I seem to remember fighting in 3 different sides of the ground that day; with Oxford getting the better of all of it. Shortly before 5pm,I also set my own personal sprint best; when legging it up the Braemar Road from 3 of the visitors who were on the look out for some "afters" and decided I was fair game. I was just catching my breath from that at the bus stop, when more of the visitors stopped off in a transit to exchange "pleasantries". I was fortunate to get away with being chucked on the floor with a not very serious boot in the ribs.

The rags fans took over the Manny Road North Terrace and I remember bits of pitch invasions from the Embankment before the start of the game.

We drew 0-0 that night and a particular Scouser had been giving us grief all night. The same scruffy bastard seemed to be following us back to the car which we parked well away from Anfield. A group had gathered which included this particular scouser and were throwing insults at us along the way. Just as they were gonna start to have a go at us we ran accross the road followed by the group, just as we were running we heard one hell of a thud, one of them got hit by a car, we stopped running and went back for a look, not too sure which one of them but he was covered in blood. We just walked back to the car. Never did find out what happened to the poor scouse twat.

First day of the '79 season Blackburn away, 1-1 draw, no problems, got the train back to Euston. At tube station Newcastle had just been relegated and had played at Millwal, They were still hanging around London and ambushed us in the tube, it was a full scale riot they just wanted to kick the s***e out of cockneys, Palace, kids, old couples on a night out, anybody. Right in front of my eyes a woman in her 60's got knocked to the ground she was on all fours, then this bloke just gave her a bloody great kick in the face, she went out light a light, dads were trying to protect their kids, it was raining bottles, it was absolutely terrifying. By the grace of god me and my mate did not get a scratch and lived to tell the tale we just got through the grill before someone slammed it shut, those poor sods on the other side, god help 'em.

| Derby County – Manchester City – 25/04/1980Source: http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk - MCFC viewGame ended, City are fenced in Derby’s nutcases probably 150 of them are on the pitch in the centre circle goading City to come at them; one guy jumps the fence and runs 50 yards into the centre circle and gets thrown about like a rag doll. A van was also smashed up by Derby that day. | |

| Bayer Leverkusen - 1FC Köln - 16/09/1979 Source: German press Around thirty police officers and footballers were injured. Two arrests: that's the shocking outcome of this Bundesliga match, billed as a big game and a local derby. What happened before, during and especially after the match between supporters and the police explains these figures. It was a street brawl the likes of which we'd hardly ever seen here. People lying on the ground were being kicked and people were hitting each other with chains. A parody of sport, riots that put the Bundesliga to the test. From the outset, however, the police had taken precautions and received reinforcements from their colleagues in Cologne, who were experienced in dealing with FC Köln supporters. But what happened after the match surpassed all the rioting that had already taken place. Bayer 04 supporters were even seen tearing down fence posts in the park to confront the visitors. | |
