Teen arrested after goalkeeper attacked on pitch in Sweden
A masked fan ran onto the pitch, attacked a goalkeeper and said he had left a bomb in the stands of a top flight Swedish match on Monday, forcing the game to be abandoned in the final minute.
Police arrested a 17-year-old after the incident at the clash between Jonkoping Sodra and Ostersund, whose keeper Aly Keita was chased and knocked down before a security guard wrestled his attacker to the ground.
"I am shocked and angry. It is awful that something like this could happen," the 29-year-old goalkeeper told reporters, adding he had been struck on the temple.
The youth told police he had left a bomb in the stands, but a search yielded nothing suspicious.
"He is under arrest, we have informed the prosecutor of the arrest and interviews will be conducted with him about the suspected breaches of the law," Jonkoping police commander Peter Nordengard told reporters.
Referee Jonas Eriksson abandoned the match in the 90th minute with the score tied at 1-1.
A statement from the Swedish FA said the match would not be restarted and that its disciplinary committee would decide if result should stand, or if away side Ostersund should be awarded a 3-0 victory if Jonkoping are found to have failed in their duty of care as match arrangers to ensure security.

Football fans defy rules, wave Palestinian flags in political protest
Scottish football club Celtic faces a sanction from UEFA, Europe's football governing body, after fans waved Palestinian flags during a Champions League match against Israel's Hapoel Beer Sheva.
The demonstration was organised by Celtic fans for Palestine, who ignored a warning by Scottish police prior to the match, to protest against Israeli military occupation in the Palestinian territories.
Celtic won the game 5-2 but faces a fine from UEFA, which bans political expression at matches.
Article 16 of UEFA's disciplinary regulation states that clubs "are liable on the part of their supporters and may be subject to disciplinary measures" in case of "the use of gestures, words, objects or any other means to transmit any message that is not fit for a sports event, particularly messages that are of a political, ideological, religious, offensive or provocative nature."
Celtic has been fined by UEFA eight times in less than five years.
In July 2014, the team was forced to pay £16,000 ($21,047) after Palestinian flags were waved at another Champions League qualifier against KR Reykjavik.

Former footballer Dominik Koszowski stabbed to death by Polish hooligans as former club pay tribute to 'brave, strong and determined' 19-year-old
A 19-year-old former Polish footballer has tragically died after being stabbed to death by hooligans.
GKS Katowice, who play in the second tier of Polish football, announced the tragic news that their former player Dominik Koszowski passed away at the weekend.
Describing him as 'brave, strong and determined', the club signed Koszowski as a nine-year-old but he retired from football in June of this year due to injury.
According to reports in Poland, the teenager was killed in the early hours of Sunday morning when he was stabbed at a train station in Katowice.
The former footballer was with his father when he was pounced upon by attackers, believed to be fans from a rival football club.

Dutch FA unveils new method for keeping hooligans away - 25/08/2016
Source : http://en.as.com/
Football Federation (KNVB) aims to use digital fingerprints and global positioning systems to keep hooligans away from football grounds.
The Dutch Football Federation (KNVB) aims to use digital fingerprints and global positioning systems to keep hooligans away from football grounds.
'The idea is that people who are banned from stadiums should have to identify themselves with their fingerprint on a telephone that uses GPS before, during and after the match,' KNVB spokesman Hans van Kastel told AFP.
That way authorities can know that banned hooligans are not in grounds.
The idea has been tested over a period of a year using 'several dozen' people as volunteers and Van Kastel said the KNVB are now in discussions with the government in the hope of making the scheme obligatory for all those slapped with banning orders.
More than 1,300 people in the Netherlands are currently banned from entering stadiums, with 890 of those bans being issued in 2015 alone.
But hundreds of those supporters are regularly able to find a way around the bans -- ADO Den Haag are the only club in the Dutch league equipped with a biometric verification system for identifying hooligans.
'We are not an airport and we can't control everybody. Coming to the stadium has to remain a pleasant thing to do,' Van Kastel added.

Police arrest seven fans after Sunderland and Middlesbrough's Premier League clash
Police arrested seven men as part of the derby day operation for the Sunderland v Middlesbrough match on Sunday.
Three men were arrested for conspiracy to cause violent disorder, two for disorderly conduct, one for an affray and one for breach of the peace after the match at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland.
The Black Cats lost 1-2 in what was the team’s first home game of the season.
It was the first time the North East rivals had played each other since 2012.
Sunderland City Council banned half of the dozen food vans who trade in streets near the stadium from attending due to a “high risk of disorder”.
The other eight food traders were only allowed to trade up until half time, as has always been the case when the Tyne-Wear derby is in the city.
Superintendent Sarah Pitt said: “This was the first match of the season and there was a lot of excitement surrounding this fixture.
“We enjoyed being part of that and there was a positive atmosphere among both sets of supporters both before and after the game.
“There were a handful of arrests but that is not unusual with football matches and the vast majority of supporters behaved impeccably.
“We want to praise both sets of fans for celebrating the passion of North East football and setting the mark for the season ahead.”
Although many Sunderland fans don’t class Middlesbrough matches as a true derby – arguing that Newcastle United are the real rivals – the atmosphere ahead of matches is often charged.

DYANMO DRESDEN fans hurtled a severed bull’s head at their rivals RB Leipzig during their German Cup game on Saturday.
In protest at RB’s existence, the Dresden supporters chucked the mutilated beast’s bonce into their own Stadion Dresden stadium.
It is thought the bull reference relates to RB Leipzig’s founders, energy drink maker Red Bull, who established the club just seven years ago in 2009.

Leicester and Arsenal fans clash after the final whistle of their Premier League draw at King Power Stadium
LEICESTER’s clash with Arsenal threatened to boil over as fans confronted each other after the match.
Stewards needed to intervene as tempers flared between both sets of supporters after the draw at the King Power Stadium.
The security staff appeared to have the situation under control, though, as crowds began to disperse after a short stand off.
It was about as much incident there was on Saturday night as the champions and Arsene Wenger’s side played out a 0-0 draw.
Both teams remain winless after their opening two Premier League games, with champions Leicester frustrating the visitors for long spells on Saturday evening.

Anti-Semitic Polish Football Fans Burned 'Jewish' Effigies, Called For Violence Against Jews - 30/08/2016
Source : http://www.ibtimes.com/
A group of fans for a Polish soccer team burned effigies apparently representing Jewish people and unfurled an anti-Semitic banner calling for Jews to be burned, reported the Jerusalem Post Monday.
The incident occurred at a rally during a match between two local rival squads. Supporters of the club Widzew Łódź apparently engaged in the anti-Semitic display against the club ŁKS Łódź, widely considered a "Jewish" club by opposing clubs' fans, like British team Tottenham Hotspur or Dutch team Ajax.
Anti-Semitism watchdog group the Coordination Forum for Countering Antisemitism put out a report detailing what it found happened at the rally. About 50 supporters of Widzew Łódź gathered at a local train station and displayed a banner reading, "19.08, today the Jews were named. Let them burn, motherf----rs," the group found. The date relates to ŁKS Łódź, which was founded in 1908.
The report also stated that, "photos from the demonstration show effigies appearing to be dressed as Orthodox Jews being strung from rope and set on fire."
Jonny Daniels, head of the Holocaust research group From the Depths who works with the Polish government, expressed the need to take action against the Widzew Łódź supporters.
"This is a shameful example of xenophobia, racism and anti-Semitism in sports, where it truly has no place," Daniels told The Algemeiner, a U.S.-based Jewish newspaper. "We are calling on the Polish government to take strong measures to ensure that such repulsive acts are met with a strong hand and the full force of the law. Poland is a modern, open country and hooligans such as these belong in jail, not watching soccer matches."
This is far from the first case of anti-Semitism in Polish soccer. In fact, there have been a couple of instances against fans of Widzew Łódź, which is also known as a so-called Jewish club. In 2013, ŁKS Łódź fans held an event in which fans could throw objects at "Jews," or people dressed in Widzew Łódź uniforms. That same year, fans of another club chanted during a game against Widzew Łódź, "Move on, Jews! Your home is at Auschwitz! Send you to the gas [chamber]," according to CNN. After an investigation a prosecutor decided not to take against the fans of the other club, Lech Poznan, "on the grounds that their chants were directed at the opposing team and not specifically at Jews," CNN reported.
