| RSC Charleroi - Olympique Lyonnais - Friendly game - 22/07/2006Source : mail - Lyon lad view About 30-35 Lyon lads for this game for the equal number of locals. After 2-3 phonecalls we arrived in a street with both sides on a toe-to-toe, everyone singing: 'Charleroi and Lyon Hooligans'. Two or three minutes of a violent but fait fight took place. No one retreated. The fight stopped before the police arriving, each one congratulating the other. ************************************************************ Source: mail - local lad view After many contacts between both sides, about 30 Lyon lads arrived in Charleroi. Lads from both sides arranged an off. The Lyon mob, well organised (arriving like Russians), fronted the equal number of locals, arriving not so organised (many meters between all lads). A violent fight took place between both first lines. No weapons used and the fight stopped each time a lad lied on the ground. On Lyon side, a major part of the mob fought, on local side, about 15 fought, the rest mainly watching. The fight stopped when an amublance arrived, before the police forces. Each mob congratulating the other. _________________ | |

| Brazilian soccer fan killed in clash between rival gangs - 10/07/2006
Source: News from Russia.com
A 20-year-old soccer fan was hacked to death and dozens were arrested after a brutal clash between rival soccer gangs, police confirmed Monday.
Rafick da Silva Cancio was lashed three times with a sickle when a brawl erupted Sunday during a chance meeting of Flamengo and Botafogo fans. Cancio, a fan of Botafogo, died before police arrived to stop the melee.
"It was inhuman," officer Delis Prates said.
The fans, in two bus convoys, arrived late for the game and were turned away from the stadium in Volta Redonda, 108 kilometers southwest of Rio, media reported. They were returning to Rio when a Botafogo bus stopped with a flat tire and the Flamengo group pulled up.
The buses emptied and the fans brawled with sticks and stones. A Flamengo fan reportedly found a sickle left near the roadside by a fruit vendor and attacked Cancio.
Police arrested about 160 fans - mostly from the Flamengo Young Fans group - although most were later released.
Flamengo, a five-time national champion, is Brazil's most popular club but is struggling this season to avoid relegation, the AP reports. _________________

| England fan badly hurt in attack by gang in Aberdeen - 03/07/2006
Source: The Scotsman
A GANG of about ten people brutally assaulted an England fan in Aberdeen shortly after the team went out of the World Cup, it emerged yesterday.
The 29-year-old victim was beaten up and his Scottish friend was punched and kicked as they walked in Union Street on Saturday night. It was the latest in a series of attacks on England fans in Scotland, including one on a seven-year-old boy, during the World Cup campaign.
The victim suffered serious bruising and cuts and may have a fractured skull.
The man, who asked not to be named, said: "The only reason I can think of is that I was wearing a polo shirt with the England cross on it. It wasn't even a football shirt.
"There was no provocation and no conversation. All I can remember is regaining consciousness lying on the ground, then I got a kick and a stamp on the head and I passed out again."
The man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and kept in overnight. Doctors fear he has a skull fracture and he is to go back for further X-rays when the bruising and swelling to his face go down.
His friend was released after treatment for cuts and bruises.
The England fan, who is currently setting up a dog-breeding business in Aberdeen, said: "It hasn't soured me on Scotland. I won't let the actions of individuals change my opinion of the country. I live here because it's where I want to be." _________________

| Soccer fans rampage in Bangladesh - 01/07/2006
Source: Rediff.com
At least 20 people including policemen were injured when soccer fans in the Bangladesh capital Dhaka rampaged after electricity failed during the Argentina v Germany World Cup quarter-final match, police said on Saturday.
The power distribution office at the city's Nazimuddin Road area came under attack by hundreds of fans on Friday night.
Angry fans clashed with police who tried to disperse them by using batons, witnesses said.
Bangladesh has no stake in the World Cup but the country of 140 million is sharply divided into Argentine and Brazilian camps.
Police said they feared more attacks as electricity frequently runs out in one or other part of the capital, as well as other cities.
Hosts Germany beat Argentina in a penalty shootout to reach the semi-finals. _________________

| Ajax fans jailed - 08/07/2006
Source: Turkish Daily News
Fifteen Ajax supporters were jailed for up to four years Thursday for assaulting rival ADO fans outside their clubhouse in The Hague earlier this year. But judges turned down the prosecutors' demand to call the accused a criminal gang in place of soccer hooligans. "The court is of the opinion that there is insufficient evidence to prove that the accused worked as a structured group with the aim of committing these offenses," their written ruling said. Prosecutors were considering an appeal, Dutch media reported. A group of about 70 Ajax supporters attacked 10 ADO fans with baseball bats and knives on Feb. 10. Although most of the 70 have been identified, the verdict covered the 15 supporters seen as ringleaders. Their names were not released. They received sentences of between one and four years. The harshest sentence was given to a 19-year-old who threw a molotov cocktail into the clubhouse, forcing the ADO fans to leave the burning building. Two were stabbed and one was beaten so badly he was hospitalized for several days. _________________

| Levski violent fans possibly disrupted road to UEFA - 28/07/2006
Source: Xinhua
Bulgaria's Levski football club may face fierce UEFA penalties after violent fans disrupted the team's Wednesday game against Georgia's Sioni, reported Sofia News Agency on Thursday.
Despite Levski's 1-0 lead, goaled by Emil Angelov, fans got angry for unfounded reason and started lighting torches and throwing smoke bombs and flares at the pitch, injuring several policemen.
The game had to be discontinued briefly, and while the smoke was clearing up, Levski's chief Nasko Sirakov, visibly infuriated, tried to subdue the fierce crowd.
About 10 minutes after the game was restored Levski's Daniel Borimirov nailed a penalty shot in the 82nd minute bringing the final score to 2-0.
The team will most likely see heavy penalties from UEFA and could very well be kicked out of the championship, journalists commented dismayed by the fans' conduct. _________________

| Bolton: Football yobs could be forced to report to police - 05/07/2006
Source: Bolton Evening News
HOOLIGANS who brawled in the street in Bolton town centre following England's World Cup defeat on Saturday could be banned from football matches or up to five years.
Police chiefs say they will consider applying for football banning orders against each of the 16 people arrested.
Up to 500 fans attacked each other in Bradshawgate before turning on passers-by and police.
Riot police were called in to clear the streets. Of the 16 arrested, two were charged with offences, two were bailed and 12 were given fixed penalty fines of £80.
Others could also be arrested as police begin the massive task of checking hours of CCTV footage from town centre cameras and the force's helicopter.
The banning orders are usually reserved for hooligans involved in trouble in and around football grounds.
But police in Bolton warned before the start of the tournament that drunken hooligans spilling from the town's pubs after crunch games would be targeted.
Chief Insp Martin Greenhalgh said: "We will have to judge every case on its merits, but we have the powers to apply for banning orders against anybody involved in disorder which surrounds football whether they are actually at the game or not.
"We have launched an investigation into Saturday's events and hopefully there will be more arrests.
"Where we are able to identify people, we will decide what action to take from there."
A football banning order bars an individual from all football grounds in the UK for between two and five years and from travelling abroad when England are playing.
Anybody subject to an order would have to report to a police station on match days and would have to surrender their passports to police ahead of football tournaments stopping them from leaving the country even for a holiday.
A total of 44 Bolton Wanderers fans are currently subject to football banning orders.
l A man arrested during the incident in Bolton town centre on Saturday has appeared in court.
Gareth Greenhalgh, aged 22, of Edgehill Road, Deane, yesterday pleaded not guilty to possession of an offensive weapon at Bolton Magistrates Court and was remanded on bail until August 1. _________________

| Falkirk - Rizespor - Friendly game - 16/07/2006
Source: The Daily Record (21/07/2006)
BAIRNS IN APPEAL TO FANS AFTER MATCH KO
FALKIRK fans are being asked to give their version of events that led to last Sunday's friendly against Turkish side Rizespor being abandoned after crowd trouble.
Club chiefs have launched a probe into the incident on their pre-season trip to Holland in a bid to clear the Bairns' name.
The game was scrapped after an hour when Turkish players clashed with Bairns fans who ran on to the field after their side levelled at 1-1.
Falkirk chairman Campbell Christie claimed Rizespor, were "hell-bent" on causing chaos.
He said: "Our fans, in celebrating the goal, became involved with a clearly upset group of opposition players and that gave the referee the opportunity to bring the match to a halt, something he appeared to be wanting to do all afternoon.
"Perhaps it was understandable as he and our players had to wait around on the pitch for almost an hour before the Turkish team arrived and carried out a full pre-match warm-up."
Bairns fans have been urged to give their version of events and Christie said: "We'll carry out an urgent and comprehensive investigation so we can decide what action, if any, we need to take to protect our good name."
Meanwhile, boss John Hughes is preparing to battle bureaucracy to land Nigerian midfielder Udo Nwoko. Hughes said: "I think he's keen but there's a lot of red tape." _________________

Source: isfa.com
The power distribution office at the city's Nazimuddin Road area came under attack by hundreds of fans on Friday night as hosts Germany beat Argentina 4-2 on penalties in Berlin.
Angry fans clashed with police who tried to disperse them by using batons, witnesses said.
Fifteen people were also injured in northern Jamalpur and 10 others in northeastern Shayestaganj in violence over power failures. Fans attacked and ransacked power distrbution offices in both places, police said on Saturday.
In the southern district of Noakhali, Argentina fan Jahangir Alam (38 ) died of a heart attack while watching the match.
Alam, a businessman, collapsed after Germany scored in the penalty shootout and was rushed to hospital, where doctors found him dead, his family told police and reporters.
Bangladesh has no stake in the World Cup but the country of 140 million is sharply divided into Argentine and Brazilian camps.
Police said they feared more attacks as electricity frequently runs out in one or other part of the capital, as well as other cities.
Germany face Italy on Tuesday in the World Cup semi-finals while England meet Portugal and Brazil play France in the last of the quarter-finals on Saturday. _________________

| Bolton v Rangers game cancelled - ??/07/2006
Source: forum
It was with disbelief that I read the news about the pre season friendly between Bolton and Rangers due to be played on 23 July 2006 was cancelled by greater Manchester police.
The reason they gave was that they wanted to protect the 261 000 people who live in Bolton. 12 000 Rangers fans had already booked busses and hotels for the trip which had been sanctioned by the Police weeks before, only to be told of the cancellation a week before. _________________
