, it seems that a group of 20 or 30 young Barnsley fans went into a pub in Burslem and caused a bit of trouble.
"I heard from some sources that there were Vale fans taunting them from outside the pub, but I don't know exactly what happened. It seems as though both sides aren't blameless.
"One issue I have is that, near the end of the game, the police herded a group of home fans just outside the car park, near to where our coaches were parked, and there was a bit of goading going on. Some fans said the officers were over-zealous."
Chief Inspector Neil Hulme, from Staffordshire Police, said the 'various pockets of disorder' across Burslem complicated the operation.
He told The Sentinel: "There was a small minority intent on causing trouble. It seems there was some spontaneous disorder as two sets of supporters confronted each other in the town centre.
"At the ground, a small number of officers were confronted by elements of the Barnsley fans, and PAVA (pepper) spray was used.
"The Vale supporters were moved further up Hamil Road, so we could deal with the Barnsley supporters, and everyone could leave safely.
"There was certainly no indication I'm aware of that there was a heightened risk of disorder, either pre or post-match."
