Rival football fans brawl at Las Vegas match, dozens of police respond
Authorities say brawling broke out among rival football fans at a Las Vegas match and dozens of police responded. Las Vegas police spokesman Bill Cassell says tension began building Wednesday evening when fans from two rival Mexican football teams — Chivas Guadalajara and Club America — arrived at the stadium by bus.The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that clashes involving dozens of fans began at that point and then again after the match. Roughly 40 officers from Las Vegas police initially responded. But when the crowd began throwing rocks and bottles, and additional forces were summoned. Cassell says an additional 80 officers from Las Vegas and other communities responded. The paper reported that the match ended with a Chivas 1-0 win, and fans again began to cause trouble, running onto the field and resuming the fight as police worked to quell the chaos. Cassell says no one was arrested and no officers were injured. The newspaper says six fans were hurt.

Pre-season tour ends in defeat for Pat Fenlon's side as violent clashes break out between rival fans
THE friendly match between Hibs and English Championship side Nottingham Forrest is likely to be remembered more for what happened off the pitch than on it.
HIBS’ pre-season tour of southern Spain and Portugal ended on a sour note last night as violent clashes broke out between rival fans.
Trouble marred the so-called friendly match between the Edinburgh outfit and Nottingham Forest as both sets of supporters became embroiled in fighting 35 minutes into the evening encounter.
The mayhem only came to an end when Portuguese riot police waded in with batons to separate the feuding fans in the blistering heat of the Vila Real St Antonio Stadium in the Algarve in Portugal.
Supporters had earlier indulged in some unsavoury nationalistic and sectarian chanting ahead of kick-off as a poisonous atmosphere built inside the ground.

England : Nine Wolves fans wanted in police pitch invasion appeal - 09/07/2013
Source : http://www.expressandstar.com
Police are hunting nine Wolves fans they want to trace following a pitch invasion at Molineux that led to a number of stewards assaulted and damage to the stadium.
With less than four weeks until the new season kicks-off West Midlands Police have re-released images of the supporters they want to speak to after the disorder at the final home game of the season against Burnley.
After the final whistle of the match on Saturday April 27 around 300 people who were sat among the Wolves supporters invaded the pitch and began venting their anger at the club's board with relegation to League One pending.
A number of stewards were then assaulted and damage was caused to the dugout, part of one of the stands and several advertising hoardings.
The ugly scenes were beamed to millions of television viewers across the world and a week later Wolves were consigned to the drop after a 2-0 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion.
Police trawled through CCTV following the disorder and have identified a number of people they want to speak to in connection with the trouble.
Officers have been working closely with the club since the end of the season and are once again asking supporters and members of the public to come forward with any information they may have.
As of yet there have been no arrests.
PC Saul Faulkner, from Wolverhampton Police, said: "What happened in the closing moments of last season was completely unacceptable and tarnished the majority of Wolves fans who cause us no problems.
"We want to make sure that the people who assaulted innocent stewards and caused damage to the ground are banned from football matches and won't be attending games at the start of the new season.
"We've had a good response from members of the public so far and are working hard to bring the suspects to justice.
"These images are very clear and we know that there are people out there who can identify them − we'd also urge the people in the images to come forward and contact us themselves."

Israel : Beitar Jerusalem football fans arrested in connection with arson attack - 03/07/2013
Source : http://www.jewishjournal.com
Some members of the Beitar Jerusalem's nationalist and extremist fan club were arrested in connection with the arson attack on the football team's office and trophy room.
Jerusalem police arrested as many as seven fans belonging to the club called La Familia; more arrests reportedly are coming.
The alleged arsonists reportedly were identified through electronic surveillance.
La Famillia said it would suspend its activities due to the recent events, including the harsh reaction to the hiring of two Muslim team members from Chechnya. The club occupied the bleachers at the eastern side of the soccer field; the eastern bleachers have been ordered closed for the next five games by the Israel Football Association's disciplinary court.
Memorabilia and team records were damaged in the Feb. 8 fire.
"The history of Beitar has gone up in flames,” property caretaker Meir Harush told the news site NRG.
The attack followed the indictments that day of four Beitar Jerusalem fans suspected of incitement against Arabs and Muslims. On Jan. 26, the indictment said, the four men, all in their 20s, called “death to the Arabs” while watching a game from the bleachers.
On Feb. 10, some 35 supporters of Beitar Jerusalem were removed from Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem for racist chanting.

Maccabi Tel Aviv Match Cancelled in Germany Amid Security Fears - 09/07/2013
Source : http://www.algemeiner.com
Police in Austria this weekend cancelled a football match between Germany’s Energie Cottbus and Israel’s Maccabi Tel Aviv due to security fears, Der Spiegel’s website reported Tuesday.
The decision was taken last Saturday when police in the Alpine town of Angerberg in the Tyrol region of Austria were tipped-off to the fact that dozens of far-right supporters of Cottbus, including members of Inferno, a fan club banned last month for showing “anti-Semitism signs,” planned to attend the match.
In June, Cottbus banned Inferno from home and away matches and declared in a statement: “FC Energie won’t hesitate to protect its reputation and its values with all means at its disposal.”
Inferno is regarded as one of the most extreme far-right groups in Germany’s soccer scene. At an away match in 2012, they held up letters forming the Nazi greeting “Sieg Heil.”
According to Der Spiegel’s website, Cottbus banned the group after members spelled out “Juden DD” in adhesive tape on a plexiglass screen at an away match versus Dynamo Dresden. “Juden” is German for “Jews.”

Scotland : Banned Celtic supporters get police warning over Champions League qualifier in Belfast - 11/07/2013
Source : http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk
TWENTY-SIX Celtic fans who are the subject of football banning orders have received letters from Police Scotland reminding them the orders apply right across the UK.
BANNED Celtic fans have been warned not to try to attend next week’s Champions League qualifier in Belfast.
Police Scotland have written to 26 Hoops supporters who are the subject of football banning orders ahead of the clash with Cliftonville FC.
The move is designed to remind fans that the orders against them apply across the UK – not just in Scotland.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “The letter is a reminder that should they choose to visit Northern Ireland in connection with a regulated football match being played there, the FBO will be policed accordingly.”
The letter, seen by the Record, states: “May I take this opportunity to remind you that you are currently the subject of a football banning order.”
It was sent out under the authorisation of Superintendent Stephen MacAllister of the Football Coordination Unit (Scotland).
The match at Solitude in west Belfast – the first of three qualifying rounds Celtic will have to get through to reach the lucrative Champions League group stage – will be broadcast live on BBC Scotland.
