Some minor clashes errupted in the German lateral tribune. But because of the massive police presence, and the mediatic coverage, all remain relatively calm. _________________

| Como - Lecco - 06/12/1998
Source: Ansa
More than 20 fans were wounded after incidents which occured during this game. 3 policemen were also wounded. About 300 Ultras from Lecco made the transfer to Como. Just before the end of the game, they tried to make a pitch invasion, which led to violent incidents with the police forces present inside the stadium.
Retuned with their special train, Ultras from Lecco used the alarm "stop" from the train, and went out of the wagons. Incidents occured again against the trailwail police (who had to use teargas). _________________

| Feyenoord Rotterdam - Ajax Amsterdam - 20/12/1998
Source: Soccer Fans
About 450 policemen were present to avoid any contacts between the two groups of fans. In front of the train station (where the special Ajax fans train was to arrive), an important group of Feyenoord fans was waiting. When the Ajax fans came out of the stations, both groups made use of fireworks and threw some beer cans, but the police had the situation under control. There were also many camera's of the police which were filming all the details. Just before the game, Feyenoord fans tryed a last charge against Ajax fans, and some seats were broken, but again, no real confrontation was made. After the game, Feyenoord fans gathered on the "Marathon bridge", in order to brake the police line which protected the Ajax fans returning to their special train. Some stones were used against the "police vehicles". In total, 27 fans were arrested. _________________

| Salernitana - AS Roma - 24/01/1999Source: Soccer Fans Roma Ultras were numerous during this transfer, but at the end of the game, incidents errupted in their sector. The police made a charge inside the stadium and 3 fans were wounded. Comments of an Ultra Roma witness : "We recognized the same policemen of the last year in Naples [Last season at Napoli-Roma 97/98 there were heavy incidents with the local police] because they belong to the same area of competence. At the end of the match, once the stadium was empty and we were alone with police, they began to charge us just because someone shouted against them; they did three charges in which they beated also women and a guy with a broken leg who couldn't run away...some of the policeman acted so hardly that the intervention of other policemen to stop him was needed!!!" _________________ | |

| La Spezia - Pisa - 24/01/1999
Source: Tifonet
The game had to be interrupted (and definitively stopped) after 10 minutes only. Fans throwed seats into the pitch, and a referee was wounded. The origin of the protest of Spezia fans was the facts that the authorities allowed the visiting fans of Pisa to obtain thousands of tickets (even a sector normally reserved for local Spezia fans was "used" for their rival Pisa fans. The police was fearing this game, and was present in high number as there were about 2.000 Pisa Ultras. _________________

Source: Soccer Fans
A.S. Roma fans were angry with society, players, press and the police. Ultras Roma did an enormous flag in which they denounced all this things...police came to invite them to take away the flag but they didn't. So some policemen entered the sector to let see that they were ready to make a charge ; at the ending of the first half a lot of Roma fans charged surprisingly against police and made them go out of the sector...with hard methods!!! _________________

| FC Den Haag - FC Den Bosch - 31/09/1999
Source: dutch press
The police of Den Haag had to assure a massive presence in order to avoid any confrontation between the two groups. 14 fans were arrested, as the "duel" against Den Bosch is always bringing some tension. Also last year there were incidents in the "Zuiderpark".
The troubles began just before the end of the game, as Den Haag fans were leaving the stadium in order to approach the Den Bosch reserved area. The police was fearing the worse when Den Haag hools began to throw stones at the bus of Den Bosch fans. The police had to make charges in order to clear the visiting fans area from any Den Haag fans. _________________

Source: french newspapers
Cannes goalkeeper Sebastien Chabbert was under observation in hospital on Sunday after being struck on the head by a missile thrown from the crowd during Saturday's French second division derby clash with Nice.
The match was abandoned after Chabbert was felled by the object hurled from the visitors' section full of Nice fans behind his goal. As Chabbert lay on the ground clutching his head a firework exploded next to him. He suffered concussion and loss of memory.
Cannes walked off after the 84th minute incident and refused to return. Nice were leading 1-0.
Missiles thrown on to the pitch included two pairs of scissors, iron bars, stones, fireworks, two mobile telephones and a solid lead ball used in the French game of petanque. _________________

Police inside the ground had to intervene as 700 Millwall yobs tried to break through segregation to attack City fans. 12 officers were hurt and 31 supporters arrested. Before the game Millwall thugs had gone on the rampage around Moss side, burning cars and smashing windows. Following the game, Man City fans rioted in anger at not being allowed to get at the Millwall fans. Report from a Ajax fan :
"At the end of the match (wich was for us Ajax-supporters quite boring)a firework bomb was thrown on the pitch by Ajax-fans, several seats were set afire and also the toilets were set afire. After the game, outside the stadium ajax-fans started challenging the riot-police (ME in duth) who responded by beating on us. From that moment on bricks and other stuff were hurled at the police who had to call reinforcements. Ajax fans then broke through a fence and broke free from the segregated area. A group of +- 50 fans were outside the fences and grabbed bricks, big branches and so on. The riot police beat the 'escaped' group back (after dodging 10 tons of bricks) so ajax fans started throwing big poles (that used to be part of the fence) and other stuff. Unfortunately the ajax-busses were ordered by the police to start driving without the ajax fans, so everybody ran back to his bus (to avoid having to return "walking" home)." _________________

At the south-side (The F-side) inside the stadium, f-siders attacked and beat up the security when they tried to arrest one person. The security guys were abusing their power and now it's "war" between f-side and security guards. The f-side doens't want any security guards presence anymore in their area. _________________

Source: Soccer Fans
This was the opening game of the spring-season. 14 arrest, all Brøndby Hools. 2 police officers were wounded. A boring 0-0 match ended in battlescenes between the police and SouthSideUnited. SouthSideUnited is a coalition between the Brøndby supporting groups already listed on the soccerfans-site, such as SouthSideBrigade,Warriors,Fanaticos,Hyænerne and YellowDragons.
The 14 arrests in the opening-game leaves the police nervous before 2nd round, in which the classic game between Brøndby and fc copenhagen takes place with an expected attendence of nearly 20.000 people - compared to 4.000 at Vejle-Brøndby. _________________

Source: Soccer Fans
During the 1st half the Mvv's Angel-side was provocing the ajax-supporters to the right of them, the ajax supporters did not respond. During the second half the Mvv Maastricht gang began singing songs about Feyenoord, and Carlo's death, around 10 of them even had feyenoord flags and shirts. The Ajax mob responded and around 300 supporters left the stadium to get to the other section, A fence between the 2 sides was broken, and some very sharp parts of the fence were thrown to police and the mvv supporters, one piece of the fence hit the Riot Police and broke through his shield and hit him on the arm, The ajax supporters broke through the Police-line and got to the Mvv section, The Angel-Side saw they had no chance and started running. Then the Ajax F-side started to break the stadium and set the roof on fire. After the match the Ajax F-side also demolished some cars. | Atalanta Bergamo - Brescia - 28/03/1999
Source: Soccer Fans
Brescia fans came with about 800 Ultras to Bergamo. They came with several special bus just before the beginning of the game, escorted by impressive police forces. At their arrival, the police made a massive use of teargas (about 10 shots) in the direction of Atalanta fans who were waiting and gathering in a nearby street. Durging the game, Atalanta fans made use of their huge flag, covering their whole side. After the game, like it is a tradition in Atalanta, 'Wild Kaos' and 'Brigate' group gathered outside the stadium in order to search contact with their Brescia rivals. The police was well organized too, with even a special "filming service team", which tried to record as many images as possible of the toublemakers. About 350 Ultras then provoqued the police, which had to face with repetitive charges of the troublemakers. Teargas was also used, when the Brescia fans went out of the stadium. _________________

| Brondby IF - AGF Aarhus - 01/04/1999
Source: Soccer Fans
Comments from a Brøndby fan :
"The AGF Ultra White Pride, who call themselves "Denmark´s strongest firm", managed to gather 25 hooligans to go to Brondby in Copenhagen. After arriving at Brondby railway station, they started hurling bottles at scarfers and random bystanders. The rumor of the arrival of the AGF firm spread quickly, and that they were about to take the bus to the stadium. +- 90 Brondby hools gathered at a bus stop waiting for the AGF. But the AGF took the direct bus to Brondby stadium, to avoid South Side United (the largest Brondby firm). Behind safe police lines they entered the stadium unharmed, except for a few punches and kicks being exchanged. Brondby won 4-1, which started some minor trouble with 3-4 arrests following flares being lit in the AGF section. After the match the police had full control over the Brondby firms, and even when +- 90 of the hools drove 12 kilometers to meet the AGF firm at a distant railway station, the police discovered it and showed in high numbers. The AGF firm never showed, so nothing much happened this day."
Second comment after the AGF reaction :
"Clever hools don´t fight just in front of the police. The police attacked everyone and broke up the fight. The call on a mobilephone is a big joke, obviuosly. If one uses logic thinking, why would 93 hools stand and wait for one entire hour, looking for 20-25 men at a railway station at the west side of Copenhagen, if they knew where the AGF had gone?"
Comments from an AGF fan :
"The people in SSU (Southside United)forgot to tell, that their boys ran away after a short fight, when they meet our boys outside the stadium. And they also forgot to tell, that we called them after the match on a mobilphone, and told them which pub in copenhagen they could find us. We left Brøndby with honour, and we did what SSU could expect from us, when we are away." _________________

There were a lot of rumours going on about Feyenoord fans who supposedly had tickets outside the segregated Feyenoord section. Also about 150 feyenoord hooligans would come to the Bijlmer station where the F-side hangs out before matches. Unfortunately no feyenoord hooligans were seen anywhere near the stadium (at least no groups who were worth fighting), they all took the special supporters train. Before the match Ajax fans clashed with the riot police. One undercover policeman was heavily injured when he was hit on the head with an iron pole, he immediately lost consciousness. 12 Ajax fans were arrested, also some fans that were still wanted by the police for riots at earlier matches. After the game there was another (small) clash with the riot police. _________________
