Leicester City fans and police clash as Aston Villa celebrate Carabao Cup success
Ugly scenes at Villa Park that followed Aston Villa's historic win over Leicester City last night.
As Villa fans poured onto the pitch in jubilation, ugly scenes played out in the away end with footage appearing to show travelling Leicester City fans in an altercation with stewards and police officers.
Trezeguet 93rd minute strike brought Leicester's cup run to an end as he volleyed home a cross from compatriot, Ahmed Elmohamady.
A goal that sent Villa Park into delirium with fans edging closer and closer to the pitch ahead of the final whistle, ready to celebrate a third visit to Wembley in three years.
But while the home fans invaded the pitch and swamped their heroes as they headed for the tunnel, footage circulating on social media saw frustrations boil over in the away end.
Shocked supporters can be heard in the background, looking down as the ugly scenes unfold.

Guardiola condemns Man United and Man City fan violence and offers Woodward support
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola condemned both sets of fans who got involved in trouble at the end of the Manchester derby.
And he expressed his solidarity with Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward after an incident at his home 24 hours earlier.
At the Etihad Stadium, after City had reached the Carabao Cup final despite losing 1-0 on the night, Reds fans ripped up seats and threw them at rival supporters, while Blues supporters were captured on film making aeroplane gestures in mockery of the Munich air disaster.
The bad blood came after a hostile league derby last month, when United players were hit by missiles and there were allegations of racism from a section of City fans.
Both clubs agreed to a reduction of the normal cup allocation after police expressed their concerns over security following incidents in recent games.
That meant United would have around 5,500 for the game but actually brought 2,800.

Four Cardiff City fans arrested over 'alleged racially aggravated abuse' at Reading
Four Cardiff City fans were arrested for "alleged racially aggravated abuse" during Saturday's 1-1 FA Cup draw at Reading, Thames Valley Police said.
The four males have been released under investigation.
Two of the four, aged 15 and 24, are from Caerphilly, with a 16-year-old from Abergavenny and a 21-year-old from Crickhowell arrested too.
Thames Valley Police said: "The force will continue to work in partnership with the clubs and South Wales Police."
Warnings relating to the alleged incidents were issued via the public address system at Madejski Stadium.
On Saturday, Cardiff City said in a statement they were aware of the allegations.
"We will be speaking with Reading Football Club, Thames Valley Police and South Wales Police - in attendance with our travelling support - to ascertain the facts of the matter," said the Bluebirds.
"We will conduct these conversations with the relevant authorities before making any further comment."
A Football Association spokesperson said the body is aware of the allegations and will also be investigating.

Yeovil Town 'fans' arrested after disorder in Woking ahead of National League clash
Three men have been arrested following a series of disturbances involving a minority of Yeovil Town supporters in Woking town centre on Saturday (January 25).
Police say the arrests were made after a fight broke out at the Herbert Wells pub on Chertsey Road at around 11.30am, before the Glovers took on Woking in the National League.
A further disturbance reportedly broke out at O'Neill's Irish Pub and Bar on Crown Square, while there were reports of more disorder in the town centre.
A 27-year-old from Yeovil and a 20-year-old and 24-year-old from Chard were arrested on suspicion of affray.
The 24-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of class A and class B drugs.
All three men have been released on conditional bail while police continue their investigation.
A spokesman for Wetherspoon, which runs the Herbert Wells, said that trouble was sparked when eight supporters who were asked to leave the pub having taken their own drinks through the door were asked to leave.
He said: "The pub manager told them to leave and they refused.
“All supporters were refused until the young group left.
“One supporter had a go at one of the group and a fight started.
“That was dealt with and the supporters started singing.
“The pub manager asked them to stop but their singing got louder and as a result all the Yeovil supporters were refused service.
“It took around 30 minutes before the supporters left the pub.
“We fully back the actions of the manager at the pub.”
A total of 878 Yeovil supporters had made the journey to Surrey for the game, which saw the Glovers slip to a 1-0 defeat courtesy of a first half strike from Shaun Donnellan.
A spokesman for Surrey Police said: "Three men were arrested after police were called following disturbances in Woking town centre around 11.30am on Saturday.
"Officers were initially called following reports of a fight outside the Wetherspoons pub in Chertsey Road.
"Following further enquiries, the suspects were located in the O’Neill's pub.
"All three men have been released on conditional bail pending further investigation. Enquiries remain ongoing."
Yeovil Town Football Club has been approached for comment.

England : Police and FA investigating alleged crowd disorder during Manchester derby - 30/01/2020
Source : https://www.fourfourtwo.com/
Police and the Football Association are investigating a number of alleged incidents of crowd disorder during Wednesday’s derby clash between Manchester City and Manchester United.
Greater Manchester Police has also confirmed a 43-year-old man was arrested at the Etihad Stadium on suspicion of possessing a flare.
The PA news agency understands police are now working with City to identify any offences or offenders during and after the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg. The FA is also understood to be aware of the alleged incidents and is investigating.
Feelings ran high throughout the game, which United won 1-0 but still lost the tie 3-2 on aggregate.
Missiles were thrown between both sets of supporters including seats and pyrotechnics.
Footage also emerged on social media of individuals in a City section of the ground appearing the make aeroplane gestures in reference to the Munich air disaster, the 62nd anniversary of which is next week.
The incidents came after the Premier League clash between the two clubs at the same venue in December was marred by a City supporter making an apparent racist gesture towards United players.
Speaking after the game, both managers condemned the behaviour of certain supporters.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: “Yes, we want rivalry but let’s keep it at a sane level and let’s make sure we eradicate that now.”
City counterpart Pep Guardiola said: “When you talk about what happened, I didn’t know it but if it would happen, that is not nice. Absolutely not.”

Violence erupts again in Santiago after football fan run over by police
Riots broke out in parts of Santiago overnight and lingered into Thursday after a police truck ran over and killed a football fan earlier this week, marking the most violent protests since unrest broke out late last year, authorities said.
Protesters attacked more than 20 police stations through the night and early morning, shouting in rage, throwing Molotov cocktails and lighting some on fire, leaving one dead and 46 police injured, according to official reports.
Several Santiago metro stations and bus lines were shut down overnight, though most had reopened in the early hours Thursday.
“Without a doubt, this was the most violent day of 2020,” regional police chief Enrique Bassaletti told reporters early Thursday, warning that it harkened back to the “worst moments” of the previous October.
Chile’s police force, known as the Carabineros, came under fire after protests in Chile broke out in late October last year. Several human rights groups accuse security forces of violations from rape to torture and undue force.
The 2019 protests, the most violent since the country’s return to democracy in 1990, plunged Santiago and much of Chile into chaos. Vandals burned downtown buildings, rioters looted hundreds of grocery stores and military tanks took to the streets for the first time since the dictatorship of strongman Augusto Pinochet.
Anger erupted again in Santiago earlier this week when a police truck allegedly ran over and killed a fan of local soccer team Colo-Colo as he left a stadium following an evening match.
Police arrested the driver of the truck and said they are investigating the incident.
Fellow football fans called for a mass protest this Friday evening in a central Santiago square to commemorate the death.
Though violence had largely subsided in recent weeks, scattered incidents across Santiago and Chile point to lingering tensions.

Police probe as West Ham fans smash Liverpool team bus window after London Stadium loss
WEST HAM face fresh questions about security at their London Stadium ground after Liverpool’s team bus was attacked.
Police and the club are now trying to track down Hammers fans who lobbed objects at it resulting in a smashed window.
The incident took place in the stadium car park after West Ham’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool last Wednesday night.
Cops have taken to social media in an appeal to find the culprits and issued a Tweet which read: “A few @WestHam fans have let themselves down when leaving the stadium by throwing items at the Liverpool team coach parked below them in the car park causing one of the windows to break.
“We will be working with the stadium and club to identify those involved.”
A statement from West Ham read: “West Ham United condemn unreservedly the behaviour of the individuals at our match with Liverpool on Wednesday 29 January.
“That kind of behaviour has no place at West Ham United, or indeed in football and we will work with the Police and other stakeholders to review the incidents and act against anyone found guilty of an offence.
“The individuals will be banned for life from London Stadium and from travelling with the Club with immediate effect.
“The vast majority of West Ham supporters want to attend and watch in a safe, friendly and welcoming environment, and we will not allow the actions of a small group of individuals to spoil their experience or tarnish the club”
