Police officer among three injured after trouble flares during Rangers game
A woman and a 13-year-old boy were injured when pyrotechnics were set off during a clash between Livingston and Rangers.
Smoke bombs, bangers and flares were set off in the away section of the stadium during the Betfred Cup quarter-final on Wednesday evening.
The 26-year-old woman suffered a minor leg injury, while the child needed treatment to his eyes.
Both were seen by medics at the stadium and did not have to go to hospital.
A police officer was also struck by a coin which was thrown from the same section.
Chief Inspector Neil Mitchell, the officer in charge of the policing operation for the match, said: “The injuries sustained by the woman and boy caused by the devices, and the consequences, could have had been so much worse.
“Once again it is extremely disappointing and worrying that despite repeated warnings about the risk pyrotechnics bring, a small minority continue to smuggle them into matches.
“The vast majority of those who attended the match were well-behaved and enjoyed the game.
“However, following the actions of a small group of their fellow supporters, two people were injured. It is only down to luck that their injuries were minor.''
He added: “If this continues it can only be a matter of time before someone is injured more seriously.
“We will deal with all those responsible in a robust manner including seeking football banning orders through the courts.''

UEFA punishes Red Star for latest fan racism incident - 27/09/2019
Source : https://sports.inquirer.net/
UEFA has punished Red Star Belgrade for the latest “racist behavior” by its fans, and banned the club from selling tickets to its fans for a Champions League game at Tottenham.
UEFA says its disciplinary panel found the charge proven against the Serbian champion at a qualifying rounds game against HJK Helsinki in Finland in July.
Red Star cannot sell tickets for its next Group B away game, in London on Oct. 22, and was fined 50,000 euros.
The UEFA punishment follows similar fan incidents last season. Charges of racist behavior, illicit chants and crowd disorder led to Red Star playing a home playoff game in an empty stadium and being barred from selling tickets to two group-stage games away from home.
Red Star was ordered to pay UEFA fines totaling 191,000 euros last season, and 122,000 euros so far this season.

Brescia given partial stadium closure following fans' racial abuse of Pjanic - 28/09/2019
Source : https://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/
Serie A club Brescia have been hit with a partial stadium closure following racial abuse aimed at Juventus' Miralem Pjanic, although the punishment is suspended.
The midfielder scored the winning goal in a 2-1 victory for the Serie A champions on Wednesday (AEST) but was reportedly subjected to chants of "zingaro", which in English translates as "gypsy".
Bosnia-Herzegovina international Pjanic subsequently condemned "demented racists" in a post on Instagram about the incident.
Serie A disciplinary chiefs stated in a bulletin on Friday that Brescia's 'Curva Nord' section of their stadium would be closed for one home game; however, it added that the punishment has been suspended for a period of 12 months.

Sheffield Wednesday superfan Tango has been banned from Hillsborough for two years due to his behaviour towards stewards - 27/09/2019
Source : https://www.thestar.co.uk/
The club confirmed yesterday that they had banned the fan for two years for using ‘foul and abusive language’ to female stewards during a match against QPR.
Tango was kicked out of Hillsborough just after half-time with the Owls going on to lose 2-1 on August 31.
A Sheffield Wednesday spokesperson said: “We can confirm Mr Gregory has been excluded from all Sheffield Wednesday fixtures and official club events for a period of two years.
“Mr Gregory used foul and abusive language in an extremely aggressive manner to female stewards during our home fixture against QPR this month, leaving both deeply upset.
“Three days prior, Mr Gregory was ejected from the Carabao Cup-tie at Rotherham for offences which were in clear breach of EFL ground regulations and wholly unbefitting of the conduct we expect from our supporters.
“Mr Gregory, who has been warned over his conduct on numerous occasions historically, agreed that his actions were unacceptable in a recent meeting with the club’s safety officer, at which he was informed of the banning order. This has since been confirmed in writing and he now has the right to appeal this decision.”
In a post on Facebook, Tango sent Sheffield Wednesday fans a message thanking them for their support over the last 40 years.
Sheffield Wednesday and the EFL have published a number of ground regulations and supporter safety guidelines that fans must follow during games.
The club state: “Sheffield Wednesday are reminding supporters of their conduct whilst following the team both at Hillsborough and away from home.
“Recent incidents of unacceptable behaviour have undermined the family values of our club and those responsible will be sanctioned in the strictest possible way if identified, together with their details being passed to the respective police force.
“Sanctions include up to three-year and lifetime bans if deemed necessary.”

Fireworks flung onto pitch during FAI Cup semi-final game between Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers as ref threatens to suspend match
The fierce rivals are currently going head-to-head at a sold-out Dalymount Park tonight for a place in next months Aviva Stadium-hosted final.
A number of flares were lit up prior to kick off causing the stadium to fill up with smoke.
And when Rovers forward Graham Burke gave the Hoops the lead on five minutes, fireworks were thrown onto the pitch during the celebrations.
The game was delayed for a number of minutes as both sides waited for the smoke to clear.
Fans were then warned that if anymore pyrotechnics were thrown onto the pitch referee Rob Hennessy would suspend the game.

Glasgow Rangers - Aberdeen FC - 28/09/2019

Rangers v Aberdeen: 'There seems to be a bit of hatred between both sets of supporters' says Steven Gerrard
Steven Gerrard has admitted he was taken aback by what he describes as ‘a bit of hatred’ in the rivalry between Rangers and Aberdeen.
“I love it, it’s a great fixture. I didn’t realise how big the fixture is until I came up and got involved in it.
“I knew Aberdeen were a big team with history and I knew a bit about Derek as a player having played against him and watched him from afar.
“But until you actually come up and are part of Rangers or Aberdeen, you don’t realise that it’s quite intense and there is a big rivalry there.
“There seems to be a bit of hatred between both sets of supporters but it’s part and parcel of the excitement of the league. It’s one of the fixtures you look for at the beginning of the season and I’m sure we are going to have many more battles.

Ajax Amsterdam - FC Groningen - 28/09/2019
Source : https://www.24.news/
Ninety Groningen supporters fixed for 'fight appointment' with Ajax support
Ninety FC Groningen supporters were arrested in an Amsterdam bar. According to the police, they had a fight date with Ajax supporters.
The police took action after a tip. The people from Groningen sat in a café in the Rivierenbuurt in Amsterdam South. They had boxing brackets, heavy fireworks, protective mouth bits and safety glasses with them. Quite a few small packages of cocaine have also been found. None of them had a ticket for tonight's game.
According to the manager of the cafe, there was no grim atmosphere for the arrests. "The supporters behaved nicely. They were just drinking nice beers." The arrests also went smoothly, he says. "They also asked the police: can we just leave? But that was not allowed. Yet they remained calm and paid their bills."
Drained in a city bus
The police demanded a city bus to take the supporters to the police cell. The police spokesperson does not know whether the bus was running according to the timetable and carrying passengers at that time.
There were also Ajax supporters in the neighborhood, police say. They got upset when they saw the police coming.

Holland : Roda JC - De Graafschap - 27/09/2019

Potential Mexican investor chased out of stadium by angry fans
A potential investor in Dutch club Roda JC Kerkrade was chased out of their stadium on Friday by angry supporters.
Mauricio Garcia de la Vega was heckled from the start of the Dutch second division game against De Graafschaap and then confronted by supporters at half-time, who marched him out of the stadium, social media videos showed.
"Police on Friday provided safety to a potential investor in Roda JC," said a statement from regional police.
"The man had a discussion with supporters who then took him out of the stadium in Kerkrade where he got stuck and was brought to safety. Police are investigating."
Supporters groups had planned to remove de la Vega, described as a sports agent and concert promoter, from the stadium before the match in protest of his proposed takeover of the struggling club.

The Limburg derby game was definitively stopped when Genk supporters tried to invade the pitch.
"Players' safety was not on its top at this moment", said the STVV chairman, David Meekers.
Firstly, it was St Truiden supporters who showed them badly, as they caused the 1st stop of the game as it was 0-3 at that time. The game was stopped for 15 minutes and then, it was Genk supporters who continued.
