French football authorities on Monday ordered Lens to play their home matches behind closed doors until further notice after a half-time pitch invasion marred their 1-0 win over northern rivals Lille.
The ruling applies to Wednesday's Ligue 1 game against Strasbourg and the October 1 visit of Reims.
A final decision will be taken after the case is thoroughly examined five days later.
The French league's disciplinary committee also decided to close the away section for travelling Lille supporters at upcoming matches, starting with Saturday's trip to Strasbourg.
Dozens of Lens supporters stormed the Stade Bollaert-Delelis pitch on Saturday to confront the visiting Lille fans stationed in a corner of the ground after tensions flared with other spectators.
Riot police intervened to separate the factions of opposing supporters as both sets of fans hurled seats at each other over a partition wall.
Six people sustained minor injuries and police made two arrests.
Lens have filed a complaint over the damage caused and the use of smoke bombs, local prosecutors told AFP.
The second half of the match was delayed by 30 minutes.
The trouble came the week after Nice were docked a point following the serious incidents that led to their August 22 home match with Marseille to be abandoned.
Nice supporters invaded the pitch and confronted Marseille's Dimitri Payet, who had thrown a bottle lobbed at him back into the crowd. A brawl then broke out involving players and spectators.
That game will be replayed at a neutral venue on October 27. Nice were also ordered to play three matches behind closed doors.
A clash between Montpellier and Marseille on the opening weekend of the season was also interrupted for about 10 minutes after fans threw bottles onto the pitch.
League officials ordered Montpellier to close two parts of their ground for the next three home games.

Police launch criminal hooliganism investigation after fans jump fence in stadium in bloody fight over flares during match
Police are investigating a shocking mass brawl over flares which left people bloodied in the stands at a home game of Ukrainian champions Dynamo Kiev, with the hooligans involved facing up to four years in prison. Violent footage has emerged of the scrap during Dynamo's match with Oleksandriya on Saturday, appearing to show 'ultras' – the hardcore section of support – charging towards a segregation fence at the 70,000-capacity NSC Olimpiyskiy.
The clip shows a man with his face and jacket covered in blood, while blood can also be seen on several seats in what is said to have been a family section.
According to one account that posted the footage, some spectators had "made a remark to others regarding the cessation of the use of fireworks."
Dynamo appeared to confirm that suggestion in a statement, responding by saying that a "large group of people" in the section "lit pyrotechnics".
"Fans of the neighboring sector made legitimate verbal remarks to them that such actions could harm and cause discomfort to children and other spectators in [a nearby] sector," it said.
"In response to this request, there was an aggressive, unacceptable reaction from members of the fan group. It manifested itself in the commission of physical violence against some spectators, [and] their beating by a group of people in front of a large audience of the match, including viewers.
"Only after the intervention of the police was this offense stopped. Individuals have been identified and detained for drafting procedural documents."
The club, which will host Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the Champions League this season, said that the "hooligan actions" had violated the law and had been "clearly recorded", with the photos and videos sent by stadium management to police in Kiev.
"We hope that law enforcement agencies will give a proper legal assessment to the aggressive actions of the perpetrators and bring them to justice for the crime," it said.
"FC Dynamo clearly states its steadfast position on the inadmissibility of any acts of violence at the stadium and the inevitability of punishing violators of the law.
"For our part, we guarantee the full assistance of the investigating authorities in the investigation of criminal proceedings."
A police statement said that special forces had been sent to the section as soon as they were informed of the trouble, with four people coming forward with allegations of injuries "of varying severity" so far.
"The efforts of police officers are aimed at identifying and bringing to justice all those involved," it said, explaining that hooliganism charges were being investigated which carry up to four years' imprisonment.
Dynamo are three points clear at the top of the Ukrainian Premier League following a dramatic last-gasp win courtesy of Viktor Tsyhankov's 97th-minute penalty.

Hungary fined and given one-match fan ban by FIFA for racist abuse - 21/09/2021
Hungary has been ordered to play its next FIFA World Cup qualifier behind closed doors after racist abuse by its supporters.
The team will now have to play its FIFA qualifying match against Albania next month with no fans in attendance.
Hungary was also fined 200,000 Swiss francs (€184,700) by FIFA on Tuesday, one of the largest financial penalties ever handed out.
FIFA’s disciplinary committee ruled there had been "racist behaviour of numerous supporters" during their match against England earlier this month.
Monkey chants were reportedly directed by supporters towards England players Raheem Sterling and Jude Bellingham.
Hungarian fans used "racist words and actions, threw objects, lit fireworks, and blocked stairways" at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, FIFA said in a statement.
The team will have to play another FIFA match without a crowd if there are future incidents of abuse, with "a two-year reprieve".
Hungary had already been ordered by UEFA to play its next three home games behind closed doors after fans' discriminatory behaviour at EURO 2020, but the ban had not yet been implemented.
"The FIFA ban on Hungary for racism and the huge fine is welcome and a signal from FIFA of a renewed determination to punish racism," Piara Powar, executive director of the anti-racism FARE network, told The Associated Press.
But Powar added that the punishments "will not deal with the problem of racism" in Hungarian football stadiums in the long term.
"If all Hungarian offences had been taken into account they would be facing exclusion from the World Cup, and remedial measures would have been put in place," Powar said.
"There should be better coordination between confederations, such as UEFA, and FIFA".
FIFA had been asked to crack down on racist abuse by the UK government. The organising body said it condemned "all forms of racism and violence, as well as any other form of discrimination or abuse".
"FIFA takes a clear zero-tolerance stance against such abhorrent behaviour in football," it added.
The Hungarian football federation said it had filed a complaint "against the identified perpetrators of the offences committed during the match".
But the federation said the FIFA penalties were "counter-productive" and unfair and indicated it may appeal the decision.

Bosnia : Velež Mostar - FK Borac Banja Luka - 21/09/2021
Several fans of Bosnian top-flight side Velez Mostar set on fire the car of a referee after being angered by decisions he made during their team’s match, police said Wednesday.
The match played in Mostar, in southern Bosnia, was interrupted a few minutes before the end on Tuesday after dozens of angry Velez supporters invaded the pitch.
Referee Sabrija Topalovic and his two assistants left for Sarajevo but their car was intercepted in a tunnel by another vehicle with four people on board, a police officer told AFP.
“After damaging the car they threw a burning torch in it.”
One person was injured and hospitalised in nearby Jablanica, he said and added the search for the assailants was still ongoing.
Local media published a photo of the burned-out car.
Velez Mostar fans stormed the pitch in the 82nd minute of the match, after reigning Bosnian champions Borac Banja Luka scored to take a 2-0 lead.
During the game Velez supporters protested several decisions made by referee.
Such incidents are rather rare in Bosnian football, although referees are sometimes accused of corruption.
In late 2020, two referees and an official of Bosnia’s second division referees’ commission were charged for fixing matches for 1,500 to 3,500 euros per game.

Rennes vs FC Nantes : Three supporters arrested for violence after the derby - 22/09/2021
The scene took place in the middle of the game. While Stade Rennais and FC Nantes faced each other on the lawn of Roazhon Park on Sunday, August 22, several Rennes supporters came down from the stands to try to leave the enclosure. The reason ? The presence of the ultras of the Loire Brigade near the stadium. The latter, who did not attend the match by refusing to use the health pass in the stadiums, were posted on the other side of the Vilaine, a hundred meters from Roazhon Park.
During the Rennes supporters’ attempt to exit, a steward was injured by the throwing of a barrier and a police officer was lightly hit. A month after the meeting finally won by Stade Rennais, the Rennes public prosecutor announced that three people had been arrested.
A 28-year-old man from La Manche was arrested on September 15 for acts of violence against the security guard. The latter was already known for violence. Five days later, a 22-year-old man residing in Rennes was taken into police custody for the same facts.
Systematic stadium bans ?
The two men will be summoned to court on March 16 “for violence against a person in charge of a public service mission during a sporting event,” said prosecutor Philippe Astruc. They were placed under judicial supervision with a ban on appearing at Roazhon Park. They will have to report to the police on match night.
A third individual was arrested. Residing in Rennes, this 31-year-old man admitted to having exercised violence on a police officer. He is forbidden to come to Roazhon Park. The man will have to carry out a citizenship course, specifies the prosecution. “Any new act of violence committed in the context of sporting events will be subject to removal measures from sports grounds”, warns the prosecutor.

The Eredivisie club has found through video images which spectator threw a cup of beer against the head of Vitesse goalkeeper Markus Schubert just before the start of the second half. Groningen says it is working on identifying this man. In addition to a fine of 450 euros, he can also face a stadium ban of six years
“We have been working together for a long time to get the supporters back to the stadium,” says FC Groningen general manager Wouter Gudde. ,,The atmosphere at our home games has been excellent so far, but unfortunately it turned around on Wednesday evening due to a number of incidents. That is not good to say. We are very upset about this. It was a crappy evening for us, because some of the people showed unacceptable behavior. We would like to offer our sincere apologies to opponent Vitesse and to all our supporters who have experienced inconvenience.”
FC Groningen already received two red cards before half-time and also fell behind. The second half started half an hour later than planned, because Schubert was hit by a cup of beer from the audience just before the resumption. After that, several spectators also ran bare-chested across the field. It would be a hazing campaign of a student association.

Arrests after French football rocked by violence - 24/09/2021
French police made arrests on Thursday and football authorities held an emergency meeting after a series of violent incidents involving supporters during midweek Ligue 1 matches.
At the final whistle of the 0-0 draw, a group of Marseille supporters left the area of the stadium reserved for visiting fans and tried to confront their Angers counterparts before stadium security staff regained control.
Two Marseille supporters were arrested for their role in those incidents, prosecutors said.
Jean-Michel Blanquer, France's education minister who also has overall responsibility for sport, described the incidents as the result of "unacceptable hooliganism" and called for tough action from the Ligue 1 authorities.
"There are people who should be banned from stadiums in the future as soon as they come out with this kind of behaviour," Blanquer told LCI television.
Later Thursday, French league officials ordered one of the stands at Angers' Stade Raymond Kopa to be closed for the home game with Metz on October 3.
Marseille fans, meanwhile, will be banned from the stadium at Lille on the same date after officials ordered the closure of the visiting fans' section.
