Ugly scenes in Madrid as dozens of Tottenham fans are 'battered by police' - including one supporter 'carrying an eight-year-old boy' - on eve of all-English Champions League final with Liverpools
Dozens of Tottenham fans were 'battered by police' in Madrid ahead of their team's Champions League clash with Liverpool, it is claimed.
Supporters travelled in good numbers for the all-English final against Liverpool but anticipation appears to have been overshadowed by ugly scenes near Puerta del Sol on Friday night.
In a social media clip posted on Tottenham fan account COYS News, police are seen entering the bar with batons before one supporter drinking outside the restaurant appears to be struck by an officer.

Two England fans held and more injured after bottles thrown and Portuguese police baton charge supporters in Porto - 05/06/2019
Source : https://www.thesun.co.uk/
TROUBLE flared in Portuguese soccer city Porto last night as England fans clashed with police and two were arrested.
Two England fans were hurt — one suffering a minor head injury and another a cut hand — in the skirmish next to Aliados metro station in Liberdade Square.
England fans at the scene blamed a Portuguese rival who is said to have thrown a bottle when Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring against Switzerland with a first half free kick.
But police confirmed that two England supporters were arrested after the skirmish.
Around 150 English supporters in a Uefa Nations League fan zone were watching the first semi-final on big screens when they clashed with locals before cops moved in to drive the factions apart.
Some fans claimed the police response was heavy handed, saying the cops launched the charge after just one beer bottle had been thrown in the air.
Eye witness Ollie Garfield wrote on Twitter: "Before any stories go around about England fans being hooligans... a lot of people stood watching the game casually enjoying themselves. A beer went in the air which led to Portuguese police charging and hitting every person in sight..."
He added: "Witnessed it first hand. Pepper spray, batons and excessive force used. Luckily our group escaped with minor injuries but @UEFAEURO @UEFA when you choose a location for a tournament, make sure the city is up to hosting it."
It was the first incident reported as an estimated 18,000 England supporters arrived in Portugal for the Nations League finals running until Sunday.
England play Holland tomorrow cheered on by their biggest army of travelling fans in years.
TWO INJURED The fan from Blackburn, Lancs who suffered the hand injury said last night: “It kicked off when one of the Portuguese threw a bottle at the English when their goal went in.
“Around 150-200 ran towards them and there were scuffles before it calmed down.
“I got deliberately tripped as I was running and think I cut my hand when I landed on glass.”
Another fan wearing a West Bromwich Albion shirt was seen being treated for a wound to the back of his head by paramedics.
Fans scattered in panic again as skirmishes erupted once more when Ronaldo fired in his second goal at another big screen in the lower part of the square.
Panicking locals ran to take cover in McDonalds near the screen as bottles were thrown and lines of riot cops pushed back chanting England fans.
Police cleared the area in front of the screen and calm was restored before Ronaldo completed his hat-trick with a brilliant clincher.

England fans left fearing for their lives after being 'caught in crush' outside stadium when digital ticketing system 'completely failed'
England fans were left fearing for their lives after a 'digital ticketing system failure' caused a 'terrible crush' outside a stadium in Guimaraes ahead of their Nations League semi-final against Holland.
Footage online showed England fans clashing with police as they tried to enter the ground in the minutes prior to kick-off in Thursday's encounter.
One fan said he was left with black and blue ribs and scared for his life while a photo showed hordes of supporters in long lines at turnstiles moments before the game began.
Speaking to Sportsmail, England supporter Carl Davies said: 'There is a new mobile ticketing system in place for the Nations League, it only comes active on your phone through Bluetooth at the stadium. It worked well last night in Porto but tonight, having gone through outer cordon the system crashed.
'Tickets disappeared off phones and turnstiles stopped. Trouble is, it's 7:15 to 7.30, kick off 15 minutes away we were funnelled into an area with walls either side and closed turnstiles in front.
'The police gave-up trying to stop the crush and got out of the way, which forced those right at front to get seriously crushed. My my ribs are black and blue. It was over 10 minutes before they opened the gates to alleviate the crush. People were screaming.'
In a statement following the game, UEFA said: 'The turnstile operation at certainly parts of the stadium tonight was slightly slower than anticipated and this - coupled with the late arrival of supporters at the stadium - led to congestion at some entrances.
'As fans started to push their way to the entrance, a dozen police officers briefly intervened to restore order. After assessing the situation, the police decided to open the turnstiles and let around 800 fans - who all had already undergone the initial ticket check - enter the stadium.'
Another Three Lions supporter claimed police were 'batoning England fans without reason' as scenes appeared to turn nasty in footage that emerged online.
It has been claimed that the system crashed around 30 minutes before kick-off and a desire to get in saw fans surge forward, creating crushes. Many were said to be 'screaming in pain' before the gates were opened at 7.45pm - when the match got underway - in a bid to relieve the pressure outside the ground.
One supporter, writing on the England Supporters Travel Club Facebook page, condemned the treatment of supporters in the lead up to the semi-final. He wrote: 'We need answers England Supporters Travel Club. The entrance to the stadium tonight was horrific.
'People were fearing for their wellbeing. England fans queuing in a sensible manner. Turnstile system was not working. Queues were building. Getting bigger and bigger, and no movement up front.
'Next thing stewards shut gates 6 and 7 and there was a large charge because fans were trying to get inside the gates areas after queuing for over 45 minutes, police ran at fans stuck at the gate with batons, hammering people.
'When people asked questions they then got Batonned. Questions continued to be asked, British police got to the front and requested calm. 10 minutes later we were told those gates had been closed and to go elsewhere.
'Another 5 minutes later, gates 4 and 5 got completely opened without checks and everyone was directed to the upper tier, but all to the exact same section so no room in the isles and a crush in that area of the stadium.'

Tommy Robinson punches England fan to the ground outside Nations League game then says ‘you’ll get knocked out again’ - 07/06/2019
Source : https://www.thesun.co.uk/
The EDL founder was seen walking among crowds in Guimaraes, Portugal, when he unleashed the sudden strike - sending the other man sprawling to the floor.
Robinson - whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon - today released a video admitting the attack, but claimed the England fan had confronted him twice before he lashed out.
The provocation the former football hooligan alleges is not shown in the video.
The video appears to show two groups arguing, with 36-year-old Robinson walking towards the fan and punching him outside the Estádio D. Afonso Henriques.
Robinson then appears to tell the England fan: "you'll get knocked out again bruv".
The far right figure, who was wearing a camouflage jacket at the time, shrugged off criticism as one man could be heard telling him "there's no need for that, is there?"
A supporter could be heard yelling "go on Tommy lad".
At the time of the attack, it did not appear that the fan was in Robinson's face.
Instead, the divisive figure can be seen walking up to him and unleashing the sudden strike to the fan's face.
In a video released today, Robinson claimed he had been with his wife when the fan came up to him being "rowdy" and "abusive".
He said he then told his wife to walk away, and asked the fan's friends to keep the man away from him.
Robinson said: "I'm not going to wait for him to attack me.
"Twice, I warned him - twice I warned his friends."
He then described the next moments of the confrontation, saying: "He came back and next thing, as I told him - come back towards me again - you're the one coming towards me.
"I'm walking, you're already the one who has come up to me twice.
"So, I'll defend anyone who will attack me, abuse me in front of my wife."
He added: "A man should keep his opinions to himself and his mouth to himself."
It is also unknown if the incident has been reported to local police.
UK police cannot investigate an attack that has taken place abroad or ask that an alleged crime be investigated.
Robinson had earlier been spotted at Stansted Airport, ready to fly to Portugal for the game.
Wearing the same camo jacket as in the recent punch video, he tells the camera: "I'm in Portugal...at the game, no football banning order here mate."
The divisive figure has previously faced a 12-month community rehabilitation order and a three-year ban from football by Luton magistrates after yelling "EDL til I die" during a brawl involving 100 football fans in 2010.
And he successfully won a court case that prevented the police from imposing a football banning order on him that would have stopped him from entering his hometown of Luton for 12 hours on Saturdays when Luton Town FC were playing in 2016.

Portugal police monitoring hooligans during UEFA Nations League - 08/06/2019
Source : http://www.lessentiel.lu/
Authorities are monitoring hooligans who are in Portugal for the UEFA Nations League.
Portuguese officials said Saturday some fans known to have caused problems in soccer matches in the past are in the country but are being monitored by police and by Portuguese and English “spotters.”
Portugal plays the Netherlands in the final of UEFA’s newest competition on Sunday in Porto, while England takes on Switzerland in the third-place game hours earlier in nearby Guimaraes.
Authorities said 2,500 security personnel will be involved at the matches, with about 1,500 in Porto and 1,000 in Guimaraes.
Officials said there have been no major incidents involving fans during the Nations League, although six people have been detained – two British citizens and four Portuguese.
Two Portuguese officers sustained minor injuries, along with a British citizen and two American citizens.
Police said the two British citizens who were detained were ordered to pay fines and will face “banning orders” from soccer matches when they return to England.
They were taken into custody after an altercation involving fans and police on the streets of Porto on Wednesday. Fans hurled bottles at locals and sang about World War II and the Irish Republican Army.
Portuguese authorities said fans will be prohibited to carry bottles or any type of glass containers in some areas of Porto to avoid a repeat of the problems this week.
About 5,000 Dutch fans are expected in Porto for Sunday’s final.
Many English fans had already returned home after the national team’s elimination to the Netherlands in the semifinals. Portuguese officials said about 15,000 tickets had been sold for the third-place match in Guimaraes.
The English Football Association called the fans’ behavior an “embarrassment” and said they were “not welcome in football.”
England coach Gareth Southgate said on Thursday: “The saddest thing for me is that we have thousands upon thousands of fans who come here and support us brilliantly. And then we have a group who are an embarrassment. As an Englishman, they’re not supporters of the team. They reflect so poorly on us as a country. We don’t associate ourselves with them at all.”
English supporters drink and sing on Friday, June 7, 2019 in the city center of Porto, Portugal, the day after England lost their UEFA Nations League semifinal soccer match against the Netherlands. England will play Switzerland in a third place play-off match on upcoming Sunday.

A policeman was left covered in blood after Romanian supporters rioted following a crushing defeat
The shocking incident occurred after the first leg of the first division relegation play-off on Sunday night.
Goals from Petrisor Petrescu and Juvhel Tsoumou gave Hermannstadt the advantage as they secured a 2-0 victory at the home of their rivals.
Over 25,000 fans watched on in shock as two quick-fire goals in the 79th and 80th-minute severely dented their hopes of top-flight football next season.
And the result proved too much for a section of the locals.
A large number of the home supporters made their way down towards the bottom of the stand after the full-time whistle to express their fury.
Objects and debris were flung down towards the pitch as riot police rushed over to try and stop the angry mob.
But unfortunately for one cop he was struck on the head by a missile, believed to be a stone.
The officer immediately slumped to the ground unconscious as blood began pouring from his head.
Colleagues quickly rushed to aid of the stricken victim as the worrying scene was caught on camera.
But fears mounted as the cop stayed prone on the ground as the pool of blood grew bigger.
The policeman was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Fortunately, reports in Romania today have confirmed he is in a stable condition.
