| Montpellier-Bordeaux - 10/01/2004
Source : mouvement-ultra
Prior to the game: As Montpellier ultras coach was attacked on 1st game, a group of 20-25 locals was waiting for Bordeaux fans. After some hours of waiting, major part of this group took the direction of the stadium and only 6 Armata Ultras stayed at the Mac Donald's waiting for visitors. At this time, the Bordeaux Ultramarines coach arrived (approx 60 lads) and 30ish of them went out and attacked locals, using bottles.
After the game: A total of 30/35 locals took the direction of the motorway, looking for Bordeaux coaches. When coaches arrived at the place, they were pelted with missiles. _________________

| NEC Nijmegen - PSV Eindhoven - 08/01/2004
Source: Casuals Nederland + mail
A fight took place, opposing approx 50 PSV'ers (others sources said 80) to 30 locals. The fight took place for 5 minutes. Fifteen lads were arrested, all from PSV side.
PSV view on what happened:
Nec and PSV both have a well known firm in Holland. In the normal competition, the away-supporters can only visit the matches between the 2 teams by using the “combi-regeling”,which means only transport by bus is allowed. Because this game was organized by our sponsor Philips instead of de KNVB,we didn’t have to travel with the “combi”. Nec was aware of that so they invited us to come to their city-centre and said they would be ready. On matchday, 60 lads from PSV (20 oldies and 40 of EJK , PSV’s youthfirm) met in a pub in Nijmegen centre. We didn’t had large numbers with us,mainly because it wasn’t an interesting match on the field and because it was on Thursday so people had to work. NEC wasn’t ready in the centre, despite the inventation we had received before. One guy phoned them where they were and they told us that they were in their bar close to the stadium. Because we wanted action instead of just drinking in Nijmegen we headed towards their bar although it was their town and in mine opinion THEY had to make the first move! From city centre to NEC’s pub was a 5 kilometer long trip,so some cars got lost in traffic when we drove to the ground. That’s why only 50 lads made it to the parkingplace close to the ground and NEC’s pub. With the remaining group,we walked through a park and ended on a big field next to the stadium. In the distance we suddenly heard a big roar ,NEC WAS COMING! A big fight errupted in the middle of the field.50 PSV to 40 NEC,with only a couple of ME vans present. The two groups went straight for each other. PSV had the upper hand but from time to time we had to step back because the ME vans constantly drove straight at us in a desperate attempt to keep us away from the Nec hoolies.Because of this, we weren’t able to run NEC. After 5 minutes more ME showed up and the fun was over. The old bill started haunting for the PSV group and the NEC group disappeared in the streets. After this big fight some small groups of PSV , mainly groups of 3-4 lads, were attacked by groups of Nec hoolies because they knew the way and we didn’t. After a while, most of the PSV lads found their car’s back. But when we wanted to drive back to Eindhoven the police had the last laugh and arrested 19 lads from PSV.Two undercover officers from Eindhoven had joined the local police so that’s why only PSV hooligans were arrested. After all a good evening with a free stay with the police for me in the end,but it was worth it! _________________

| Police plot to foil hooligans at Euro 2004 - 14/01/2004
Source : REÜTERS
Five months before an expected 50,000 England fans flood Portugal for the European soccer championship, British and Portuguese police are laying elaborate plans to outwit hooligans and prevent violence.
England fans have already bought some 80,000 match tickets over the internet and will be one of the biggest contingents of visitors to the June 12-July 4 tournament between 16 national teams.
Given English hooligans' notoriety, British and Portuguese authorities -- plus supporters' organisations -- are desperate to avoid trouble this time round.
"It is about breaking the cycle so we can get to a point where English fans don't have the reputation of being inevitably violent," said Liverpool University psychologist Clifford Stott, an expert in violence involving England supporters.
"It isn't just a problem of hooliganism, it's also a problem of crowd management," he added.
Police tactics range from forcing known hooligans to stay at home, to sending "spotters" to mingle with crowds in Portugal.
So far, authorities have pre-identified nearly 2,000 troublemakers. Those on the list already have banning orders on them to stop them attending any football matches and will have to report to police stations or surrender passports during the tournament.
"There are other individuals for whom we don't have the evidence to get them banned but who we know are a high-risk category and our plan will be to gather intelligence on them and, if we can, prevent them from leaving the country," said Staffordshire Police Chief Constable David Swift.
YOB ALERT
"If not, we'll work with the Portuguese to track their movements," Swift, who is the British police's pointman on hooligans, told his local Sentinel newspaper at the weekend.
He predicted that among an estimated 50,000 travelling English supporters, some 200 or 300 "yobs by upbringing and yobs by inclination" might get through the net.
Given Portugal's proximity and popularity with holidaymakers, another 150,000 or so English visitors might be in the country at the time of the tournament, authorities say.
Supporters' representatives say much depends on local hospitality and police tactics.
They contrast the good behaviour of England fans in Japan during the 2002 World Cup with violence during the 2000 European championship in Belgium.
"They were the same fans," said Kevin Miles, international coordinator of England's Football Supporters Federation.
"Because of the welcome they got, the way they were treated in Japan, there were no problems. Thus far, the noises coming out of Portugal are encouraging in that respect."
HIGH NUMBERS
Miles said that in Belgium, police inflamed fans by leaving them alone altogether then turning up in force in full riot gear. By contrast, Portuguese police are expected to mingle early on in a high-profile but low-key and friendlier way.
Numbers, however, will inevitably be higher given how expensive it was for England fans to travel to Japan.
"I think England fans probably will be the biggest single number," Miles said.
But experts are optimistic about events in Portugal.
"We feel very positive about 2004," psychologist Stott said. "Euro 2004 is going to be policed in a way that reflects a lot of the principles that we've begun to understand are needed to produce effective policing."
Portuguese authorities say they are working closely with their English counterparts to take every precaution.
"Beforehand, there of course will be a dissuasive presence and (police) will only act in an extreme case. The main philosophy is prevention," Lieutenant General Leonel de Carvalho, head of the Portuguese Interior Ministry committee in charge of Euro 2004 security, told Diario de Noticias on Saturday.
"We are most concerned with what takes place away from the stadium, where the police are not omnipresent, because we are not a police state. There is always the possibility of unforeseen clashes." _________________

| Indoor tournament in Trelleborg - 18/01/04
Source: view from a brøndby if youth
First we decided to meet up at an location in copenhagen 15 pm, but due to the fact that we were too few to make some kind of a threat, we decided to go to a pub to wait for some more lads.. about 18 pm we decided to take the train to Malmö in sweden, at that time we were only 25-+ and didnt know what numbers fck/hbg were... We arrived in Malmö and took the bus to trelleborg in the bus we got the information that 60-+ fck/hbg were having a go with ob who were short in numbers.. and were trying to get entrance to the tournament.. we arrived in trelleborg 20 pm and went straight for the tourmanent, we had walked for like 5 mins when we were met by 15 ob's in full riotgear and two dogs, we had a little aggro with them and they chased us and arrested one of ours... we decided to go back to find another way, so when we had walked for 2 mins, suddenly 40+ fck/hbgs came running out of a graveyard and started to charge and throw stones, first we went forward but when we saw the numbers we started to make a run for it.... some of us went straight down the road and some went left and right and received some kicks and punches but respect to fck/hbg for respecting that they lay down and that they didnt totally fucked them up.. we lost some 5-+ lads who got lost in the heat of the battle, our main group 15-+ was chased down the road by fck/hbg, when they stopped chasing us we decided to regroup with the lost lads. and walked back. Were stopped by some 20-+ obs in riotgear and they started to search us for weapons and after 5 - 10 mins they released us and told us to go the bus station and take the first bus to malmö... the outcome of the day was that if fck did not had their friends from the swedish club helsingborg it would have been a fair off... with equal numbers..
