PAOK docked six points, AEK Athens fined after Greek Cup violence - 02/06/2017
Source: http://www.espnfc.co.uk/
The Greek football association has punished PAOK and AEK Athens after supporter violence marred last month's Greek Cup final. The association's disciplinary committee has ruled that PAOK will lose six points from next season's league tally, play seven home games behind closed doors and pay a fine of €282,500. AEK have been fined €170,000 and ordered to play three home games behind closed doors.
AEK will therefore play in the qualifying rounds of the Champions League. More than 40 people were hurt in the violence, two of them seriously, police said on Saturday. The game was delayed by around half an hour after fighting began when AEK and PAOK fans, who were supposed to be separated, met on a footbridge outside the stadium that was not policed. Violence lasted for about 30 minutes before riot police, using stun grenades and chemicals, intervened.

Turin stampede: 1,000 injured, Italian police say - 03/06/2017
Source: http://www.bbc.com/
About 1,000 people were injured in the Italian city of Turin after a firecracker provoked a stampede on Saturday night, police say.
Thousands of football fans were watching a live relay of Juventus' Champions League final against Real Madrid in Cardiff when a bang was heard and rumours of an explosion spread. At least two people, including a seven-year-old child, were seriously hurt. With 10 minutes of the second half remaining, crowds rushed away from the centre of Piazza San Carlo, crushing people against barriers. Bags and shoes were left scattered on the ground as people ran screaming out of the square. A seven-year-old boy is reported to be in critical condition in hospital with head and chest injuries. Some of the injuries occurred when a barrier around the entrance to an underground car park gave way. For some Juventus fans, the incident brought back traumatic memories of the 1985 Heysel stadium disaster, where 39 people, most of them Italians fans, were killed when a wall collapsed on them before the European Cup final against Liverpool.

England : Banning orders for football fans after clashing at city pub - 02/06/2017
Source: http://www.nottinghampost.com/
Five hooligans must carry out unpaid work after a pub was the scene of a clash between Notts County and Mansfield Town fans.
Nottingham magistrates also imposed orders banning eight men from going near football grounds when matches are due to the played. The restriction lasts for three years. One fan was jailed for three months for breach of a suspended sentence imposed for a domestic assault. Magistrate Pam Draper told Keiron Hollingsworth: "You were three months into the order when you went to a football match intent on causing violence." A £120 fine and £85 prosecution costs were ordered from Hollingsworth, 21, of Haddon Road, Mansfield. He admitted threatening behaviour at the Major Oak on Pelham Street, in Nottingham city centre, on January 14.
He claimed to be a member of Mansfield Shady Express, a fans' group. On the day of the offence, he said he had 15 pints and was "bladdered." His solicitor Jo Chadd said: "He accepts some verbal abuse while inside the pub. He accepts the terminology he used would not be appropriate in the circumstances." During a series of hearings, the JPs were told that Notts County entertained Mansfield Town that day, with the kick-off set for 1pm to deter people from "drinking heavily." Donna Fawcett, prosecuting, said Mansfield fans went to the Major Oak because they knew Magpies' supporters were inside. Police attended but were outnumbered with the arrival of more away fans. Abuse was shouted and one man "constantly gestured aggressively towards the Notts County group", said Miss Fawcett. She told the court: "Some were trying to disguise their identity by pulling hoods up or wearing face coverings. "One said he was looking for the 'top boy from Notts County'. That was interpreted that he was looking for the 'top boy' to have a fight with him."
When questioned later, another man claimed to be a member of Mansfield Shady Express, who wear Stone Island clothing and chant "MSE" at matches. Miss Fawcett said: "The background was that there were raised tensions between Mansfield hooligans and Nottingham hooligans. Officers are very experienced and know many of the offenders." A charge of disorderly conduct was admitted by Connor Slaney, 18, of Forest Street, Kirkby-in-Ashfield. He was fined £80 with £115 costs and was banned from matches. The court heard that he had been identified as being among Mansfield fans who visited Newport County for a match in August last year. "Pro English and anti-Welsh songs were sung," said Miss Fawcett. Miss Chadd, who represented Slaney, told the court: "He accepts he was there and accepts some singing but can't remember what was sung." Stacey Mighty spoke for former soldier Phillip Merryweather, 56, of The Quadrangle, Newstead Village. He admitted threatening behaviour when he chased a man. She said he suffered from post traumatic stress disorder and had a drink problem, which is now under control. Miss Mighty added: "He is extremely remorseful for his actions that day." Merryweather was one of the five ordered to carry out 100 hours unpaid community work.
The others were Lee Haywood, 45, of North Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield; Thomas McCormack, 18, of The Rodery, Mansfield; Gregg Robbins, 44, of Markham Place, Mansfield; Aeron Collier, 24, of Teignmouth Avenue, Mansfield. All admitted threatening behaviour. A seven-week curfew was imposed on Tony Wright, 43, of Cardale Road, Pleasley who admitted the charge. Because of health problems, the probation service said he was not regarded as fit enough for community work. He must wear an electronic tag to ensure he remains indoors every Friday and Saturday night between 8.30pm and 7am. Wright told the magistrates: "I apologise. I am ashamed for what happened."

Riot police move in to separate warring Wales and Serbia fans at World Cup qualifier
TROUBLE flared as Wales battled to hold on to their slender 1-0 lead in Serbia. After Aaron Ramsey’s cheeky chip of a penalty – known as a Panenka after the man who made it famous, Antonin Panenka – riot police were reported to have moved in to break up warring fans.
Ramsey’s goal in the World Cup Group D qualifier was the catalyst for the trouble.
A Belgrade crowd of around 40,000 – Serbia’s biggest in 10 years – became very disrupted as fears of a massive confrontation spread round the stadium. Serbians were reported to have stolen Welsh flags and missiles, while punches were thrown between railings.

Six hospitalised in Brazil football violence
Six persons were taken to hospital after a brawl erupted between rival football fans before the start of the Brazilian Serie A match between Coritiba and Corinthians in the southern city of Curitiba.
At least one of the fans, Jonathan Jose Gomes da Silva, 29, was in a serious condition at the Trabalhador hospital, according to police spokesman Clovis Galvao, reports Xinhua news agency.
The violence delayed the start of Sunday's match after Corinthians players initially refused to leave their dressing room over safety fears.
"Unfortunately, violence and cowardice have again become the major themes of a Sunday matchday," Corinthians said on their official Twitter account.
Coritba also condemned the actions of fans. "Off the pitch it has been a very sad day for all lovers of football," the club said in a statement. "We hope that those responsible will be punished."

London: Violent clashes in capital as EDL marches spark mayhem - 24/06/2017
Source: http://www.dailystar.co.uk/
A MARCH organised by the English Defence League has sparked riots across the capital.
Riot police have scrambled to far-right and anti-fascist protest marches in central London.
The EDL took to the streets on Saturday, with United Against Facism and United Against Extremism also in the area. Scotland Yard said it was taking action under public order laws over the marches planned for Saturday. Meanwhile, in Birmingham up to 200 Britain First supporters have taken to the streets to protest while a similar number got together in Liverpool. The EDL descended on Trafalgar Square, while the Football Lads Alliance marched on London Bridge – the scene of the deadly terror attack that killed eight people earlier this month.
The protests come in the wake of deadly terrorist attacks on Finsbury Park mosque, the Manchester Arena, Westminster Bridge and London Bridge. Superintendent Emma Richards said: "We have made the decision to impose conditions based on current tensions and concerns, information about the intentions of the organisers of these events and intelligence from previous marches held by similar groups. "We believe the approach is appropriate. "We have a duty to ensure that the community in central London can go about their daily business not unduly impacted by demonstrations taking place."
Rules laid down by police meant the EDL march in the heart of London was only allowed to legally take place for 90 minutes from 1pm on a route from Charing Cross to a rally on the Victoria Embankment. A counter-demonstration by Unite Against Fascism (UAF) was allowed to take place on the Victoria Embankment only between 12.30pm and 3pm. Assembly at any other location is not permitted.

Football fans killed in Honduras after stampede at sold-out final between Motagua and Honduras Progreso
At least four people have died at a stampede during a Honduras league final. Fans of Motagua were crushed as they faced Honduras Progreso at the 35,000 capacity Estadio Tiburcio Carias Andino in the capital Tegucigalpa.
It has been reported that too many tickets had been sold for the match, although Motagua officials deny the accusation. The club hit back saying that "responsible authorities immediately that fake tickets were being circulated" which "enabled people to enter the stadium illegally to watch the final between Motagua and El Progreso - people who apparently occupied seats that were not theirs, forcing others to leave the area".

German football hooligans trade punches and flying kicks during a mass brawl outside a bar in Majorca - 29/06/2017
Source : http://www.dailymail.co.uk/
This is the moment some 20 German football hooligans traded blows in a mass brawl on the holiday island of Majorca. The footage begins with the two groups squaring up to each other in front of a bar, before one man wearing a white shirt and sunglasses lashes out with his boot. Another thug responds with a flying kick aimed at the man's chest, but he lands heavily on his back, as the opposing fans rush to attack him while he is down.
By the side of the road stand half a dozen heavily-tattooed men wearing swimming shorts, who watch on with their hands by their sides. The hooligans on the right of the screen, some ten strong, rush forward to land a hail of kicks and punches.
Their opponents, who appear outnumbered, move back before hitting out with their fists, and the thugs battle each other in small groups before reforming into two lines. The opposing groups goad each other with threats of violence as shocked witnesses, including one man carrying a beach towel, watch on.
As the footage ends the thugs appear to be walking apart and the violence has subsided. The fight, filmed on Wednesday, was between hooligans from Borussia Dortmund against those from FC Schalke and Rot-Weiß Oberhausen. Borussia Dortmund and Schalke are known to be fierce rivals, and the Revierderby - or Ruhr Derby - between them is heavily policed.
Oberhausen, who are also from the Ruhr region in the west of Germany, appear to have teamed up with Schalke to take on Dortmund. One man wearing what appears to be a Schalke shirt can be seen in the one-minute video, but as most of the thugs are in casual gear it is unclear which side is which. Majorca, on of the Balearic Islands off the east coast of Spain, is a popular holiday destination attracting millions of visitors every year.
